"Little one liked it…"

got this for my baby when she was teething. She enjoyed chewing it and squeaking it. however, she got bored of it pretty quickly. however, other babies always seem to make a bee-line for it when they are over.
It loses it's squeak if you let them take it in the bath!Read moreLessMumsnetter dangalf

I got my little girl a Sophie when she was a baby. The feet, ears and nose are perfect for little mouths and the soft rubber very tactile so it was an instant hit. They formed such a bond that Sophie is still one of her comfort toys now and she's almost 3!!

For babies Sophie is always a hit! She squeaks and is a great teether. The legs and face are perfect chewing size and shape. Ours did loose it's squeak - not sure how it happened but it's still loved. It can be more expensive than other teethers, but this teether got the most use out of them all in our house

My little girl loves Sophie, she is 3 months old and has had Sophie since she was one month old. She had an instant interest in her at a time when she was not interested in any other toys and now that she can grab she spends her time eating Sophie's head! It catches a babies attention and she talks to it like they are best buddies!

My daughter is only 3mths so can't yet fit the legs in her mouth to chew but she loves the squeaking and smiles and laughs when she first sees Sophie. Definately worth buying. My mum also told me that I had one and had taken it everywhere when I was a bit older.

Sophie is marvellous! A big hit with my daughter while she's been teething. Annabel particularly likes chewing her ears and feet, it gives her a lot of comfort. Sophie was given to us as a gift and as soon as I saw her I remembered her, I had my own Sophie when I was young!!! She even smelled the same!
Highly recommended, I think she's probably the best teething toy on the market.Read moreLessMumsnetter Janilusu

Sophie is one of the greats. Our friends have recently had a baby and the father is French and virtually every baby in France has a Sophie...so they can't all be wrong!* (*needs citation). We got one for Isobella and it's an absolute hit.. Great for teething, soothing, has a lovely squeak, smells naturally nice, is light and really helps with motor development, and speaks terrible pidgeon French to our little girl... Full marks!

Baby started teething and likes to bites Sophie's toes but not as much as soothing his gum with the dummy. It is indeed a wonderful newborn gift, I have given plenty as it is 100% natural product and very very cute indeed!

sophie the giraffe is both smaller (perfect size for little hands) and cuter than I had expected. Her bumpy head is good for teething gums to chew on and she is made from a soft, pleasant, rubbery material. Apparently this is a v famous baby toy and has been around for decades but I've only just discovered it, would buy it again as present for newborn. It makes a good alternative to other teething toys which seem much of a muchness.

Both my son and daughter love it - not really sure why. It's very soft, being made of natural rubber, and very good for chewing. I have given tons of times now as a gift for newborns.
