Le Chateau des Marais

This campsite is a nice one if you want to see the Loire valley and all the Chateaux.
There is a great swimming complex on site and lots of activities. It is set around an old manor house so there is a great atmosphere. You can hire bikes if you want to get out and about. A really lovely campsite, a five minute drive from Chambord Chateau. Quiet with large pitches - an authentic holiday.

The swimming pools at this campsite were fantastic - with little slides for the older children but a great heated 'lazy river' which has an artificial current that gently takes you along. Ideal for smaller children/babies. The restaurant and take away were also good. There are also tennis courts, a spa and crazy golf.

The campsite is really well laid out - small and not at all overcrowded - most of the pitches had some sort of shade too which is necessary when it got too hot. It was safe for the older children to cycle around (7yrs old) to go to the play park.

Lots of lovely things nearby for the children to do - recommend the zoo which is about 40 mins away.

The children's main play park was a bit basic (swings/slide/climbing frame), and there is a smaller one at the top of the site but you could also hire bikes/go-carts/children's large ride on cars to ride around the campsite.

Kids clubs were well run with friendly staff - with great toys for the little ones too (you have to stay if they are under 4)

No real negatives at all- definately recommend this site.
