"My husband has a head torch and uses it All"
01-Jun-2011
My husband has a head torch and uses it All the time. Not only is it a great gadget, men seem to love putting it on their head - going into cave-mining mode perhaps. Great gift and not too expensive either.

"This is fantastic as it means that I don't have"
11-May-2010
This is fantastic as it means that I don't have to hold a torch for my husband while he's spreadeagled on the floor tinkering with his Triumph Herald. Now he is self sufficient in the garage, and, don't tell him this bit....but he looks a little like Bruce Willis when he's wearing it....

"This is such a massively useful thing you will wonder"
09-May-2010
This is such a massively useful thing you will wonder why you didn't have one before. I use (his) for getting salad and herbs out of the garden in the dark, looking for the hedgehog, and finding the compost bin, he uses it for the barbecue and loads of other stuff. DH was v pleased with it as a present.

"Although the product depicted in the photo is of a"
13-Mar-2009
Although the product depicted in the photo is of a particular ( fairly expensive ) brand, headtorches in general are a great idea now that LED technology makes them light, strong and efficient. As with everything you get what you pay for and the features to compare are battery life/ power saving functions, led power, an easy to use switch, waterproofness. Steer clear of pointless multiple flashing modes but a red option can be useful. Useful for any activity where a hands free light source is useful ( from scrabbling behind the tele trying to figure out where to plug the leads to a cycle light after the last person left the bike lights on..)

"This is an excellent present idea! My partner already has"
12-Mar-2009
This is an excellent present idea! My partner already has one and we use it so often. Handy for up in the loft and any job when its dark and you need both hands. I think the thing it most regularly gets used for is when i send him out into the garden to get herbs whilst i'm cooking.
Unlike a lot of gifts its not gimmicky, just very very practical and makes a great value for money pressieRead moreLessMumsnetter fridaysmonkey

"This is a fantastic idea as a gift for Dad's."
06-Jun-2008
This is a fantastic idea as a gift for Dad's. The Head Torch is really useful for camping trips, changing a tyre at night and looking for your cat/dog in the garden when they don't want to come in. Also can be used if you haven't got a light in your loft or reading in bed if you don't want the main light on! Admittedly, this gift is more practical than luxury, but every Dad should have one!
