"I got the grey blanket and am in love! It's the softest blanket I've ever seen, and I'm sure baby will love it in these winter months. A little smaller than I had expected, but absolutely adorable

"La Millou Handmade Organic Baby Blanket…"
01-Aug-2012
I bought recently one of La Millou's Handmade Organic Baby Blankets and simply Luv It!!! I got the Strawberry Fields themed blanket which is unbelievably soft and snugly and most of all, so colorful. It definitely makes my baby and buggy stand out from the crowd! I bought it online from www.peekaboo.co.uk and although it comes with a price tag it was money well spent!

I love the Stripy Company Blankets. The knitted 100% cotton blankets are big enough to use as a swaddeling blanket for newborns but also warm enough to use as a pram blanket so you can use them from birth but still be using them when they are toddlers. My children use them on car journey. They wash really well too

25-Jan-2011
I bought a crocheted granny squares blanket from Rocket and Bear last month in a timely fashion, even though I live in Northern California and it had been holiday season. I have to confess it was a present for myself. Since receiving it, I've enjoyed precious "alone time," crashed on the sofa with my blanket, tea, and a good read or movie. The colors are so cheerful and hip: my boys keep trying to use it. I follow the affixed label in terms of care, as it's a quality item (obviously made with care) and I cherish it. I definitely will be ordering more blankets in future!

17-Jan-2011
I was absolutely thrilled when I found Lucy's Rocket and Bear! I have a boutique baby gift business in Toronto, Canada, and I strive to find handmade, quality gifts for my customers. I'm always looking for the 'perfect' baby blanket, and I know that I've finally found that in Lucy's shop. Recently I took one of Lucy's sensational blankets to a baby shower, which was clearly the showstopper of the day when all the ladies were in awe when mom-to-be pulled it out of its wrapping. You simply can not go wrong with the vibrant fun and quality that Lucy lovingly puts into her blankets. I will be a faithful customer at Rocket and Bear forever :)

I have three blankets from Rocket and Bear and my children love them. They have them on their beds but insist on taking them in the car if we are going on a long journey. They are beautifully made and definitely among my favourite things that I have ever got for my children. Rocket and Bear products are hand made by Lucy Gulotti and the website is well worth looking at. She also makes great t-shirts with your child's favourite teddy printed on them. Great products.

I bought a blanket from rocketandbear via Etsy as a gift for my god-daughter. It was beautiful, with that fantastic soft homemade feel. The colours and textures (with little baubles) were great for the baby. My sister-in law said it was one of the best and most useful gifts she received - it is always on hand to throw over the baby in the car seat or the buggy and seems to go everywhere with them!

I bought a blanket from www.rocketandbear.com I wanted a handmade blanket that I might have made myself if I'd had the time or the know how. Lucy makes all her blankets and shes ace! Its a few years old now and a firm favorite with my small friend really think wool with crochet around the edge just lush and easy to look after its like my dads old woolly jumper and I love it nearly as much as my boy. I would recommend her to anyone she does great T shirts too!

07-Dec-2010
Comments from Mumsnetters: A baby blanket is "one of those things that does loads of jobs in one. It's brilliant as a shawl, a blanket for the pushchair and, as they get older, a play mat". "These from Hippins are lovely gifts as they are personalised". They work really well as swaddling blankets or simply as something attractive to wrap around your little newborn if you can't face struggling with cardigans and coats". Alternatively you could splash out on a "luxurious cashmere one from Brora", or for the more practically-minded a fleece version which is "easily washed".

I bought a personalised blanket from www.cashmeretots.co.uk & i have to say its the most adorable thing ever!!! I bought it for my best friends baby & its the softest most more'ish thing ever!!! I want one myself!! Wish they did them in adult sizes, I could just see myself wrapped up on the couch in one of them, although i could never afford it!! My friend loves it & says she'll use it for years, it's so hard to find lifelong gifts for a baby. anyway, i totally recommend them, great service & a great idea.

I love my Organic Thermacell wool blankets I was given! It is so light - but my baby stays warm. It lets her move too, which is important. Also the wool made to use it is natural and safe - no chemicals! I got it from WhiteCloudTrading... I would really recommend it. I wish I found out about them earlier!

I was searching around for a blanket a little different from the usuaal offerings. I found a brilliant selection of blankets on a website called www.beandrops.co.uk. I bought a pink organic one decorated with butterflies and a beautiful velvet cot sized one decorated with Lola the Cow. Do have a look -the blankets wash brilliantly and are a firm favourite. Thanks Beandrops!

A blanket is such a lovely gift as it's not only practical but makes such a beautiful keepsake for a child as they get older. My husband actually still has a couple of his old baby blankets, that were given to him as gifts over three decades ago! Provided they are good quality and are well cared for, they certainly can last!

I was given a beautiful waffle blanket from Atlantic Blanket and it is one of those things that has multi uses. Apart from all the obvious I also use it when out and about to feed my daughter more discreetly. It is beautifully soft and just the right size to be carried around everywhere, some blankets are just too big and bulky! A real treat and a very special gift that will stay in the family for generations to come.

11-Jul-2007
I recently ordered a personalised blanket from hippins for a friend's baby. The quality was excellent and with a range of colours to choose from. The only downside is having to wait 14 days for delivery and having to wait until you know the baby's name you cant order in advance. It was worth the wait because it came beautifully packaged and immediately became that baby's special pram blanket and was big enough to grow with him into childhood.

I received a Petit Bateau very light weight stripey blanket when dd was born and it's fab. You can use it when it's just a bit nippy but it's also quite cosy for colder weather. You can also use it as a sheet and I've seen some little ones using it as their soother-type thing. What's more, it's dead pretty!

We were lucky enough to receive a couple of hand-made blankets (knitted and crocheted) which we will keep for baby Sonny - they made a lovely personalised present. For one, I bought some wool and my grandmother knitted "squares" and my mother sewed them into a blanket, then when we need a bigger blanket (maybe for his bed) I'll get them to knit some more and just extend it!
