Absolutely fantastic place. From the moment we arrived (late and harassed after long journey) with three starving muddy children and two desperate parents, the 'mum' of the castle appeared, guided the children into the dining room where cottage pie was magically produced within about 5 seconds, we were herded up to our divine rooms to unpack, while the kids ate happily downstairs. loads to do, lovely friendly place, and the staff couldn't do enough for us, we will definitely go back!Read moreLess

We went without children but had a blissful stay. It really felt special. Every room is decorated beautifully and tastefully. Ours had a big sleigh bed and large ensuite. They provided home made flapjacks and a small carafe of sherry as well as lovely toiletries.
After being apprehensive about the communal dining table we were surprised be thoroughly enjoying it - the other guests were very friendly and it really added to the atmosphere. Dinner was sensational, as were the choccies and port after. Breakfast was at whatever time we wanted (as late as poss!) and we had scrambled eggs and thick, locally sourced organic smoked salmon.
There was a dressing up box and separate dining table for children and loads of outisde facilities so I'd love to return with children in warmer weather.Read moreLess

Sheer bliss! This quirky castle combines what is best about a B&B (individuality and a personal touch) with a hotel (cleanliness and efficiency).
We had the best night stay for ages here, with lovely hosts and friendly staff. Their daughter, immediately chummed off with our 4 year old and ransacked the plentiful playroom, leaving us to read the Sunday papers!
The room was just lovely, with handmade toiletries and thoughtful touches like a drink and snacks for the kids. The beds were fab and we had a large bathroom with a 'four poster bath!'
