"Strange waxy feel on the hair but amazing results…"
Toni & Guy, not my typo!
I use mousse usually. I have very fine hair with the weakest sort of wave and I want lift and heaviness. A small gust and it just flies into wacky shapes and stays there. The best volumiser I ever used was by La Coupe, called Voluptress, and I got it from TK Maxx and you can't get it any more in this country. I got this 'plumping whip' because it's also a white gunk rather than a mousse, and I hoped it might have a similar effect.
Well, it does and it doesn't. The Voluptress is invisible and intangible on the hair. This is much lighter in the pot. They say use a walnut sized amount but I'm thinking that would be a bit crazy. I use maybe a hazelnut in its shell size, I have medium length hair. Then I blow it dry, whirl it into a single Molton Browner soft roller, and leave to cool. When it comes out, I have a gentle wave and my hair really feels weightier and looks a lot pouffier. The difference between this and mousse is it doesn't seem to fall flat as the day goes on, it survives a few brushings. It feels thicker all day. I always wash my hair every day so I can't tell you what it's like the next day. I use it every time I'm going somewhere nice and use mousse when I'm not, because it's more expensive than mousse, the pot doesn't last very long.Read moreLess
