"Good idea but needs more refinement.…"
I actually have one of these phones. The features sound great but it needs work to be useful. As a basic very small phone I think it's fine. As a tracking phone I think most people would find it's performance disappointing and the configuration confusing.
The first problem is if you are using this in any country other than china there is no documentation on how to configure the data connection on the phone to work any carrier other than the default one. It's not documented in the manual. That means none of the tracking features that use the website will work. (The secret command is "set apn:XXX")
The next problem is although the GPS is a good one I've found it doesn't work in any of the buildings where my son goes. So using the SMS based tracking you don't get any location information. The website can use LBS (cell tower) information to figure out where the phone is within 1 kilometer or so.
Of course it has all the typical cheap chinese product issues - poorly written manual, menus on the phone that are poorly translated english, no local warranty support.
The phone is very small so it's a good size for kids.Read moreLess
"Brilliant safety feature for your child, small but perfect for little hands…"
There is nothing else out there like it that i can find. It has GPS tracking, so if theres an emergency your child can press the SOS button and it will call 4 pre programmed numbers simultaniously until someone answers. It can send you a text when your child reaches a certain location. Numbers that the phone doesn't recognise won't be connected or able to text it. It's fantastic. More of a safety feature for your child than a mobile phone. Brill xxx
There's two different models one for older and one for youger kids.Read moreLess
