"A proper break!…"
Sometimes a holiday where you are cooking, washing and still looking after the kids but without any of the things you need and usually have at home, isnt really a "holiday". Enter Benn and Amy, for whom nothing is too much trouble. A trip to the beach? Benn has loaded buckets, spades, rugs, surfboards, water, towels, and is there waiting to drive you. All you have to do is get in the car! Back from the beach? Amy is on hand with kids tea prepared, and grown up supper on the way, and most importantly of all, wine on the table! So you come home from French Fusion feeling properly refreshed and pampered (especially if you get Kirsty the masseuse to visit) and like you really have had a proper break from the day-to-day. The kids all loved it too, from splashing about in the pool, playing in the wendy house and chasing the chickens, to trips to fab beaches, and canoeing on an idyllic river. Recommend. Recommend. "Fantastic family holiday for all age ranges…"
If you are looking for a fun family activity holiday for all age ranges with most of the catering and arrangements made for you then this is the perfect holiday (www.frenchfusion.com). We went here with another family in Aug 2012 and we all had a great time. French Fusion is run by a lovely English couple, Benn and Amy, who have made Pouillon (South West France) their home. They will tailor make your itinerary for you after discussion with you once they know age ranges and abilities (our kids ranged in age from 1 year to 6 years old).
You stay in a very comfortable villa and they live in the house next door, which works well as you have your privacy but they are on hand to help as much as you need.
Benn and Amy were very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them - from making different meals for fussy kids, to washing sandy clothes. We felt more like house guests than paying guests. Amy is a wonderful cook and provides delicious breakfasts for you and as many evening meals as you would like and will sort out picnic lunches as necessary. There were homemade canapés and champagne on arrival and cakes at teatime. One afternoon Amy even offered to occupy our 4 girls baking cakes so that we could laze by the pool - so thoughtful and much appreciated by the girls and us!
Benn sorts out all the activities and drives you to them - we went to the beach, canoeing and paddle boarding on a local river, cycling in the surrounding countryside and the Dads even tried a spot of surfing. There are lots of other options for the more adventurous or you can just have a chilled day by the pool, which we did several times.

The villa has a lovely heated swimming pool which is nice and secluded, a small gym and an honesty bar by the pool. They have everything you need for travelling with small kids - sterilisers, travel cot etc. There is also a sandpit and playhouse and lots of toys. The villa has 5 bedrooms so we were two families (9 of us in total) but it would work well if going with grandparents too or just one large family.

They also know a locally based English masseuse, Kirsty, who gave lovely massages and facials - we booked Kirsty for the start of our holiday and asked her to come on our last day too as we liked her so much.

It is excellent value for money and we all felt like we had had a real break since we didn't have to cook, clean or drive ourselves anywhere, while doing lots of fun activities with our kids. I would highly recommend. (And in fact since we went to French fusion we have also been on Benn and Amy's skiing holiday for Easter 2013 as we like their style of holiday so much - www.skiing-pyrenees.com.)Read moreLess
