"8 year old loves it!…"
I think that this app is fantastic for teaching children a basic knowledge of construction and combining materials/elements. The world is vast and can be as detailed as you or your child create. The controls, I found to be a little tricky to move about but the 8yo I was using the app with found it fairly intuitive.Read moreLess
My kids love this game. It is so creative, a world they make houses, pirate ships etc. I was amazed when my 5 year old said you made glass by heating up sand - he had learnt that in Minecraft!Read moreLess

"Minecraft is an AWESOME game for children. It's creative and collaborative and just cool!…"
Basically it's a bit like Lego with zombies. <br>Minecraft is a PC/Mac game originally but there is now a PocketEdition for iPods/iPads/iPhones. <br>In Minecraft you live in a world made of blocks and you collect resources (wood from felling trees, coal from mining etc) and use them to build things like houses, castles, towns. You can play on a 'peaceful' mode or if you're up for it, survival mode complete with skeleton archers and not-very-scary zombies. Gives good motivation for building a shelter!<br>I can't really do it justice in a single post but it is one of the best games I've come across for kids, teenagers (and adults!), really encourages some amazing, imaginative gameplay.<br>Best of all, if you're on one wifi network you can join each other's world and work together to gather and build. Imaginative and collaborative - Great combo.<br>There's little nicer than hearing your daughter and son in a minecraft convo:<br>"Help I'm lost in the mine!"<br>"Don't worry I'm coming and I've got the torches!"Read moreLess
