"This is a lovely campsite. We stayed here 2 years…"

This is a lovely campsite. We stayed here 2 years in a row, in both 2008 and 2009 with Canvas, and really enjoyed it both times. The campsite has lots of activities for children to enjoy, especially the mini go carts and boat rides. It is safe and the siesta is rigidly enforced, which meant that my older son could ride his bike around the site during this quiet time with no cars at all. There is the loveliest walk through a pine forest to reach the equally lovely beach, and the same pines shade much of the park. The restaurants are also good and there is a typically Italian ice cream bar - what more do you want! Most of the cabins have a BBQ and we spent many a warm evening eating our BBQ on the patio with a glass of 3 euro a bottle prosecco! The pools are not heated but in the Italian sun that shouldn't trouble you. The pool complex is pretty good and has a shallow toddler area and a waterside and splash pool if you're over 6. You can also walk to the small town of Carole or cycle there - whatever you prefer. There was a nice mix of Europeans with mainly Danish / Irish / German and very few English. With all this and the baby disco every night (which my children couldn't wait to go to) I would highly recommend.

"Perfecto!! What a brilliant place for a holiday - so…"

Perfecto!! What a brilliant place for a holiday - so good we booked it within days of arriving home. You don't need to hire a car as you can get the bus direct from marco Polo airport in venice. The campsite has amazing pools and is right on a gorgeous, clean an gently shelving sandy beach. A short walk through the pine woods (take a torch for return journeys!) takes you to Eraclea Mare for shops, fab restauarants (the Pirate one is amazing) - play area for the children and the most amazing seafood platter I've ever experienced! The onsite restauarnt is lovely and the takeaway pizzas are just what you would expect in Italy!! I was expecting the usual campiste supermarket but this one is well stocked and every reasonably priced! Kids entertainment was fine - not too in your face but there if the children wanted it and they loved the visiting markets and of course the games arcade and the mini cars and bumper boats on site. It was too hot for them to make full use of tennis and the football courts!! The site also has Quiet Times - over lunchtime and after 11pm and the wee man on his bike will tell you off if you're too loud! They don't mind groups of people chatting over a few glasses of wine after 11pm but they did throw out one family for excessive noise on our 2nd trip. Site is very safe and secure with a wristband worn at all times and loads of staff around to help you. Excursions are fab - Venice isn't far away and we enjoyed amazing trips there - you can get the bus right outside the campsite. Caorle is just down the road and it is a lovely pretty town with a superb waterfront - very interesting sculptures and a fantastic and not too expensive water park right next door to the bus station.
