22-Mar-2009
I like to give Clarins beauty flash balm and handcream for an instant perk up after the lack of sleep and all the extra hand washing after nappy changes.

Lovely beauty products, I was bought some lovely covent garden bath oils, body moisturising lotion and body mist. Luckily DD slept well so I did get some time to use them! In particular I found the body mist great as it was very luxurious and helped to perk me up and feel womanly with a quick spray if I was waning.

A nice box of things like a half bottle of champagne, a little photo frame, some good quality massage or bath oil and a 'night off' voucher with free babysitting when they feel ready.

A fantastic idea. So much focus goes on the baby that it's nice for the mum to feel cared for & pampered too! Wish someone had bought me some!

Perfect, a new mum could want for nothing more. All but 1 friend gave me things for the baby naturally, so when someone bought me goodies for me I was over the moon!!! Mum babysat so that I could have a really good long soak in the bath, it made me feel a million times better and meant I had to have some me time and feel special too.

I was given Elemis Japanese Camellia Oil by my friend for use on stretchmarks or even before they appear. It was the most amazing oil, after having tried Clarins body oil, this was loads better. I used it from about 3months and even though I gained 2.5 st with each pregnancy,(9lb13oz babies!) I didn't develop any marks on my tummy or back. In fact the only place I did get stretch marks was my boobs, which I forgot about! I still have just under half a bottle left of 200ml, so hopefully, i will be using that this time next year ;)

I was given Molton Brown handwash & hand lotion after the birth of our DS. I suffer with very dry skin, and my hands were badly chapped with all the washing required after nappy changes etc. These products made my skin feel loads smoother and healthier, and - although costly - I would recommend them as a gift if you can afford to splash out.
