Highgate house is a beautiful base for a holiday in Northamptonshire. The room itself comfortably slept our family of 4 and the bathroom was gorgeous. We sat down to a three course meal both nights and enjoyed fantastic food and service. The hotel had a dining room and a breakfast room, where you could opt to take afternoon tea if you wanted, with a slice of cake of course!
Billing Aquadrome is about 30 minutes away by car. It's a small holiday village, equipped with camping facilities, play areas, crazy golf, indoor swimming pools and even a tattoist! The boys were most excited by the swimming pool and after two hours of them sliding down all the slides we moved onto to explore the rest of the park. My eldest son loved the climbing net and by the time we headed back to our hotel both boys were satisfyingly shattered.
Salcey Forest Walk is free to get into and a great place to let the children run free. You can choose between different lengths of walk so if you're not feeling overly energetic you can take the shorter route and still enjoy the treetop experience.
