"Dangerous…"

My four month old had enjoyed playing in this for a couple of days he is big for his age. Put him into it today exactly the same way as yesterday. He was in it less than two minutes when he toppled over in it and banged his head off the Ground cue lots of crying and a bump on the head. Needless to say wont be using it again.

"Great for baby and you - but enjoyed by only 1 out of 2 of my DCs…"

I bought this for my DD who enjoyed it - I used to hang it in the kitchen doorway and used to get about 20 minutes of being able to get things done before she wanted to come out. My DS on the other hand hated it - always wondered whether it was putting pressure in the wrong places, him being a boy!
A bit fiddly to get them into, I found (but easier than getting them into a sling!)Read moreLessMumsnetter AliMonkey

I have bought one of these for my baby boy and he has been using it for about 2 months. He absolutely loves it. I have put in the doorway between the lounge and the kitchen and he loves seeing me as he safely bounces until his hearts content.

My daughter loves to bounce in hers and I found teatime a great time to bring it out. Got her giggling again while I made some dinner, for her and/or us. I did always mean to get more things done but couldn't as I wanted to hang out with her having fun!

I'd rate a baby bouncer 10, my baby loved it, and was quite fascinated by it. He is entertained for hours and while he's playing I have time to get housework done. It is great!

Comments from other mumsnetters: "Hands free entertainment for me, good support for baby in upright position". "Going in the bouncer always made my baby smile and laugh - great fun!" "It's amazing how high my son could bounce in this. He loved it". "It's easily adjustable for any door frame and easy to clean". "Be warned - one of mine loved this, the other one howled every time I got it out, so it's worth trying it out at someone else's house before buying it!"

Bought a Tippitoes bouncer and our son loved it, would go hell for leather in it and was happy to play in it for up to 45 minutes! Our new baby girl is a little hesitant about it and will play very gently in it for around 10 - 15 mins max. But for me, I can whizz around doing stuff, can see baby and baby is happy. Definitely recommend.

"You can get a whole lot done in twenty minutes…"
07-Jan-2007
You can get a whole lot done in twenty minutes - have a shower, get dressed and do your hair if you're lucky! A baby bouncer meant freedom to me with a baby that hated playing in her cot or on her own, but loved to bounce. It was just a shame she got so strong by eight months that she was able to propel herself headlong into the doorframe. Fortunately there was little damage to either. The clip above the door didn't damamge our paintwork (some mums were concerned and didn't get a bouncer because they were worried about their woodwork) and baby found the use of her legs. She could bounce, and I was hands free!

Lindam baby door bouncer - cost about £30 and lasted from 3 months until a year. Great value, still looks great and has now been used by 3 babies. Hangs in most doorways easily, doesn't take up too much room. We even took ours on holiday with us.
