This is a gloriously eccentric extremely family-friendly hotel. It has won numerous awards for being child friendly as well as being in the good food guide, good hotel guide and "Listed in the Daily Telegraph as one of the 10 best hotels in the British Isles and in the Independent & Observer as one of the top 50 in Britain (only one other hotel in the land has been so honoured)".
I can honestly say it lives up to the hype. My family (DS2 +DD 7mths) stayed in a family suite with a separate interconnecting room, play area with loads of toys, games and books and a very large family bathroom with roll-top bath. There are teddies everywhere, it's kind of a theme. They offer a junior a la carte menu and kids are charged by how much they eat!
They have silent fridges in the room and a baby listening service so you can go down for a very tasty dinner. they've also got hilariously decorated loos which have won awards. So many other good things - big garden with trampolines, putting, croquet, swings etc, swimming pool. All right by the town centre so walkable to the river for boat rides etc.
Really really recommended.Read moreLessMumsnetter Pelvicflooragogo

"Visiting this hotel is like being held hostage by Rod…"

Visiting this hotel is like being held hostage by Rod Hull. I'm amazed that no one has strangled the owner with one of his "humorous" ties. There are rules on every surface. There are four exclamation marks at the end of every sentence. If you find jokes about big bottoms hilarious and your favourite ever Christmas present is a singing trout, and can't type a sentence without finishing it with 'lol' then this may be the hotel for you. The children will love it no doubt, but don't forget to pack your valium.

The Evesham was praised for being "totally child friendly." There are "facilities for children everywhere, Children's tea is "even available as room service - handy when you break down en route as we did and arrive way past tea time." The food is described as "excellent" and the rooms "big and comfy." Add that to "fantastically helpful staff and even "a joke cracking duck in the ladies that the kids will love" and it all adds up to a "wonderful, relaxing break."

Kids high tea was very good. Restaurant for 'grown ups' excellent, although same menu lasts 7 days so you may get bored if you stayed a while ! Pool brilliant with loads of floats etc. No creche but lots to do & huge garden
