I was invited to review the Kiddy Click n Move 3 Travel System and Kiddy Evolution Pro Group 0+ infant carrier, which I tried out with my newborn daughter when she was born in October.
The travel system looks great, with a black frame and contemporary design. It's very easy to covert from carrycot, to pushchair, to car seat.
There are two unique features that set this travel system apart. The first is that unlike most others, the pushchair basket has a cover and zip, which means that your shopping and belongings are more secure than with the usual open baskets. The second is that the rain cover for the pushchair is tucked away in the bumper bar, which is great, as it doesn't take up valuable space in your basket. The rain cover, combined with a really big pushchair hood, keeps your baby or toddler dry. Two great innovations from Kiddy that are really practical for parents.
The carrycot is lovely and snug for a newborn, and we used it for daytime naps in the house as well as on the move. It's a shame it doesn't come with a raincover but I purchased a universal one that did the trick.
There's a knack to dismantling and putting up the frame, which - once I got my head round it - was extremely easy to do. The frame is fairly bulky but I managed to fit it into the small boot of my Renault Clio. You can remove the wheels easily if necessary. The handlebar of the pushchair is positioned high, which was great for my husband and I who are tall, and useful for our Lascal buggyboard which we use with our toddler. The pushchair adjusts from parent facing to forward facing as your baby grows.
The Evolution Pro car seat is easy to strap into the car with a seatbelt, and to attach to the pushchair chassis with handy adapters. It also cleverly comes with the option to adjust the car seat for the baby to lie flat if they are asleep on arrival, which is better for a newborn's growing spine. There's a great rocking function which we found ourselves using a lot. It felt heavier than some infant car seats, which I took to mean that it would be pretty secure in an accident!
Overall, I would recommend this travel system to other parents. It looks good, is easy to use, has some genuinely unique innovations and my daughter is safe and comfortable.
