We love the grobags. We find our toddler wriggles around too much and was ending up cold around the 2am - 3am mark and waking up. The grobags moved with him keeping him warm.

After both of our kids were done with swaddling – around the six-month mark – they went straight into Grobags. And along the way, it just became synonymous with sleep.

Fantastic product. We didn't move onto them till a few months in when our son started regularly kicking off his blanket(s)/sheet. The design is so simple and practical. Removes worries about baby getting cold or tangled up in blankets once they are more mobile. Also great as a comforting part of baby's sleep routine-putting on the sleeping bag signals nap/bedtime. Essential product in my opinion! Only thing I would say is they're quite pricey - there are cheaper versions but once we started with Grobags we felt we wanted to stick with them as we knew which tog and what clothes our little one would need at various room temperatures.

Comments from Mumsnetters: What better gift to new parents than the gift of sleep? As one reviewer put it: "As soon as my twelve week old son starting using the sleeping bag it transformed our lives - he slept happily through the night - no kicking off his covers and waking up cold". Grobags come in 2.5 tog for winter or 1 tog for summer and in "lots of different stylish designs and colours". What's more, it's a perfect gift as "first-time parents will not always twig how helpful a sleeping bag is in securing a good night's sleep - we didn't".

Oh my god how could I have done without one. I have a very active baby. All the books say don't put your child in a sleeping bag too young. But my daughter riggles up the way and I spent many sleepless nights pulling the cover back on her. A tired mum equals a grumpy one. Buy that sleeping bag now. Luckily my midwife said it was fine.

I was given a beautiful grobag for my daughters birth and its been a life saver. Not only do they keep the baby warm secure and snug, now she's 7 months they stop her from getting her feet/legs caught in the cot bars. So all round perfect gift!

These are a definite must have, they keep baby snug and comforted through the night, my baby girl used to sleep all through the nights and I had to wake her up in the mornings (I'm not saying that this was entirely due to the grobags but I think they definitely contributed to contented baby and mummy).

20-Feb-2009
I have used Grobags with both my sons and they have been the single most useful item we ever bought. They're very hard wearing and comforting, the boys can throw the covers off and don't freeze. They also stop them climbing out of their cots until they're at least 18 months old - and even then they have to be pretty determined!

Fantastic - a much used gift, that we did not rate until we used it. Especially when in a cot (they look so small when you first take them out of the Moses basket), this stops any child from separating from their covers at night - no matter how much they move; hence they do not wake up feeling cold...

A perfect gift for new parents since you need at least two for each stage (0-6 months, 6-18 months etc) and they don't come cheap. After swaddling for the first few weeks, the sleeping bag really comes into its own and saves the fuss of blankets.

Grobags are a great newborn gift - not only are they quite pricey to buy yourself but they are actually something useful that will get used everyday and not another blooming cuddly toy.
They stop babies rolling over and are really easy to gauge what clothes baby needs in the night. My children have always slept well in them and I havent had to faff around with blankets.Read moreLessMumsnetter giantkatestacks

These are an absolute must-have. We have used this for both our children and they are perfect - especially for little wrigglers who kick covers off regularly.
It also means you can change baby's nappy at night without disturbing them to much. Nor will they get too cold. It means you can move a baby around a bit if necessary too. A friend has just had a baby and this is the first thing i picked up for her baby.Read moreLessMumsnetter SaintJude

How did parents cope before Grobags, I think they are one of the greatest things ever. Ours have been passed down through four children and are still in fab condition ready for the next one to arrive. We always take them on trips away so even though children are in different beds they have a familiar reminder which seems to help settle them.

27-Jul-2007
A great product for keeping babies at the right temperature particularly as each grobag comes with a room thermometer and a guide to togs (a baffling subject!). Only criticism is they are quite bulky on smaller babies and got in the way when breastfeeding at night; a friend suggested removing baby to feed but this defeated the object of keeping baby at a constant temperature!

I highly recommend the sleeping bag. before we got one we were regularly awoken by cold baby. Since then we've never had the same problem - in fact they are so well made it's lasted constant use through three children. I find ones that have the zip closing upwards rather than downwards better. 10/10

We thought this sounded like a great idea, and got my grandparents to buy one. Then we found that we have the world's hottest baby, who doesn't have covers or blankets, whatever the weather. He managed to spend about 30 minutes in it before becoming incredibly hot and sweaty (who said baby's don't sweat?!). A great idea, but check that your child needs blankets before buying or using.

Every new parent for whom I have bought a grobag, without exception (and there have been a few) has said that this was the best and most useful gift that they received. Often I find that first time parents don't consider grobags; they go with the traditional cot sheet, cot blanket combination, not realising that grobags can be so useful from an early age. They are great - provide warmth without restriction and there is no fear that baby will kick off the covers and wake up or entangle itself in its sheets (one less thing for a paranoid new parent to worry about!).
