1m Square Sandpit, Selwood Products

As only mums know, looking after 2 toddlers is a handful at times. There is no end of energy and excitement and it can be hard to find things to do to keep them occupied all of the time. My youngest, Jack, has taken a shining to drawing on our walls in crayon recently and although I'm keen for him to express his creative side, I don't want him doing it on our nice calico walls. Winter is without a doubt one of the hardest times because I can't get the boys out of the house as much as I'd like to so as they can burn off all that excess energy. So with summer just around the corner and the weather improving, the hubbie and I decided to buy something the boys could play with and enjoy in the garden. They're still a bit too young for a climbing frame, but a sandpit seemed like a perfect option. We ordered a one meter square sandpit made by Selwood products the other week and it arrived in time for the weekend. It's a flat pack kit, so needs assembling, but it's super simple to do. Then all you have to do is nip down to your local Homebase or B&Q to get some special sandpit sand and you're away. The weather was fantastic this weekend, dry and sunny, if a little cold, and we got the boys straight out there to see how they got on. It was a resounding success and we had great fun outside digging in the sand and filling up a toy lorry with sand and moving it around. My attempted sandcastles were a bit of a disaster and never stood for long than a few seconds before one of the boys crashed into it with an out of control tractor. We had fantastic fun and with the supplied cover I know the sand won't become victim to next doors cat and the rain won't wash the lot away. Safe to say the boys loved the sandpit and my walls are safe from 'creative flare' for the first time in ages.
