"I have loved a mutsy urban rider with a safe-to-go…"
17-Jul-2011
I have loved a mutsy urban rider with a safe-to-go car seat and I loved it with single seat unit, but I have to say that using a duo seat its difficult. My DS is 17mths and my DD is 4mths and she is getting stuck when putting her in or taking out becouse there is no room to operate. Her head is touching a hood and she is very uncomfy. Its bulky when whet set up as duo. I'm looking at selling all set asap.

I love our Mutsy. LO is now 4 1/2 moonths and loves the seat unit. We did buy a carrycot but hardly used it as the lie-flat car seat was perfect when she was small (so don't waste your money buying one). It's a nightmare when shopping, though people tend to shift out of your way when they see you coming towards them. (Think 'king of the road'). The shopping basket is the pram's biggest let-down. There is one you can buy to fit which is loads bigger - but the only seller I found is in Germany!

Looks great, fab off road and easy to push however a total nightmare in shops and if you get a puncture when you're out! It doesn't fold up too well, don't even consider it if you drive anything smaller than a 4 door saloon with a large boot. Quite expensive but very good quality.

"Quality is medium to high. I felt it was style…"

Quality is medium to high. I felt it was style motivated rather than solid/effective. The carrycot attachment seemed to tilt badly when the chassis was a few years old. Also the pram was very shallow, I didn't use it more than twice as I thought baby would actually fall out going over bumps/kerbs. The seat is better though, even if it doesn't lie flat enough for small babies - I'd say 6 months - and doesn't fold when facing the parent. The lining fabrics are soft if prone to bobbling, the style did nothing for me except I loved the leather handle. This slips down every time I use it though! Basket is no use really, though it holds more than you'd think having no sides! Steeriong is fantastic, I love it - you have to steer in advance though as it's rear wheel. So wide berth round corners. Very comfy and solid I think. Basically style won over practicality, but comfort wasn't lost in the middle of all that. I would never buy a full price one. Oh and the covers stained very easily with felt pen! I would not want to try and get this in a car.

Mums loved the Mutsy - "the ultimate head turner from Holland" - for it's "top of the range" looks, comfort and manoeuvrability. "It's superb off road" and "the air tyres bounce up and down kerbs easily and without jostling the baby". It's big so "can be a bit difficult in small shops" and heavy: "I wouldn't recommend for public transport". Plus "the shopping basket isn't very deep". But "if you don't use the bus or have stairs to negotiate and have a large boot then "buy this, you won't be disappointed".

A real looker!. It was the only travel system I found which allowed me to purchase seperates. I bought the chassis and car seat along with the carrycot for longer walks. As my son grows I will go back to purchase the pushchair seat and later the funseat which is a scooter that attaches to the chassis. All other systems I was interested in would not allow me to purchase the chassis alone, I had to buy what I did not need at that time.

It looks great and is easy to steer however the seat has to be removed before folding and I would only recommend it to someone with a large carboot, if you do then it is definitely a good buy.

i love it, i have the joey and my baby was more content sleeping in that at night that in her craddle. it's really easy to push the handle bar is great as we can adjust to suit the height of anyone pushing it and i have had loads of coments on how great it looks to the only down side is the fact the carry cot part doesn't have any safety harness and there is no sun canopy made for them but the mama's n papa's sun canopy does fit.

DO NOT buy this pram, if you have a leather handle it will always come away from the chrome centre. DO NOT buy the additional small wheels as they drop off half way down the street.

DO NOT buy this pram, if you have a leather handle it will always come away from the chrome centre. DO NOT buy the additional small wheels as they drop off half way down the street. Replacement handle sent but cannot be fitted and was faulty anyway. Babystyle offering a new chassis but who wants a pram that's continually faulty and could be a danger to my baby.

It's a goodlooking pushchair that has loads of extras, like the duo seat and the toddler seat. Far superior to the Bugaboo.

I bought the "Jockey" wheels for my daughters mutsy and it revolutionised shopping. These give the Mutsy a tiny turning circle. The back wheels are still a bit wide for very narrow doors. Overall I love the flexibility of it, multiple positions for your baby as they grow, it is strong and sturdy, the shopping basket and the clip on backpack give it loads of storage. Beats the Bugaboo everytime. I am expecting my 3rd child and am going to get the double seat.I really should be selling them! I am not on commission really.

Don't buy this if you live in a hot country as the plastic wheel trims melt. The tyres puncture from the heat. My baby sweats as the material is not breathable. The basket is very small and was broken within days of arrival. The frame is held together by rivits which are very loose and does not feel safe. But is an eye catcher and lots of people stop and ask you about it, which is annoying!!!

basically - as with a man - looks arent everything LOL!
The mutsy urban rider looks amazing it can't be denied, you get many an admiring glance because it is so stylish looking - however i know now that this is NOTHING compared to practicality! It is SO difficult to manouvre! It is heavy and obstructive, you can't go in a shop with it realistically, its too huge! It fits ok in the boot of my hatchback with wheels removed and they are quick release, so its a quick and easy procedure, however, the seat positioning - well if you're child is taller than a dwarf, and has a bit of attitude as does my daughter, you will find they drag their feet on the wheels, which could result in a broken ankle, and many a scuffed shoe!
I bought this and the duo seat together as my second baby is due in 4 weeks. I have got shut sharpish as this is impractical in my eyes for just one child, so for two i can imagine the weight being unbearable unless you regularly lift weights!! And it would never ever fit in the boot of my hatchback! So i have a Phil & Teds on order and about time too!!!Read moreLess"Gorgeous pram which gets loads of admiring looks - a…"

Gorgeous pram which gets loads of admiring looks - a bit annoying if you'd prefer people to admire the baby inside. In carrycot mode it is very comfortable for baby. I would recommend getting the front swivel wheels as an extra as it makes it easier to manouvere in town - but keep the big wheels for rough ground.
The raincover for the carrycot is useless - I had to buy another universal one. The basket is shallow but big and holds everything well enough.Read moreLess"We have the 3 Rider version of this - far…"

We have the 3 Rider version of this - far norrower at the front so we have found it much easier to fit through door, steer around things etc. Only downside is the weight but it has stood up to a very lively toddler, muddy rugby pitches, snow - you name it. As it folds with the seat on there is no messing like with the Bugaboo and also the seat can go both ways so Grandma was happy when taking little Bean for walks - a downside to the Jane Powertrack. Wish Mutsy would develop the twin seat for the 3 wheller too - not jsut the 4 rider as they have just done. Fun seat is soooo cool too

This buggy is great.
It's not small but if you have a big hallway and a big car boot this is the buggy to buy.
The lie flat cot section is a dream - you can remove it easily and we have used it as a travel cot. The whole thing is very rugged and well designed.
Yes, the basket underneath isn't huge, but haven't we got hills to walk up not shops to visit?!Read moreLess"too bulky . dificult to fold and stupid stearing system.…"
