Hoo ha has certainly had a positive impact on our son's attitude to learning his times tables. He loves playing the game, it's really is great fun, we play it as a tea time 'warm up'.

This turns some of my daughter's ever increasing homework into 'play'. She actually looks forward to playing Hoo Hah and is learning all her times tables without realising it.

Found this brilliant new game called HOO HA! for learning times tables, it's really simple, great fun to play and genuinely educational.
I bought the game for my seven year old who has just started to learn his 3, 4, and 6 times tables at school. He took to the game immediately, no nagging or encouraging, which was a relief (nobody likes learning their tables).
We play it as a family, and the game has definitely had a positive impact on his recall of his times tables and his concentration. The remarkable thing is that he actually looks forward to playing the game and so do his friends (a change from video games) and was enthusiastic enough to take it into school to show his teacher for the Y3 show and tell sessions.
The game is a matching pairs game, that teaches the times tables non-sequentially (no more rote learning).
Unlike other times tables games you don't have to know your times times tables to play the game, which means there is no pressure to instantly recall, so he is happy to play the game over and over, and after a while you can hear them muttering the answers. It's a really simple and inspired idea!!
You have to make sure they read out what is says on the cards, if they don't they have to miss their next go, it's the reading and of course the shouting of Hoo Ha when you get a matching pair that makes the game.
