"Keeps them quiet for hours.…"
18-Apr-2012
Who'd have thought such tiny little bits of plastic could keep two bursting with energy little boys so happy and QUIET?!
Lego is the saviour of my sanity. Many hours can be passed happily with my 4 and 7 year olds designing their latest project them building it, then the obligatory tweaking to get it just right.
This is used every single day without fail.
It seems expensive to buy but per use it must end up costing a fraction of a pence.Read moreLessMumsnetter OvO

The one of the best toys we bought, the toy actually get used and played rather than kept. My son 3 yr old loves it, and keeps him and his dad busy for hours.

Comments from other Mumsnetters: "What can I say? It's a world-beater. Planning, engineering, concentration, imagination - Lego can do anything". "An old favourite that never goes out of fashion - and it's easy to add to. The only limit to this is the imagination and your supply of bricks." "If we threw out all their other toys, they'd hardly notice. My boys play with Lego every single day, in so many different ways. They have loads of the stuff, but every birthday or Christmas all they want is more Lego".

Well the boys started playing with 'standard' lego (as opposed to Duplo) when they were about 3. ds1 is now at secondary school and he still enjoys playing with lego. An unbeatable success - what a great invention.

Not sure who was more pleased when DS got a huge bucket of Lego, DS or DH! They play with it daily and built beautifull houses for me. Think you cant beat Lego, been going for decades (DS now has mine and DH lego bricks as well), difficult to break and can be built into anything you want.
only minus is that when step on the flipping bricks with your full weight it is rather painful!Read moreLessMumsnetter pickie

Brilliant! Lego is simply the best as far as my DS is concerned (& I love it too!). The bucket is always out and there is always some construction in progress. Combine it with a large base mat for even more options.
