"Perfect for me and my family"
20-Apr-2012
I fell in love with the Cherry when I saw pictures of the Union Jack special edition and I'm still 100% happy with my choice 11 months on.
It has a lovely large shopping basket underneath, is easy to steer one handed and very lightweight. Although you need to separate the frame from the seat to fold it, the frame fits easily in the boot of a mini, and the Maxi Cosi adaptors mean I don't always have to carry the seat unit with me.
Best of all, the frame is really narrow, making it easy to nip in and out of shops (and pubs). It's also easy to wheel straight onto a bus.
The parasol is pants though...Read moreLessMumsnetter nancerama

"Great lightweight pram.... I needed a pram for my youngest"
20-Feb-2012
Great lightweight pram....
I needed a pram for my youngest daughter - her big sister wanted to walk every where and whenever she was put in a pram she would not be a happy little girl :) So we started to look into prams that our youngest could use - we didnt need any pram that had 10 million gadgets or combinations, we needed a lightweight pram that looked fantastic and one my youngest would be comfy in. So we went to our local pram store and straight away they showed us the icandy cherry and i feel in love then and there! Beautiful colours, lovely to touch fabrics, lightweight and simple easy fold. I couldnt ask for more. I was worried what the price would be and I was nicely surprised that it was not as expensive as, as it looked. my little girl got in and wouldnt get out so I knew that was the one - we have had it now for over a year now and would be completley lost without it. certianly a pram I would recommendRead moreLessMumsnetter VicckiT

"The main reason I chose the Cherry was due to"
01-Feb-2012
The main reason I chose the Cherry was due to it being so lightweight - it' makes it practical to use out and about, to push uphill and assists with the maneuverability. I must have tried and tested about 100 prams! This was by far the lightest and easiest.
Not only that but being iCandy it carries the air of luxury - being a wonderfully British high-quality brand, it looks wonderful. It's easy to fold, its very straightforward when it comes to changing from carrycot to seat unit, to car seat. It's versatile and in whatever mode, throughout the growth of both of my boys (at different times) I've loved walking my baby in it. It is definitely one of the best strollers! Furthermore, iCandy's customer service are very friendly, professional and pleasant to deal with - we needed a wheel replacement before the birth of our second, and through our stockist, iCandy dealt us a replacement without hassle very quickly.Read moreLessMumsnetter AlizeeS

"I absolutely love my iCandy cherry pram! It is so"
10-Dec-2011
I absolutely love my iCandy cherry pram! It is so lightweight, petite, easy to move around, easy to collapse and easy to make up!
Iv been using my pram for 3 months and found a squeak developed in the frame. My retailer arranged to send it back to iCandy who promised me it back within 1 week. Unfortunately 3 weeks later I still have no pram wheels (due to their computer system being down apparently) and 2 weeks to go until Christmas! I have also been told that the reason For the squeak is because iv overloaded the pram - this is far from the truth!!!
The pram itself is very good however iCandys after care is terrible. How they can leave a mother with no means to move around her 3 month old baby is shocking. The pram was not cheap and I feel terribly let down by iCandy!Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

Pros:
Light, nippy, easy to fold, compact, DS looked cosy in it.
Cons: Logo wore off after three months, wheels wobble, rubbish on any surface other than highly polished marble, frame looks cheap. I upgraded to Phil and Teds. Never looked back.Read moreLessMumsnetter redcamels

"First of all, it's the lightest stroller in the iCandy"
12-Oct-2011
First of all, it's the lightest stroller in the iCandy range - and to fold it you need to separate the seat from the chassis making it that make much lighter to carry.
The seat is a decent size - I like the belly pad buckle is attached to the seat so that it doesn't keep falling off each time I put the bubba in and out of the seat. I like the reversible seat, the removable bumper bar (which I find only has use for handing toys) and most of all the large basket - for a lightweight stroller it's a perfect size!
I also found it a perfect stroller with the maxi-cosi car seat, the adapters click into place and presto a travel system!
It might not tackle all terrains so smoothly but generally I've been able to manoeuvre it one-handedly at times even when fully loaded.
My only issues are the result of wear and tear - it's been well loved and well used so I would definitely give this top marks and recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, luxury stroller :)Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"Lots of plus points: - Lightweight/Compact - Big basket -"
11-Oct-2011
Lots of plus points:
- Lightweight/Compact
- Big basket
- Comfortable
- Relatively easy to dismantle and chuck in boot of car
Minus points:
- Seat position doesn't go into enough of an upright angle- daughter is 14 months now but from age of around 11 months started pulling herself more upright in the buggy to get a better view of things. Very frustrating as thought we'd use it till around age 3..Have started using our 'holiday' stroller now which is not as comfortable but at least she can see out as seat goes to more upright angle
Didnt think of this aspect when preggers as all you can think of is your newborn in it, however, am quite annoyed as am no longer using for this reason and it's not the cheapest buggy on the market...
- Am fairly tall 5' 7" and wish the handle was ever so slightly higher..not extendable either..
- The Cherry no longer has viewing panels in the hood (again, a bit annoying as they hadnt updated their catalogues to reflect this at the time i bought, but does say on the website now)Read moreLessMumsnetter Alibali77

"Fantastic pushchair, easy to use, easy to put up and down."
11-Oct-2011
Fantastic pushchair, easy to use, easy to put up and down. Rearfaces very easily. We had the footmuff and it was fab, fitted really well didnt slip and was easy to wash. Very warm and snug.
The pushchair seat is a very good size and my then 2yr old fitted in it with lots of room.
We also had the parasol and cupholder - I wouldn't bother with them. The parasol didnt shade very well and was hard to position. The cupholder is a waste of time. The clips have to b removed before folding which is a pain.
All in all and excellent pushchair.Read moreLessMumsnetter snala

"We wanted a *luxury* stroller that didn't come with a"
29-Sep-2011
We wanted a *luxury* stroller that didn't come with a top-end price and so eventually settled on the Cherry. And have to say, other than the odd wear and tear we've been more than happy with ours.
The Mrs gets a lot of pleasure from using it around town and the kudos of an icandy from other mums - plus in practical use, it is lightweight (as most will probably say) but for what we need - a city stroller, this is ideal!
We've read of issues with the back wheels wearing quickly, but having spoken to the sales assistant at John Lewis I was informed that problems sometimes occur after "improper use" - so be careful to not put excessive weight (shopping bags) or else the bearings could split or come to wobble.
However, other than having to spray some mr sheen to keep the folding mechanism working smoothly, we've avoided any problems.
All in all, from a father's point of view, this doesn't score top marks for its durability but for practicality and value for money. Would definitely recommend!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

Really great and very lightweight, I could life it out of the boot with one hand.
From birth you can use the chassis with the carrycot and also the Maxi Cosy Cabrio car seat.
The stroller unit is very comfy and now comes in a great range of colours.

"Super pleased with my Cherry. My top priority was light-weight,"
19-May-2011
Super pleased with my Cherry. My top priority was light-weight, which the Cherry really ticks the box for. I also live out in the country and although it isn't the "jogger" style, it comes very well with the muddy and bumpy country lanes with good suspension. It's super easy to steer (even one-handed and fully laden), fits through narrow shopping aisles and has load of easy-to-access basket space. I have another baby on the way and have just found out the Lascal BuggyBoard fits well on the back of the Cherry too which is a huge bonus if you don't want a double buggy. Baby finds it very comfortable.

"I have been using the icandycherry for 14 months now"
07-Mar-2011
I have been using the icandycherry for 14 months now and am overall really plead with it.
DD seemed to find the pram comfortable and slept well in it. She did outgrow it before six months but as she was sitting up from 18 weeks wanted to be able to see more than the inside of the hood from about then. She was a little small for the seat unit but the thickness of the cosytoes (with the front zipped off as it was warm) meant that with that on the straps werent too loose.
It steers really well, even one handed and the basket takes a decent amount of shopping.
DD seems really comfortable in the seat and the cosytoes is well worth the money as it works so much better and is warmer than the John Lewis universal cosytoes I got for our other pushchair.
Which leads me on to the downsides. It does fold up neatly, and is easier to fold than my friend's cameleon. However it is a pain that you have to take the seat off to fold it so we have got a second hand umberella fold for keeping in the car for short trips/ nursery run where this is more important.
However this is a minor point and I still think the cherry is the best option (unless you're planning on having two close together or doing serious offroading) given friends' experiences of other travel systems.Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

"The Icandy Cherry is such a good pram!! It does"
16-Feb-2011
The Icandy Cherry is such a good pram!! It does everything we wanted in a pram, the carrycot is beautiful and roomy for baby and is so comfy throughout our walks.Look forward to when baby can sit to put him in seat bit! the 'manoeuvrability' in the stroller is fantastic so easy to push and so smooth! It feels like a good sturdy pram with a great brake bar. The colour is lovely and the wonderful comments from people just keep coming. Love the Icandy Cherry, would certainly recommended it!

"A good example of style of substance. Massively disappointing. The"
08-Feb-2011
A good example of style of substance.
Massively disappointing. The carrycot is far too small and babies can't sleep for any length of time in it (as in an overnight carrycot). Ours was delivered without the adaptors needed to fit the carrycot to the chassis(?), we had to wait for ICandy to deliver them to the shop we bought the pram from, and then for the shop to forward them to us. ICandy would not send the pieces directly to us which was massively iritating when we just wanted to get my DS out in his pram for a bit of fresh air.
It's far better with the pushchair seat attached, as it can be fitted so baby is facing you this is a good thing. However it is totally overpriced as there are so few features to the pram.
Raincovers are rather cheap and are all one piece, with no zip in the middle to be able to open up when you get into a shop out of the rain or when you want to reach into baby.
As others have mentionned, the footmuff is V good - but you pay a price for this. We had a Silver Cross Linear, or maybe Freeway (?)which was a zillion times better. The pram body could be used as an overnight carry cot, you ould also position it so the baby wasn't totally flat on their back as they got a little older - a great thing as many people have commented on babies limited patience for being encased in the teeny carry cot body of the Icherry.
The Silvercross also had free 'climate packs', brilliant rain proof covers, a free changing bag and a stand for the body of the pram to turn it into a carry cot. All in all a far better quality product and a company who actually understands the concept of customer service.
We left a message for ICandy concerning the problems with the adaptors on their website - they never got back to us.
I would never recommend the ICandy Cherry and would advise you to pay a little more for the Silvercross which will last longer, is more fit for purpose and baby is more comfortable in it.Read moreLessMumsnetter genie1000

"We bought this for our second child. I use it"
11-Aug-2010
We bought this for our second child. I use it 4/5 times a week. Have pushed it through all weather conditions. Up and down the huge hill we live on. It handles cobbles and curbs well. It has been really sturdy and well made.
I would recommend the footmuff which is very cozy and excellent in the snow we had last winter. The parasol however, is useless awkward to use and a waste of money (you buy those seperately). The basket underneath fits a good amount of shopping and the frame does take the weight of a few bags too (although no buggy manufacturer recommends that you do that, most people do!).
To fold away the sitting part detatches from the wheel frame and they both squash flat. This has been fine for us, but maybe not convenient for others. The best feature for us was that you can switch from forward to parent facing.
There a many really expensive top of the range buggies which don't do much more (if anything)than this one. I would reccomend this brand and this particular buggy to anybody.

"This is a really stylish and strudy travel system which"
05-Aug-2010
This is a really stylish and strudy travel system which I bought after being recommended by a friend. It's light enough without feeling flimsy and folds down/ is put up easily. The colours are really great and we went for the mullbury (purple) which is lovely.
The only bad points are that I find it difficult to detatch the Maxicosi car seat out of it and often need to shake it quite hard to remove it from the frame. Also if you have a small car then the folded frame might not fit into your boot.
I find it really easy to manoeur around as it has a nice tight turning circle. All in all I'm really glad I got this travel system.Read moreLessMumsnetter purlprincess

"We have had our Cherry 6 months since the birth"
10-May-2010
We have had our Cherry 6 months since the birth of our baby. We have the lovely 'fudge' colour, with the pushchair, the carrycot and the footmuff. We are really happy with it.
Pros:
1) Looks stylish and cool (remember, this is an accessory just like your handbag!)
2) Smallish, fits in our quite small lift and good for getting on and off buses
3) Very flexible with lie-flat pram, rear-facing pushchair, forward-facing pushchair, and car seat adaptors. When you have a tiny baby it is a great comfort to be able to tuck them into a cozy little carrycot and see them slumbering in front of you as you walk. Equally when baby gets bigger it is very nice to have him facing you to be able to chat and reassure. To me this was a big deal.
4) Simple to use: very easy to fold, unfold, recline, switch around attachments with 'clunk click' simple functionality. Unlike, for example, the Bugaboo Chameleon which seems to need you to learn some sort of martial art manouvre to unfurl it.
5) Nice big shopping basket. Unlike, for example the Quinny travel system
6) Quite light. Unlike, for example, the Quinny or some of the Mamas and Papas behemoths
7) Decent sized wheels. To me, an urban user that likes to go for walks in teh park but not really a hiker, they are a good compromise between the huge off-road wheels on models like the Chameleon, iCandy Apple/Peach etc and the teeny-tiny ones on the Bugaboo Bee which look a bit rickety.
8) Decent sized carrycot and pushchair. Some people have mentioned the carrycot is quite small but we found (with an average sized DS) that by the time he was 4 months old he didn't really want to be in the carrycot unless it was nighttime and he would be asleep the whole time. He preferred to be reclined in the pushchair so he could see a bit more and interact with mum. So we never had a problem with him outgrowing the carrycot. On the other hand some of the smaller carrycots on the market, eg the Phil and Ted's cocoon, might have been too small for us. The pushchair is a decent size as well, I see some of my friends' babies squeezed into Bugaboo Bees and it doesn't look like there's much room for growth there.
9) Lovely cozy footmuff, fleece lined, easy to use and stylish to look at.
10) Bar-style footbreak is easy to use.
Cons
1) The big con with this travel system is that it folds in two pieces, so isn't suitable for very quick assembly/dissembly. We took it all the way to Australia in carrycot mode but it was a bit of a pain getting it through the airport. It would never be possible to fold it and carry it in one hand while carrying baby in the other.
2) Carrycot handle doesn't seem to stand totally upright (this is a very very minor complaint)
3) Would prefer a few more recline options on the pushchair including a better lie-flat position. Although this is also minor as my baby will sleep very happily in it
4) The parasol is rubbish! Don't bother
5) Very few optional extras available, and doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of other models e.g. adjustable suspension etc
6) Shopping basket can be a bit difficult to access sometimes
7) Quite expensive (but not outrageously so)
8) Few colour options and few ways to customise itRead moreLess8 people found this review helpful.

"I decided to buy an icandy cherry for my baby"
26-Apr-2010
I decided to buy an icandy cherry for my baby Joey after seeing my sister-in-law with one. i loved the vibrant colours they came in and the fact that they are quite small compared with other prams. This makes fitting into small spaces or taking him into busy areas much easier.
Tip for other mothers!!
I did find, like many other mums I'm sure, that if we were on a long day out together, or if we are in a busy area, he will start crying and screaming whilst in his pram and sometimes refuses to stop. For situations like this a babysling comes in handy, you can just pick then up and put them in the sling, and whilst they are being carried in that for a few minutes they calm down very quickly!!Read moreLessMumsnetter JoeysMummy2010

"Have had this for six months, since the birth of"
19-Apr-2010
Have had this for six months, since the birth of our first child, and so far it's been great; small and manouvrable enough for him to sleep in the pram at the dining table/on buses/wherever when tiny. It's great for city-dwellers who want an old fashioned pram set up to begin with, cheaper and lighter than Bugaboos, and better for taller people (we thought the baby was very low down in the bugaboo bee and the bugaboo chameleon, practically at your knees - and I am only 5 foot 6.) It is a bit narrow, so a bigger baby will grown out of the carry cot by 5 or 6 months, but I think that's the price you pay for its nippiness.
Two tips; I found the carry cot a bit stiff to put on, but just read that they advise you to wipe the clip bits with a bit of silicon based furniture polish to smooth things along - wish I had known that as the seat bit now clips in very nicely. Fits easily in the boot of a Golf.
I'm marking it down slightly on durability, not because we've had problems, but just because I've come across someone who has.Read moreLessMumsnetter Matsikula

"I have had my icandy cherry 7 mths since the"
31-Mar-2010
I have had my icandy cherry 7 mths since the birth of my baby. It has proved a really good investment. For newborns I noticed the 5 position buggies on the market generally didn't have a completely smooth base for the newborn baby to lie on, usually having various lumps sticking up from the mechanism and this bothered me so I was looking for something that had a pram attachment. The cherry's detachable pram allows the baby to be completely flat on a smooth mattress base. I live on the raised groundfloor and (contrary to another reviewer) I have found the pram attachment is very easy to take off and carry indoors - a key feature for me. We've now moved on to the buggy seat attachment and it is nice and roomy, and changes position at click of a button when babe falls asleep. The frame is one of the lightest on the market and has a very neat turning circle making it very easy to get on and off buses here in London. You can add snap-in adaptors to make it a travel system, which meant from when babe was newborn I was able to take her out in bus/car with carseat rather than pram so that she was secure. This proved brilliant on early holiday when she was 3 months. All in all I think this has really excellent functionality and my baby seems to have been very content in it.

"I have now have my icandy Cherry for 2 years"
05-Mar-2010
I have now have my icandy Cherry for 2 years and still love it. DD rarely uses the pushchair now but I did use it a couple of weeks ago when she fell asleep in the car on the way to a friend's house - Just lifted her in and she went back to sleep. She's tall for her age and did look on the big side for it, but then she is 2 so that's fair enough.
I have loved it - we had the carry cot and used it on a rocking stand by the bed as a moses basket, as well as a pram. The push chair is easy to use and push and it fits in the boot of a Clio and a fiesta. Love it - so much better than others I have seen. I just wish they had done the purple one when I was purchasing it.Read moreLessMumsnetter Tori27

"We have been using our Cherry for 2 months now,"
01-Mar-2010
We have been using our Cherry for 2 months now, and I have to say it is fantastic so far! We have the pushchair and carrycot in mulberry for our daughter. The mulberry purple colour is beautiful and the fabric seems excellent quality and hardwearing. I think the colour is dark enough to be unisex.
The carrycot is really cosy and comfortable looking, our daughter naps really well in it. It's very easy to clip on to the chassis and also to remove - simply push the grey buttons down on either side and lift off! I don't think it will last our daughter for 6 months as she's quite a big girl, but I think we'll get a good 4 months from it at a push, and by then she'll be wanting to be in the pushchair seat anyway - she's already very nosy and doesn't like laying flat when awake.
The pushchair seat is again very simple to attach and remove, and also to recline. We have sat our 2.5 year old son in it to try it out, and he seems very comfortable and it's still easy to push (even one-handed) despite him being big for his age.
The chassis is very lightweight and so easy and smooth to fold/unfold. It's an absolute dream to push, and the shopping basket is a really decent size (can fit 2-3 shopping bags in). The raincovers for the carrycot and pushchair both fit really well and aren't a faff to put on like on some other prams.
The only downside is that the system can't be folded with the seat unit on - however to allow that they'd have to totally change the design, which is otherwise perfect. I wouldn't change mine for the world, and after 3 children think I have finally found the perfect system.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"The cherry arrived from John Lewis today, it's the berry"
21-Jan-2010
The cherry arrived from John Lewis today, it's the berry blue. We bought the stroller, carry cot, bag, cosy toes and the umbrella for when(ever) it gets warm, we were told not to wait until the summer as some colours go out of stock. So we are ready to go. Rene from John Lewis Glasgow showed us the system last week and not for the first time, we'd been back a few times but she had been so patient I would have felt guilty buying elsewhere (not so the hubby counting his hard earned) Switching from the seat unit to the cot is easy although we won't have to do that oftern. The cot simply clips off to fold the stroller. It's the lighest and simplist fold we've seen. We'll be on the bus a lot so this was important to us, so with cot off the frame weights almost nothing. The cot looks so roomy and cosy we know Kim is just fine, the cot hood comes about one third of the way down the cots length so she is well protected from the wind. We're delighted, it's a smashing product, the first trip out has been a real sucess (if a little nervy) but I feel very comfortable with my cherry.

I just got a frantic call from my wife. She spent 30 minutes trying to detach the pram unit from the main body. By the time she figured it out her hands were bleeding, she was crying, and baby was crying. This was after we had practiced detaching the unit multiple times prior to her leaving the house. Very, very unimpressed with this product. For something that costs over £600, one would expect it to be designed for a Mum to easily operate. Very, very, very disappointed

I am trialing the new iCandy Cherry in Mulberry for a parents magazine. I have to say out of the six travel systems I am testing the iCandy Cherry gets 10 out of 10. I read a some not so positive reviews about the iCandy Cherry in the past but I think iCandy have listened to thier Mums and re-made a fantastic travel system. It is really, really light and the general price is also not bad in my opinion. Great steering, simple fold, decent carry cot, good choice of fabrics, easy to streer... I could go on but I have to save something back for the magazine. Sorry!

"I love my icandy Cherry. I have been waiting until"
01-Jul-2009
I love my icandy Cherry. I have been waiting until I have had a good use of the buggy part before reviewing. I am impressed that icandy seem to listen, and respond, to customer feedback, the new colours look lovely. We have the beige (fudge) colour as we didn't know the gender of our baby (boy) when we bought it. We have never had a problem with the wheels.
As with any expensive purchase you have to do your homework to make sure that you buy what suits you, I am really happy with it. There should be more light weight systems like this, we don't all have cars, and we are not all strapping six-foot model mums.
I am quite petite (though my son is a bruiser)so I can easily maneouvre it about and lift it, fold it up etc with no difficulty. My son has weighed more that the buggy for a long time! When we approach steps my husband justs lifts the whole pram up the steps, so he doesnn't need to bump it. I do lots of walking into town, park etc, hop on and off buses and trains and have no problems. We have taken it on holiday and it even goes through the x-ray machine at the airport on the belt with no problems, thought even with two of us, one of the security staff had to hold our son while we gathered all our things and put it back together.
I get envious looks as I know people are thinking it looks comfortable to push and my son is hapy in it, and I am starting to see more of them about now.
We used the carry cot a fair bit, my son lay in it when he was very young and we wanted to eat dinner etc, and we knew we would travel to see in-laws, so it got its use when he slept in it at their house. He did grow out of it quite quickly, but then was a tiny bit too small for the straps of the buggy section, so we alternated for a bit, til he was comfortable in the buggy. One thing we forgot about the carry cot was that once he could sit up, under the mattress was a support to lift the mattress up on an incline, we only remembered this when we saw another baby looking lovely and comfortable sitting up in her carry cot/pram.
The fact that the chassis can take the car seat too, is really convenient, we used this at first when we were just making little trips out.
My friend with a Quinny (who hates it because the seat is so small) envys my buggy. I am glad I didn't go to the extra expense (and weight). Her ddaughters' feet hang over the edge of the seat at 8 months.
My son likes to sit in the buggy, facing me, with his feet up on the bar. I like the fact that you can turn the buggy to face the person pushing, or out to the world, though he always faces me, I can't imagine not chatting to him as I push.
The only comments I would make are: that although the bag you can buy with it holds lots of stuff and has a really useful insulated part for bottles, it is really difficult to get it out of the basket underneath when it is full. They should make the opening of the basket more flexible. That is why I give it a 9 for funtionality.
And also, the carry cot/pram part should have a plastic rain hood attachment (I don't know if it does now).
All in all, I would definitely buy this again, and I think I will be able to use it for my next child and it is still like new, so it is geat value. (My son is 9 months).Read moreLess8 people found this review helpful.

"Hi my name is MrsM, I am currently trialling the"
28-May-2009
Hi my name is MrsM, I am currently trialling the icandy peach double pushchair. Unlike most sane 36year olds I have three children one aged 11, one aged 12month's and the third 12week's. The icandy travel system has been really easy to use, before Alex my 12 week old was born we used the pushchair for Holly which was very practical light weight and gave her lots of room in the sitting position. The hood is also very practical as it comes right over to shade Holly
from the elements.
To collapse the frame you only need to us one hand as it has an easy strap system which you pull up and that folds the main frame flat, allowing enough room in the boot of the car to store the remaining seat and pram. Once using the double system you will need to put the baby into the pram first as the seat for the older child needs to be placed into position afterwards. Unlike the other main competitors this pram does come with a shopping basket.
Overall we find the icandy Peach to be lightweight, easy to assemble but most importantly the pram looks stylish and modern and this has been proved by the amount of Mums that have stopped me in the street to enquire all about it.
If you have any questions please email me on www.jammantle@ntlworld.comRead moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"I love this pushchair. It is so light that you"
27-Apr-2009
I love this pushchair. It is so light that you can carry the chassis in one hand and your baby in the car seat in the other. It is so easy to put up and down and is so smooth to push. After looking at many systems before our baby arrived I am so glad we went for this one.

"I bought this pushchair having gone to a shop to"
21-Apr-2009
I bought this pushchair having gone to a shop to buy a Jane, however, i was persuaded to buy this instead. To be honest, it has been fine, but I wouldnt buy it again. I have had no problems with chassi/wheels etc, however, i just feel that it is a bit flimsy and cheap and just not worth the money. The carry cot is TINY and everything about it feels cheap. My baby used the carry cot during the summer so the lack of padding did not matter, however, it would have should he have been born in the winter. My advice is to spend the extra and go for a bugaboo/ bebe confort loola/ quinny or the new mothercare travel system...all much nicer to look at and more substantial!!!

"We bought the pushchair because it promised to be light"
24-Mar-2009
We bought the pushchair because it promised to be light weight. To our disappointment, the chassis weighed 5kg and not the push chair. The carry cot has to be bought separately and is quite heavy. My daughter never slept in the expensive carry cot. The entire travel system is soo bulky and hardly of any use. It cant be folded easily ( not even with two hands) nor does it have a good shopping basket. All in all I can say it was a complete waste of money. We are contemplating buying a maclaren shortly

"I had an icandy cherry until our little one was"
24-Feb-2009
I had an icandy cherry until our little one was about 10 months old. I did love the pushchair as it is so light and easy to use. But, oh my, the wheels.....we changed the chassis 4 times! After that we bought a MacLaren buggy. Either the wheels kept falling off or got stuck, and the last chassis we had wouldn't really open.
To be fair on icandy, I think they recognized the wheel problem and are now offering better wheel solutions - if I had to choose again I'd buy it again but I would make absolutely sure the wheels are ok and that I could change it back if there was a problem.
The only other think I found was that i had to change to the seat unit after about 4 months (recommended is after 6 months) as our baby was quite a whopper and the carrycot unit is quite small/narrow. But that's why it probably is so light & easy to use.Read moreLessMumsnetter JuRoAnna

"I loved the idea of the Cherry, but the reality"
21-Feb-2009
I loved the idea of the Cherry, but the reality put us off.
Pros: Great manouevrability, turns on a sixpence, faces either way, easy to dismantle, big basket, adjustable handle height
Cons: Wheels break very easily (ours split apart twice and we ended up sending it back, despite only light use because we generally used slings...) and I would not buy this pram again because it simply isn't robust enough for everyday life.Read moreLessMumsnetter Kyte

"We've had ours for nearly 18 months, had the textbook"
15-Oct-2008
We've had ours for nearly 18 months, had the textbook wheel and seat recline problems but had the frame and then seat swapped over, at which point they gave us a new basket and front wheels for free, which was lovely. Since the swaps we've had no problems at all and are very happy with it. I do find having to lift up the front wheels to go down off the kerb in rear facing mode difficult now our son's bigger though.

I was a little bit wary about the iCandy Cherry but I must say I had no need to be concerned. It moves perfectly and the carry cot comes off easily. I recently purchased the iCandy Cherry and I must say its great value for money. Quick release wheels, very light, nice size carry cot, reversible seat unit and nice size shopping basket. That was my list completley checked. If lifting something as heavy as a Quinny Buzz is an issue for you then the iCandy Cherry is the answer as it is cewrtainly in the feather weight catagory

05-Jul-2008
Unfortunately we have not been lucky with our icandy Cherry.
The first major problem we had was that the seat jolted our baby into the lie flat position. The seat buttons were not working correctly. After contacting the manufacturer direct we were told (rather impolitely) to go back to the stockist. The seat frame was replaced.
The second problem is that the wheel is wobbling on the front and I can see that its only going to be a matter of days before it comes off.
I do not think that the product is fit for the purpose it is designed for ie safe carriage of babies/toddlers/children. This may be due to the fact mine was purchased in May 2007 and the case maybe that the new design has be overhauled.
Also the seat does not sit the baby upright enough its more of a recline so not ideal once the baby starts to want to have a look around.Read moreLessMumsnetter TomsMumLou

"I've had this for 5 months. Overall it has been"
29-May-2008
I've had this for 5 months. Overall it has been great.
The chassis is one of the lightest and folds very neatly away. A very important attribute in any pushchair/travel system in my opinion! You can collapse it with one hand (unlike the bugaboo). You can use the pushchair attachment from birth but we bought the carrycot. As it turned out, our baby moved out of this at 3 months as he wanted to look at things. I think it is probably nice for a baby to be in a carrycot as it's all secure but I guess if I could do it all again, I'd probably just get a stroller that you could use from birth and then put them in the sling but that's because we seem to be accumulating so much stuff!
Now that I'm out and about more and using public transport, I'm probably going to buy a second lighter stroller that is easier on tubes and buses.
The basket is a very nice size & fits lots of shopping but it's hard to access the basket with the pushchair bit on.
The parasol broke after the second outing which quite annoyed me esp. as the company didn't seem in a hurry to help us out. I have heard that parasols in general break a lot but i wasn't impressed.
It steers very nicely although is not really suitable for walks on rough surfaces. Apart from the parasol, we haven't had any problems with bits breaking as other reviewers describe but I understand that was older models.
It's also compatible with the maxi cosi car seat which is useful. Pushchair reclines to several levels and almost flat.Read moreLessMumsnetter MissPriestley

"I have one of the new iCandy Cherries and so"
19-Apr-2008
I have one of the new iCandy Cherries and so far so good it's running perfectly. After reading a lot of the Mums reviews on various web sites I decided to try three different retailers to see what all the fuss was about.
They all had the iCandy Cherry in stock and admitted that the old models had problems with the wheels locking and that the seat unit can be miss used and therefore broken but all insisted that the new models are great and so far they had no returns. They are still getting some of the old models back and when those parents swap it for the new models they don't come back again. I thought it was important to write what their thoughts are as they are the people who see problems every day
As I say, I have my iCandy Cherry 6 months and have just moved from the carry cot to the stroller and I have zero problems. The reason why I picked this travel system is because I was looking for a system that was super light and would take the Maxi Cosi car seat and allow the seat unit to face both ways. I also could not justify spending the amount of money Bugaboo was looking for and why did I have to when the Cherry does what Bugaboo does but at a fraction of the price.
The only box it does not tick is that it does not have air tyres and therefore not as off road as I would have liked.
Reviews are great but only when you put this information in to a practical use and visit your local retailer.
Good luck

"We think the icandy Cherry is superb - we were"
11-Apr-2008
We think the icandy Cherry is superb - we were after a light weight pram / buggy suitable from birth that would fold up easily to fit in the boot of our car. I drive to places with my daughter quite alot and am constantly getting the buggy in and out of the car and have found it so easy. It is compact and easy to manouvre around shops etc. I have never had any problems with wheels / buttons as mentioned in some reviews and I have always thought the basket to be quite big! The only critism I have is that I find the Maxi Cosi car seat, which can be bought with the icandy Cherry to make a travel system, quite difficult to get on and off the wheels. However this is not a major problem for me as I don't tend to want to use it in this way very often.

"I have the Cherry stroller and other than one slight"
20-Mar-2008
I have the Cherry stroller and other than one slight hiccup with the wheels I have no problems. I was with my sister at the recent baby show at the Excel and the iCandy man was there. We asked him about the problems with the wheels and he explained that the new wheels are rivited and double bolted and they have zero problems. The seat unit now has metal teeth on the inside so it does not fall back but he said it was mainly parents who do not use the recline buttons properley that was the main problem.
My sister purchased the red one at the show as the retailer was offering a free car seat with it.
I love mine as its soooooooooooo light and easy to fold and my son is nearly 2 and big for his age..... I hope this helps some people.

27-Jan-2008
I also bought this pushchair as soon as it was released as I was excited it did all the things I wanted it to do. It was light, easy to steer, front and rear facing, large shopping basket, folded fairly small.
At first I loved it, it was very light and easy to steer. However when the seat is in the rear facing position the shopping basket is difficult to access and pushing a nappy bag in and out of it over the fabric soon caused it to wear out.
The first thing that went wrong was the recline buttons, in the mid position if I went over a bump it plonked my poor baby down in the lying flat position! It went back and I got a replacement fairly swiftly. Secondly the front wheels buckled frequently when trying to get out of the road onto the pavement, very scary. I got a new frame of the bolted on front wheel variety. Thirdly the front wheel went stiff and weird and was dragging on one side and crippling my back to push, I got ANOTHER frame.
All in all it is a great idea that needs refining, but I am tired of finding out all its problems.Read moreLess"I bought this pushchair as soon as it was released,"

I bought this pushchair as soon as it was released, and have had no end of troubles, 3 months later it is falling apart, the front wheels get stuck sideways, which has happened in dangerous circumstances, this has been fixed once needs repairing again, the seat unit reclining mechanism has broken. It is not sturdy enough for the weight and strength of a one year old.
The seat positions are limited. The basket spacious when the seat is forward facing but difficult to access when the seat is rear facing.Read moreLess
