"British accent and simple idea, great addictive animal learning app…"
The game is utterly addictive, unlike most of the other animal apps out there which just ask you to turn the page for the next animal or touch the animal to hear its name or the noise it makes.
In Sticky Words Animals, the app shows two pictures of animals, and asks your child in a nice British accent to touch a particular one. If your child gets it wrong, the voice explains that it's the wrong one, and says the name of the one that was touched, and then it asks again to touch the right one.
When your child gets it right, the phone vibrates, there's a success message, and re-enforcement of the correct animal's name. Then a new choice is presented and a new animal is requested.
There are three languages, British English, French, and Mandarin Chinese for the ambitious parents out there.
My special needs 18 month-old son will happily spend up to 30 minutes touching the animal the app tells him to touch in a nice clean British accent, but the bonus was when I found that he had moved to Chinese and was touching the proper animal there too! I'll confess that I've had a go myself and it's quite hard to put down, particularly in the other languages :D
I guess I mainly like that it's not an American accent, and that there's something for my boy to do that keeps him engaged and learning all the while.Read moreLess
