"Great for children from about 18 months +. The houses"
07-Dec-2010
Great for children from about 18 months +. The houses didn't get much play TBH but the fairground and bus did. DD still plays with it now at 3.5 yrs.

"My DD loves this toy - she's had it since"
15-Nov-2010
My DD loves this toy - she's had it since she was about 14 months, and continues to go back to it time and time again, even supposing she has lots of other toys. Agree with comment that the animals stand up robustly to extreme chewing!

21-Oct-2009
We love happyland - both my 1 yr old and 3 yr old can spend ages playing with these sets. 1yr old just puts figures in and out and drives cars but 3yr old manages complicated stories. A really good multi-age toy. Only criticism is cost - slightly expensive but you can pick up bundles on ebay

"These are great, although I have never put batteries in"
12-Mar-2009
These are great, although I have never put batteries in the house, after being driven mad by the constant sound of eggs frying and a kettle boiling in the camping set! Very robust, and played with loads by DD (2). I have already posted by throughts on their gender-sterotyped packaging though!!

06-Mar-2009
DD has a couple of happy land sets - school and farm. She enjoys it more now than she used to, she prefers to play with the people and animals on their own than with the equipment that comes with it.

My Ds loves his farm, fire station and airport set.
The police station and post office aren't so popular and are definately made from the same mould looking very similar.
The sets are a good starter for imaginative play and well made on the whole.Read moreLessMumsnetter TheSonnetts

"We love these sets. Our 18 month old loves all"
02-Mar-2009
We love these sets. Our 18 month old loves all the sound effects etc, but even when the batteries have gone, they stimulate his imagination and he can play with them for ages. Well made, great toys.

27-Feb-2009
We love happyland toys. We bought the startup set which was good value and the playmat which pulls it all together and zips up into a storage box. DS (2) and dd (4) will both play with it for hours. Only downside for me is that it's a bit pricey but I believe it will last a long time.

"DS loved this from 18 months and is still getting"
07-Nov-2008
DS loved this from 18 months and is still getting more out of it now as he develops imaginative play. The animals are really robust and tolerate chewing! The only down side is the doors which keep falling off, and the tractor and trailer are a bit fiddly to fit together but he's getting the hang of it now (aged 2 1/2). The animal noises aren't too awful either!

All ages 1 - 6
With 3 children we have accumulated a lot of Happyland and it still gets played with by all 3. I have had a houseful of children ranging from 18 months to 8 playing with it. A good investment and a toy I don't mind playing with them.Read moreLessMumsnetter changer22

23-Oct-2008
Lovely toys that allow your children to play imaginatively. Very sturdy and colourful and keep there value, so when your child grows out of them you can sell them on easily. My 2 year old plays quite happily on her own with the HappyLand people. The fairground merry-go-round is her favourite!

"We have a few of these sets for our girls"
04-Oct-2007
We have a few of these sets for our girls aged 1.5 and almost 3. Our 7 year old son often plays with these as well, the castle being the favourite set at the moment. Well built sturdy playsets and lovely chunky little play figures. I will definitely be buying more happy land sets in the future.

"Simply the best toys we have had for the children"
10-Sep-2007
Simply the best toys we have had for the children when they were little. Simple, chunky playsets with people, cars, houses, farm etc. Lots of different sets that all fit together, ranging in price from £5 to £30 pounds. Easy for little hands to grip and play with - they love marching the little people around, taking them in the bath etc etc. Our little ones have spent half their lives playing with these sets, and given us hours of peace and quiet.

07-Jan-2007
"Initially we thought this was expensive but my daughter is now approaching three and it has been played with almost every day since bought." "The noises can drive you mad, but the house is simple and allows hours of imaginary play in all the basic aspects of the home - yes, even the toilet flushes!" "You can add to the collection with things like the playground, beach hut etc" and "it's toddler proof." "We have the farm, house, hospital, and train set, along with extra animals and people. Every child who visits seems to enjoy them too."

Great for encouraging play at different ages and using the various sets to mix and match. DS started off with the farm at 18 months which he loved (bought after seeing him play with the house at a friends for an hour, pressing the buttons for the loo and tv noises) and has now graduated on to the church (his latest interest despite the best efforts of his parents). Yesterday he married the horses from the farm!
