"My DD was given a present of a Tea set…"
12-Oct-2011
My DD was given a present of a Tea set at 18 months and loves it. It was the first toy that she played with for more than 10 minutes.
It still comes out daily to be played with.Read moreLessMumsnetter SlightlyScrambled

DD has been given 3 tea sets as presents - a plastic one, a ceramic one and a wooden one. She loves them all, and they are played with nearly every day. Her favourite is the china one as this comes in a little wicker picnic basket that she likes to carry around. As it's ceramic there are several missing handles and glued together parts, but she still loves it. Highly recommended toy.

Hi I just bought a tea set amongst other things from Kiddywinks.com. I loved the detail of the set as it comes with little wooden cakes and wooden sandwichs! My daughter loved it (although her brother got fed up with the endless picnics) A great gift for all pre school kids.

Oh what a perfect little gift! DD was bought a tea set a while ago buy a friend of ours. It is one her most used toys. She has endless fun making DH and I tea parties, and since she has started imaginary play, her bears are invited too! We have toy food too and she serves us breakfast in bed sometimes. It is transportable so good to take to cafes, restaurants and friend's houses to keep the kids occupied. fab.

I haven't met a kid yet who didn't like to play with tea sets. My DD (4) has 2 different ones and DS (2) has his own set too! Great value for money and when friends come over, they all play with them together.

My 2 year old loves this, and can spend hours pretending to make me, her teddies and her dollies a cup of tea. A relatively cheap toy that lasts a long time, and kids don't get bored of it in a day like some other toys.

04-Nov-2008
Suitable for boys & girls, a tea-set can be used for imaginative play (inviting toys & friends to tea), and social skills (with you modelling please & thank you), and just general pottering about in their own dreamworld.
