"Novelty wore off very quickly…"
10-Dec-2012
There was initial excitement when this toy was unpacked. It has screws to turn with the screwdriver, buttons to hammer which lit up, songs in English and French and a saw.
The main turn off with this toy is that nothing is achieved. The screws don't 'screw in', the buttons to be hammered don't 'hammer in', nothing can be measured with the measuring tape etc.
The songs provided some fun and the tools were used independently of the Carpenter's Bench but I find the toy too prescriptive and it has been relegated to the back of the toy cupboard.

"Lots of fun dancing…"
26-Nov-2012
My two DSs (1 and 4) have loved playing with this toy. The little one loves to dance to the music and the older one has been learning all the songs in French and English (the songs, by the way, are not annoying!). It has lots of different tools to explore, flashing lights and noisy screws.
I've marked it down a bit for lasting because it is surely only a matter of time before the hammer, screwdriver or saw is lost forever down the back of the sofa, but having said that one of the first things my 4 yo did was figure out how to make all the noises without the tools anyway.
