I agree with Justine. A great place for a quick getaway with lovely gardens and great food (the only place I have seen Quinoa growing in the UK for you lentil weavers)Read moreLess

"Well what can I say? The Manoir is everything you'd…"
Well what can I say? The Manoir is everything you'd think it would be - stylish, comfortable, amazing food and wine - and something else too that you might not expect - it's amazingly relaxed. It's got that thing about it that really classy hosts have - they cater for your every need, yet put you at your ease at the same time; a slight surprise for me given the Michelin stars and the Gallic influence. But it's not grand - it's exquisite and tasteful and chilled. I didn't go with my kids but I've no doubt it would have been fine - they would have been just as welcome. In fact it looks like they are specifically targeting the family market with a "kids go free" offer at the moment.
Or alternatively it makes a fabulous romantic, special-occasion getaway - particularly of course if you are a foodie (and winie!) Dinner was a great event - every course an adventure, the rooms are spot on (and I'm a modernist at heart but the country look just works in this beautiful Cotswold house) and the gardens are beautiful.
And as if that wasn't enough, Raymond himself turned up at breakfast with a hand-picked bouquet of something or other from the garden. (I was lost.)
If you can afford it, go.Read moreLess
