"We stayed at The Stable over Christmas/New year 2010. Our"
13-Jan-2011
We stayed at The Stable over Christmas/New year 2010. Our boys were aged 4.5yrs and 3 months at the time and we all had a ball! We moved in with my parents, my sister and her husband for the festive season.
The rooms were all a lovely size and the layout was such that even though there were 6 adults and 2 children we didn't feel squashed in!
The little touches left by the owners when we arrived were very thoughtful...coffe, tea and a homemade cake to name but a few. Plus the most amazing christmas tree fully decorated ready for the big visit.
Also it was within easy reach of Newport...literally a 5 minute drive, or a 20 min walk.
The animals where a lovely adventure for our 4 year old especially the chickens and cows. Wellies are essential but everything else you would possibly need is there.
I would recommend this to any family who is looking for a home from home with spectacular views and a very peaceful backdrop.Read moreLessMumsnetter COsmummy

"They have two cottages in this farm. Six of us"
09-Jan-2009
They have two cottages in this farm. Six of us stayed at the Carriage House and it was absolutely wonderful. The accommodation is of high quality. The kitchen is fully equipped. High-chair and travel cot are provided which were very handy for my 18 months-old boy. Videos for children and a small library can be found in the very comfortable lounge. The log burner certainly added some charm (fire guard was provided to keep the little monster safe). When we arrived, the owner Sally welcomed us with great warmth with a bottle of wine and home-baked cake. Tea bags and instant coffee granules were already provided so you can make a cuppa when you arrive. Excellent base. Newport is only 2 minutes drive away.
The owners are very happy for you to visit the farm animals. We saw pigs, cows, sheeps, peacock, goats, hens, ponies, .... You may even get to bottle-feed lambs.Read moreLessMumsnetter YYL
