"Very Heavy…"
18-Jul-2012
This pram looks good, and it has lots of brill features, but it was just too heavy! I couldn't lift the whole thing myself, and had to take it apart. It's also heavy to push on any ground that's not perfectly smooth like a supermarket.
I do love how you can change the seat unit into the carrycot whilst the child is still in though meaning they sleep longer... :)Read moreLessMumsnetter Unknown1

We chose this because of the features mentioned by others (pram/pushchair, height adjustment and handle adjustment, travel system, forward/rear facing etc). I love it! It's very easy to push and steer, easy and quick to fold up and put into the boot and I use it all the time (including in the house) with the car seat on it. We haven't used the pram/pushchair that much and I'm hoping our daughter won't grow out of it before we get some good use out of the pushchair mode but she's a long baby and the car seat is so convenient. All in all, stylish and easy to use.

Excellent pram. I love the fact that the seat becomes a pram and all seat adjustments, handle height adjustments and storage tray under the seat. Overall good quality, just annoying some times when you want to lift it, as it is heavy... but everything else, is excellent. Well, one more thing I dislike, it can be a bit narrow and tight space for baby... hmmmm

"We bought this on account of the height adjustment facility…"
18-Jan-2010
We bought this on account of the height adjustment facility and pram to pushchair all-in-1 mode. The design is fantastic; the quality of the manufacture not as good. I had a replacement chassis after 6 months as the brake locked (common fault apparently) and this has been fine. Mamas and Papas were so embarrassed they left us for nearly 2 months with no repair (we were provided with a hire chassis in the meantime) they didn't even bother chasing the factory but gave us a brand new one in the shop. The Skate does carry loads of shopping and is superb for adjusting if your baby falls asleep or wakes up and wants to observe the world once more as there is over half a dozen seat settings forward and backward facing. This is in addition to the handle and frame height adjustments. Very easy to get out and pull up and put back into your boot (providing it is quite roomy). If not wheels come off. The only thing is my daughter is quite tall so not sure how much more wear we will get. She is one next week and her head almost touches the top of the hood! Also there is no footmuff made by Mamas and Papas (probably as the pram is relatively slim so the canopy cannot be buttoned up with one anyway) and no unmbrella or parasol designed to fit the chunky handles. All in all great design and easy to use but you have to provide your own solutions in very cold and very hot weather.

When I bought this pram 6 months ago and read this review page I thought I had made a massive mistake.
But it could not be any further from the truth, this pram has been great. We had taken it out pretty much everyday for the last 5 and a half months and it is still going strong. We have been off road, on grass through the park and a number of torrential down pours and it has been perfect.Read moreLessMumsnetter Angela77

Love it - stylish, easy to use and no extra bits to store as both pushchair and traditional pram mode in one. Originally wanted to buy Bugagoo Chameleon but had doubts about the hight of the carry cot as both me and DH are tall and the access to and size of the storage bag. Came across M&P Skate - and we found that it has all the features as Bugaboo has but the cot is higher with considerably bigger carry space under the cot and is slightly cheaper. Very glad we decided to get Skate - works for us perfectly.

"Hi, I have the Mamas & Papas Skate - The…"
04-May-2009
Hi,
I have the Mamas & Papas Skate - The build quality is poor, the cradle is not very stable at worst of all when going down a pavement the whole thing almost tips over if your not careful.
When I attempted to return the pram they adjusted it and asked I take it home and try it again. Still not happy I attempted to return if it only to be told it has to go back to the factory for tests. The tests will be of no value as the pram will still be unstable. They have basically refused a refund and not been very helpful.
My advice would be to avoid this pram and go for something a little more sturdy.
Good luck.

brilliant !! as a mum and also a childminder i have had over 20 prams in 7 years and this is the best one so far ! love the way it folds up without being stripped into hundreds of bits is brilliant to push the only slight downside is that it is heavy but i manage and i am not that strong lol the carrycot is the seat unit so no storing loads of extra bits made great sence for me !! really recomend !
