"lovely pram…"
30-Mar-2013
I couldnt believe the reviews on this pram. I hav e it and love it. Easy to fold away and to change into different type of pram. I used as pram for first month or so and then used with the car seat on it as my son likes to see around him. When he hit 6-7 months i changed it into a front facing push chair and he loves it. The pram steers well and isn't to heavy but heavy enough so it isn't blown all over the place. Its sturdy so i know it will last for my next baby.

"LOVE AND HATE THIS PRAM!…"
04-Mar-2013
I brought this travel system in Ventura colours in August for my first baby. Along with car seat!
The carseat is good although very heavy is sturdy and I can't complain.
I loved the pram as parent facing. It was cosy, comfortable and easy to clean! My newborn looked very happy in it. Although he outgrew it by 14 weeks old!! This was January! Way too cold to put a small baby in a stroller, with cold winds straight in his face!!
The stroller part is also good but would recommend for 1yr plus.
Is a heavy/bulky pushchair but if space is no limit and you do alot of walking like me then it doesn't really matter.
Not the easiest to fold! Or pack away. I only used mine 4 months and it already has scratches on the frame (I kept it very well!)
Overall good for newborn, good for older child. Nothing for inbetween!
The raincover also ripped in this time but silvercross replaced it free of charge from just a polite email from me!
I have to admit I'm dissappointed with this purchase and wish I'd looked at reviews before buying! I know have the quinny buzz 3, its so light and I'm happy with it :)Read moreLessMumsnetter kellyandisaac

i bought this pram as i have always loved silver cross and have the coach built pram. but im feeling really let down by silver cross. My son is already to big for the lay flat at 10 weeks old,and is to young to use the pushchair part as the straps are not tight enough. my partner finds it hard to push as the handles do not extend enough (he's 6ft) i cant get the changing bag to match mine. it extremely heavy and not easy to push up hill. the car seat takes for ever to put in the car! i would not recommend this pram, this morning i have ordered the Obaby zezu

17-Nov-2012
Hated it!! At first it was great, id always wanted a silver cross and really liked the look of the 3d and it came with a car seat; Brilliant, i rushed into buying it at 24 weeks pregnant!! I thought it was everything that i wanted until my dd was born. She outgrew the lay down pram part within 8 weeks and she wasn't a big baby at all weighing only 6'8 at birth. She was still too small to place in the outward facing position (personal preference i guess?) so had to use with the car seat attached all the time, which made it really heavy, nothing like how it was with the lay down part attached, getting up curbs was a nightmare!! Also it was impossible to push and steer with 1 hand if i needed to do something with my other hand, didn't like the feel of the push, I think it felt cheap and rattly, over all really ended up hating this pram. My DD is now 16 weeks old and i have just brought a different pram. Only part i liked about this pram was the car seat looked comfy.

What a waste of money - so very heavy, doesn't fold easily, takes up most of the space in the boot of the car, the breaks unlock them selves and is just generally wobbly! Really regret this purchase! I would take it back if I had not lost the receipt!

Terrible design!!!
For any mum considering buying the pram I wouldnt waste your money.
Its very very heavy, difficult to fold/unfold, takes up all the room in my car boot.
I bought this as i liked the look/style of it but do not think its worth the money.
When using the carry cot part the pram doesnt seem very stable. I havent used it as a pushchair yet as my daughter isnt old enough but after my use of it so far I cant see it being any better.
Finally I find the worst part of this travel system is the car seat....omg what a nightmare!!! I would definitely not reccoment buying this pram if you are a mum on the go. It takes forever the get the car seat into the car. When I take my eldest daughter to school in the car im finding i need to go out ten minutes earlier just to get the car seat fixed in. What a nightmare. Very poor product coming from whats supposed to be a good make....silver cross!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"I have this pram and have positive and negative feedback.…"
09-Feb-2012
I have this pram and have positive and negative feedback.
Positive: Good in the bad weather eg snow as it is heavy it will push through and all the seat seems comfortable.
Negative: The 'crib' section is too small and doesnt last long enough, my daughter couldn't support her self enough to sit in the seat, and kept sliding down. After a few weeks the stability of the pram seemed to be more 'wobbly'. It is not easy to get up or down. and because it is so heavy, when u want to shop and have a hand basket, it is very hard to steer with one hand.
I would say it was the best choice! I bought another pram when she was 10-12 weeks. also couldn't do a weekly shop with it in the boot.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

03-Feb-2012
I have been really disappointed with this pram. I initially chose it because I loved the look of it and silver cross has a great reputation. Unfortunately I have had nothing but problems with it. Firstly it jams when trying to open and close it, it is difficult to lock into place and after 5 weeks of minimal use it is starting to become very unstable. The pram section is rather small and because it folds in half when closed it doesn't lie flat so my daughters head falls to one side. I have contacted the retailer and will be returning it to exchange for a different pram. I did also buy the matching car seat but we have had problems with the handle not locking into place and jamming when trying to adjust, this is going back as well. Since having these problems I have spoken to other mums who have had the same problems. It is also very heavy and bulky, you will need a large boot to fit it in.

I thought the carrycot piece to this pram was very small - but the pushchair mode had plenty of space. It's a good hard-wearing pram that seen my son through 2 years and was still in great condition, and the carseat was also very easy to attach. The handles are adjustable but not much, so that wasn't so good - but apart from that a good pram i think!

We had this for our baby who is now 3 - she used it from birth as a pram and then as a pushchair until she was about 2.5 as she has since walked everywhere...Its great - I always felet she was comfy in its various guises, and only had trouble folding it when I left the basket full (totally full of weird things!)... have just taken it out of the loft for our new baby and it all seems to be good to go, despite the abuse it suffered including going in and out of several cars and haivng all sorts piled on it!

Heavy, and doesn't fold up as small as expected - but still smaller than many other pushchairs.
Love the mattress for babies & that babies can face towards you like a pram. Comes with foot-muff etc. As it converts to a stroller, I'm hoping it will last through the pushchair years - doesn't look like a buggy board would fit though.
Fits through doors as has small wheels. Decent size shopping basket, but not the easiest to get into when set up as a pram.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

10-Sep-2011
I have had this pushchair for two years now and think it is brilliant! My daughter was so cosy in the pram mode, the basket is nice and big and it's very practical for shopping. She is just as comfortable in the pushchair seat and it reclines easily for naps. It survived two years of being bumped up and down stairs with no damage or wear and tear. Unfortunately I was walking home yesterday and one of the back wheels fell off. It's such a shame but it was my fault as I have been weighing it down with heavy shopping for two years. I do wish it had lasted longer but all in all, a fab pushchair.

Absolutely awful. I don;t know what some of these other people are thinking but this pram will not: Fold up effectively, fit into the boot of a standard sized five door, go upstairs easily or leave you satisfied that you bought the right one. Seven weeks that is right Only seven weeks of everyday wear and tear and the pram stopped folding at all and then it became a comedy or errors trying to fit it in the car then. Pros it was comfortable and DD slept in the cot really nicely and it was maneuverable for its size

24-May-2011
I really thought I'd got a bargain when I brought this pram second hand, I'd looked at a lot of prams & thought that this one fitted my needs. When DS was born though I was just pleased that I hadn't bought a new one.
As a pram it looked very comfy & cosy for DS but he grew out of it at 4 months & was far too small for the pushchair. I also found it impossible to put up & down as it was so heavy & awkward. I don't drive so often took the bus but it was far too big for this & would block the aisle so I ended up using a sling & when I tried to get it into friends boots it wouldn't fit.
It does have hight adjustable handles but I found that I still ended up with a bad back if I were using it for any length of time.
I was really disappointed with it in the end & ended up selling it in order to buy something else. & I'd also second what others have said about it being flimsy, I really wouldn't have been happy with the quality if I'd paidRead moreLessMumsnetter SmilingandWaving

"The SilverCross 3D Is a fantastic pushchair. The liner is…"
18-May-2011
The SilverCross 3D Is a fantastic pushchair. The liner is only supposed to last the same as a carrycot i.e. 6months or until baby can be supporting their own head, this is when they should be turned around anyway. Also, some have said their babies heads were lower than their feet in newborn mode... you may find that the head hugger used in pushchair mode is in place - take this out and your problem will be solved.
As for it breaking and not being ablt to fold. make sure you put the seat unit fully upright position before folding. this makes sure the chassis doesn't bend while you're trying to force it shut.
Also, the handles wobble? yes, as will any pushchair/travel system that has 2 handles. thats just the way it is. As it doesn't have that join inbetween, they will wobble. And unfotunately it's not because of the product, it's everyday wear and tear. But remember, having two handles allows the pushchir to umbrella fold (Long and thin). If it didnt have two handles, when folded it probably wouldnt be able to get in half the car boots that it can now.
The pushchair isn't particularly lightweight, but please remember that you're folding a pushchair with alot of material on top of it. It's bound to be a little bit heavy.
Just remember, everything depends on the size, weight and growth of your baby. If you have a long baby, expect it to grow out of the liner quickly.Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

07-Apr-2011
I bought the 3d travel system as I could use the carry cot on it, the car seat attached it to it, then later used as a pushchair when my son was a bit older. Also came with a footmuff, raincover, umbrella and changing bag. Comes in lot of different colours. I have had no problems with it, and my son still occassionally uses it now and hes 22months. The only thing I would say is that it isnt vert lightweight. Was very good value for money for the whole system including the carseat.

We bought this travel system thinking we were buying a quality product from a reputable company. The frame folding mechanism broke after 4 weeks of use! I found the car seat very heavy to carry and difficult to clip on to the pushchair. The pushchair felt flimsy and the handles wobbled as it was pushed. The whole thing just did not feel study. When our baby was in the pram in laying flat, his head was lower than his feet! We were so disappointed and felt really let down by the product. I would not recommend this travel system to anyone!

"I luckily bought this pram second hand off a friend…"
06-Jan-2011
I luckily bought this pram second hand off a friend - I wouldn't buy one new! On a negative note: the pram is heavy and doesn't fit too well in the boot of the car when folded. The basket underneath is difficult to use and hanging changing bag / shopping from the handles can be quite annoying as they slip past or under the sliding button used to put the pram up/down. Also a bolt has just snapped on the chaise which makes putting the pram up impossible and when folded it doesn't stand up properly. The wheels do feel a bit flimsy! The car seat is not ISO fix and a plastic guard has come off that.
On a more positive note: The car seat fits in really well. The pram version is still in use (my baby is 16 weeks and 15lb 12oz) and is comfortable, the pushchair is great as it is cosy with the fluffmuff and airy without. There is loads of room for baba and both the pram and pushchair have great harnesses. The handles slide up for tall daddy and down for me! The hood is great and a portion is see-through when in pushchair mode so I can keep an eye on baba. I also like the fact that the rain cover works in both modes.
If you can get past the negs - a good pram.Read moreLessMumsnetter vix16

16-Dec-2010
A beautiful pram and buggy, I have had no troubles with it. I think it is very heavy, but in a weird way this makes me feel that baby is more secure and it is more than manageable. I found the car seat a waste of money and didn't like it much to be honest. I never used it on the frame and wish i had bought a better one that lasted longer than the 9 months use it got.
I love how traditional the pram looks and my son is still very cosy in the buggy at 16 months with plenty of room to move. I can get plenty of bags on the handle without it tipping over and a few bits in the basket. The basket is a good size but difficult to get into it, but i think this is a common problem.
Easy to put up and take down, and easy to keep clean.
Will be using for future babies as it has tonnes of use left in it.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

10-Oct-2010
I really dislike this pushchair to be honest i loved it when my baby was a newborn but that part of the pushchair is so small it lasted a matter of weeks and she is not a big baby by any means!!
Firstly i will start with the car seat it has ripped several tops and trousers as it is so heavy i have to hold it quite close to me my clothes then catch and it leaves massive rips in whatever you are wearing!! When you put the car sseat in the car it will take a while getting used to it as there is no iso fix base for it so you have to take it in and out each time
Then there is the pushchair part you cannot see yuou baby when they are in this as the hood does not have a see through part to be able to see them and you cannot turn the chair around to face you ok i guess for older babies but as the parm doesn't last that long is it suitable for a baby of 8 weeks?? between the newborn pram part and this i had ur baby in the car seat so had the mission of getting her in and out with the chair
The frame is quite wobbly it feels like it is going to fall apart at any moment!
Don't get me wrong if you are buying this for an older baby then it is great nit not before?Read moreLessMumsnetter sammijo85

09-Jul-2010
I loved this pram but had a problem with the brake. It came unlocked once on a hill when baby was in the car seat (luckily) locked into wheels section of pram. He rolled off down the hill and onto the road whilst I sorted the car.
Mothercare were fab and sent pram back for repair no problems but it did come back the same.
Silver Cross did fix the bent chassis (the pram was only 3 months old) but I feel the problem with the brake is a design fault, due to the way the pram folds small.
Again Mothercare were fab and allowed me to swap the pram for a complete new model as I had completely lost all confidence. The accident could have been so much worse and I wasnt willing to risk it.
I do however miss many of the features I initially chose the 3D for.
I wouldnt want to put anyone off this pram but feel everyone should be aware of this potential problem.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

Total disaster purchase. I purchased this towards the beginning of my pregnancy and have just had it delivered and its no good at all. Thought originally it was good value for money, coming with car sear & accessories, however its VERY heavy and not very easy to fold/unfold. Is fine if you wont be needing to collapse it and put it in the car very often. Also found it to be very plasticy and could imagine it to be unsafe, as you have to remember to click two parts in at the front which would be easy to forget to do.

MIL kindly bought the 3D for DC1. We seldom use it as started using a double from DC2 and then he went into a lightweight buggy.
Positives:
- Cosy in lie flat mode for newborn
- Reclines completely in buggy mode so good for little ones
- High handles
Negatives
- Bits falling off it nearly since we got it, hood zip broken despite never having been unzipped or even touched
- Wheels have to be clipped straight before pushchair can be folded
- Newborn option v small so lasts only a few weeks
- Difficult to manoeuvre
- Cumbersome and heavy

I love my 3D, although I agree that it can be heavy to lift in and out of the carboot. It's also hard to steer with one hand, so handsfree for your mobile is a must if you want to chat on the phone and keep on the move.
On the positives though,I love the pram insert for little babies, and how easy it is to click the Ventura car seat onto the chassis. Also love the fact that when you convert it to the pushchair, it lies completely flat when your little one is asleep. That's something I really missed when we changed over to a buggy.
Am expecting DC2 in a few months and really looking forward to getting the 3D out of the loft. Makes me very nostalgic for my now toddler's babyhood!Read moreLessMumsnetter cakeywakey

I dont understand the complaints of handles being too low - they extend & are some of the highest around (both me & dp are tall so handle hight a priority).
My dd has always looked comfy in this in both pram mode & pushchair mode. I've found it to be very sturdy & easy to push (except when i've accidentally locked the wheels!).
It is big but then it is a pushchair not a buggy & i found the folding system very easy to use.
Its great value for money with the footmuff, raincover & change bag which i found to be "hidden extras" when looking at other pushchairs.
The car seat makes my dd look very snug with the head support & again the cover & hood add to the value of it. Yes you do have to strap it in every time but its simple to do.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

A great choice for a pram from newborn. The carrycot part makes it a very cosy and comfortable ride for baby. It is quite bulky when folded with the carrycot in it..but still probably less bulky than most..and it is a bit heavy when getting it in and out of the boot. Still, I have no regrets buying this pram. Baby is very well catered for.

06-Sep-2009
Bought this for 3rd child born in April as pram looked lovely and good value as all accessories were included. He's tall so only lasted a month in carrycot part but it was very comfy for him. Pram is so heavy to lift into car that I've taken chunks out of my legs on several occasions. Due to weight it is also not great to manoevre and impossible with one hand and there is no suspension so it can be very bumpy. A bolt has just sheared off under chassis so it's going in for repair ( a common fault ) so we're using my 9 year old Mamas & Papas travel system and I suddenly realise how easy a pram should be to push and collapse. The 3d is comfy, looks good and is good value but I wish I'd paid a bit more for an easier system. You get what you pay for!

13-Jun-2009
I was very disappointed in my 3d. I liked the way it looked but have found that at 11 weeks my baby is getting too big for the pram mode (he is slightly longer than average but only a couple of centimetres) he moves around a lot so is quite restricted at the sides.
I have found the whole system a nightmare to travel with. I have carpal tunnel and a bad back since pregnancy and find it very hard to put up. To the extreme that a member of the public helped me the other day I struggled so much. It's easier to put down but you definitely need two hands.
The car seat isn't good for our car (ford escort) but that is partly the fault of the short seatbelts in our car. It's very heavy to lift in and out of the boot.
I certainly wouldn't like to take it on public transport.
My partner says the handles are a bit short for him and he isn't that tall.
The steering I also find difficult with my bad wrists, can't do it one handed, but otherwise it's smooth to push.
All in all I'm sad and disappointed as it is expensive but more style over substance!Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

"I really like my 3D. My son is very snug…"

I really like my 3D. My son is very snug in the pram. I liked the fact that it came with a lot of accessories so you didn't have to buy all the extras. It's very easy to fold and I have no problems fitting it into the boot of my Golf (would recommend asking the shop if you can try it in your boot before buying if your concerned).
The only negatives are that DH finds the handles a bit low and that it's hard to get to the shopping basket in pram mode. Also, the raincover doesn't fold well so lives in the boot of the car.Read moreLessMumsnetter baby101

I loved this pushchair when my daughter was newborn as she looked really comfy and i could see her as she was a small baby she lasted in the pram mode for a good few months but for bigger babies i cant see them getting much use out opf the pram mode. after a few months the chassis broke and it took 4 weeks 2 repair after a few weeks it broke again so silver cross sent me a brand new pushchair which i was impressed with. my daughter is now 9 months and i am looking for a new pushchair as i find using public transport alot its very bulky and with my daughter getting heavier the pushchair is taking more effort to push. for the time i have had it it has been a great pushchair and i would reccomend it.

Great in many ways: really comfy, good raincover and mobility but very tricky to get in and out of my Renault Clio's boot - so to anyone out there who doesn't have a people carrier it may not be the best option and it is quite heavy too.

Pram system is very comfy for the baby, but they outgrow it too fast. Left a time period when unable to use in pram mode as too big and several inches too small for the pushchair. Therefore had to buy another pushchair to cover this time period. Lots of fittings came with the package and all have been very useful. Very manoverable. Ideal height as the handles have two height settings - great if you are below average height. Wheel wear is disappointing considering the price.

A fabulous option. Lighter than most 'from-birth' systems and narrower, easier to get into doors, hallways, shops. Similar to M&P Pliko in design, but lighter and narrower. Folds down to the size of a set of golf clubs. SC seem to favour nice unisex upholstery.

I does seem really robust and handles uneven ground pretty well. Loved the pram function (chunky ds2 lasted in it until he was 5 months). I think it looks good and is easy to keep clean.
The cons - impossible to steer or fold with one hand. Doesn't fold as small as I hoped, very heavy to lift, shopping basket difficult to get to.
Would I choose this one again? Probably as there doesn't seem to be a pushcair out there that does everything and I've tried most of them!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

This is a lovely system, it has a pretty pram insert but this doesn't last long as it is quite small.
I also find it heavy and the pushchair is quite narrow.Read moreLessMumsnetter Lomond

I love the silver cross 3D travel system. It is great for travelling and very easy to use. It's also easy to fold down after use and fits nicely in the boot of my car which mean I can take it everywhere. The mattress also comes out and is easy to wash.

My daughter bought one from Mothercare (and they're not cheap) but within a couple of weeks of use the chassis buckled. The pram came back from being repaired and within a week it had broken again.
