"I just stayed here with my husband and 2 children"
14-Jul-2010
I just stayed here with my husband and 2 children (6mths and 2) and I cannot stop raving about it. They have a family room with interconnecting rooms which was superb value at £69 B+B for a Sunday night. They thought of everything - providing toys, cots, bedlinen, baby monitor, washing liquid and brush and even a mini fridge for milk/ baby food. The double bedroom is a decent size and delightfully 2 closed doors (but within earshot) of the children's room which can hold 2 cots and 2 sofabeds. Between the two there's a small bathroom with bath and shower. Each bedroom has its own TV and DVD player. The kids room adjoins the stairs only so you're not paranoid about disturbing other people.
My toddler loved it and the baby monitor reception reaches the restaurant so we were able to have the very delicious, locally sourced food without worrying. The service was superb - they could not have been more helpful. On Sunday nights they also have live music (not too loud though!).
They provide kid's dinners of the usual variety (including wood-fired oven pizzas) and breakfast was lovely too. The usual range of full english options as well as continental plus freshly baked muffins.
They have a separate coffee bar downstairs with papers and even more toys and books. It was within walking distance of the pretty Cotswold town and a decent playgroud. We went to the Cotswold Farm Park the next day which is fab for kids - lots of holding small animals, tractor rides and stuff to play on.
I am dying to go back, I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough for a break with any age of kid.Read moreLessMumsnetter Pelvicflooragogo

"We went to The Priory Inn for Sunday lunch the"
21-Dec-2009
We went to The Priory Inn for Sunday lunch the sunday before Christmas with 2 children aged 3 & 4.
It's easy to book online for the restaurant.
They are a 30 mile restaurant which means they source all their food from within a 30 mile radius. This information is put on every table so you can find out where your food comes from. A few things do come from a mile or so out of the area but not far. Fresh veg from a local farm, hand made ice cream.
The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. the veg very fresh and tasty.
Their is a kids menu and they also put colouring on the table for the kids. Large dark wooden tables and a huge roaring fire in the middle of the restaurant.
Kids menu has all the normal favourites, sausage and mash, home made fish cakes, home made stone baked pizza (which the kids can make their own). Steak, fish, veg options to.
The toilets have baby change and also the adult toilets have the type of seat which can change into a toddler seat as well. Very useful to stop small child falling down toilet.
The staff were lovely really nice, service was a moment or so slow but we were there for a meet with the in-laws and it didn't matter as we talked throughout. The restaurant was full but no one was being hurried out of the place to make way for more people. Although people walking in off the street sat in the bar whilst they waited for a table.
I really recommend this and am thinking of going back for a stay as well next time.Read moreLessMumsnetter paranoidmother
