"Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream…"

We use this on everything - scratches sores bites spots it's the best. My younger daughter gets mild skin rash and a bit of this relieves things. Then in winter when the skin on my nails is dry, whack this on at night and next mornign they are much better. I've used it for more than 40 years - it was the first moisturiser my mother gave me!

This is a great gift, as it's not something you think to buy when expecting a baby. But very useful.

I don't think I'd ever washed my hands so much as when I had my first, and soon they were drying out from all the soap. Molton Brown Hand Cream is luxuriously expensive so feels like a treat, and does the job well.

As a mum of two children under the age of five, my hands are prone to becoming dry and irritated through lots of washing up and the elements!
Having tried lots of different hand creams to no avail, ranging from the most expensive brands to supermarket brands - I came across this fantastic product!
Anatomicals Help the Paw hand cream comes in a fantastic bright purple tube and does exactly what it says! It smells nice, it absorbs into the skin and does not leave your hands feeling greasy.
Its very soothing and contains sweet almond oil and vitamin e which have made my rough feeling hands very soft and smooth. The good news is that it lasts for ages and a little goes a long way!
So if your looking for a product to pamper your neglected mitts then I would highly recommend this hand cream.Read moreLessMumsnetter beckybott

Clarins Handcream was a perfect gift when I had my daughter. I had no idea how dried and chapped my hands would get with the constant washing after nappy changes and also with the constant cleaning. It was SO nice to have a lovely cream that made me feel like I was spoiling myself - particularly as the rest of me felt so awful!

I think that Body Shop Almond Hand Rescue Treatment is the best hand cream on the market and when you are washing your hands all the time with a newborn, you really need it.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Handcream was the most thoughtful gift I was given when my daughter was born - I was constantly washing my hands, and having this around made such a difference. No more scaly paws... It's not cheap, but I have bought it for several friends who've all loved it.

I was astounded at how much I had to wash my hands with a newborn and having some nice hand cream to soothe the chapped fingers was bliss. Molten Brown and Clarins both do wonderful heavy but not greasy creams.
