"I have been on the periphery of the Floatees promotion…"
I have been on the periphery of the Floatees promotion for some time and was delighted to read your recent subscribers comments regarding the pleasure that they
brought to a recent children's party.

I thought that it might be sensible to add my own (second hand) experiences to these observations.

I recently arranged for a Party Pack to be supplied by Floatees, sufficient for a children's party comprising of 45 children of 5 to 6 years old.

I am pleased to say that the children really enjoyed playing with the Floatees, much the same as your correspondent reports; however, there was an issue for the
organiser that is worth mentioning.

The children played with the inflated balloons and baskets for around 45 minutes but it took over two hours to inflate and put ribbons on the 45 to 50 balloons that were
required. It would have been easier to buy the balloons pre-inflated and this would have saved a lot of organiser's time. If the party had been for 15 children or less this
may not have been a problem.

The Floatees product itself is the little paper basket designed to hang under the helium balloon, if time is at a premium it would be perfectly reasonable to order pre-inflated
balloons 24 hours in advance from a third party, for example, saving the necessity for supervisors or participants to be involved in this aspect.

My advice, if you are having a party for over 15 children, would be to simply order the Floatees themselves from the Floatees website and have pre-inflated balloons
delivered or prepared by your local balloon shop. I believe that Floatees will make this clearer on their website from now on.Read moreLess
"Not sure whether anyone has heard of these yet? Flowtees…"
Not sure whether anyone has heard of these yet? Flowtees are pretty new on the market.
They are colourful paper balloon baskets (like mini hot air balloon baskets), which come ready to assemble and make a novel decoration for parties and special occasions.
When you've put them together (once you've done one, it's easy), you simply attach them by a ribbon to a helium balloon.
They then float around the party venue and look good! It's a bit different from a standard helium balloon and gives you the option to have them floating around rather than stuck to the ceiling or weighted down.
We tried out a pack of 25 for my daughter's 5th birthday party - the Flowtees team sent out a great bundle which included everything we needed: lots of helium balloons in a variety of great colours, some hi-float to help the balloons stay inflated for longer, a big canister of helium, ribbons and the Flowtees baskets themselves.
Flowtees come in a coloured/designed option (we got some free samples and they looked very cute) and a version that's ready for kids to colour in and add their names to - we got the colour-in version, as it seemed a fun idea to get the kids to decorate their own. Girls got a butterfly/cupcake design; boys got a dino design, so everyone was happy.
We found the baskets quick to assemble, and the fact that the balloons came with valves and also with ribbon pre-attached to the valves made the whole process of attaching the balloons to the baskets very smooth. It seemed very well thought through, and came with clear instructions.
When we were using the baskets, two things came to mind:
1. The colour-in options would be great for an at-home or small venue party with up to 10 kids, where you can have a craft table. Decorating the baskets is a nice activity, and the kids were excited to take their Flowtees home at the end. You could even pop some sweeties in them to bring them back down to ground level at the end of the party.
2. A couple of mums at the party suggested that the balloon baskets would look great at a big event like a wedding - a lot of them floating above head level could look very effective.
It was nice to do something different at my daughter's party, and kids adore balloons, so the Flowtees were a big hit. It's a unique idea and lots of fun. Recommended.Read moreLess
