"8 years old still brilliant…"
07-Feb-2013
Completely LOVE my fast fold system, brought if for my first baby and it's a brilliant work horse of a buggy, I've been childminding for 4 years and use it almost daily the one handed push is fantastic and it's light and easy to steer. Not something you would want to overload as it will tip up but that's never been an issue, I've used this on the beach, muddy walks, in the snow and around town with ease. It's a much lovely reliable old buggy and still going strong after two kids of my own and umpteen childminder children. Happy days!

"BRILLIANT!…"
22-Jun-2012
This is PERFECT for holidays and as an everyday stroller. Too lightweight for very heavy duty walking and shopping but overall does everything you would hope for something so light weight. Opens and closes with one hand and the seat is very comfortable for baby, you do need to tuck wheels in though for it to 'lock'. It looks quite modern too. Well made and so easy to use. Only limiting factors are the basket is quite small. Definitely recommend.

"the best pushchair ever!…"
07-Jun-2012
Love it love it love it! i bought mine second hand from ebay and it is the only pushchair that i have found perfect for everything. i live in the country but do go to the city allot.
The large wheels make it perfect for rough terrain, the front wheels are perfect and the steering is the easiest steering i've ever used. its the only pushchair i have been able to steer with one hand in the country!
I did go running allot with the pushchair and my daughter always found it comfortable.
But because mine was second hand it broke after a year of me using it.Read moreLessMumsnetter emcooper032

"Hi We brought the mircolite stroller, as a smaller and…"
10-Jan-2011
Hi
We brought the mircolite stroller, as a smaller and more portable stroller to be used as an alternative from our main and much loved Icandy peach. We use it when we go on holidays or out for a day that involves traveling. (as we have a dog and it helps on boot space)
Our 1 year old, does find it comfy.
It is very very easy to use, and it is very light and easy to stear. The off road is very good and robust so it really is a great out and about stroller option.
My only slight negative is that whilst i know it is comfortable i do not think he looks as comfy in the recline position as he is in the i candy but then they are different types of strollers so i guess this is not fair.
Additionally whilst it is very light.. it still takes up a fair bit of space in the boot, and you have to remove the wheels (which is very simiple) to make it as convient in the car as we wanted it for.
So i would definately recomend this as a more portable holiday, getting away stroller vs the main stroller
It is what it says - very light but robust, comfortable for awake time, it is so easy to steer and manover around.
It is a great purchase.Read moreLess4 people found this review helpful.

"I had the newborn carry cot for the fastfold which…"
10-Apr-2010
I had the newborn carry cot for the fastfold which is very comfortable for baby, there's a proper mattress so it can be used as a travel cot as well. Very bulky system though and not very portable! The carry cot does not fold so the pram took up the entire boot of my clio, and I still had to remove the parcel shelf! Also it's not easy to fold as the carry cot adapters have to be removed first.
It came into it's own as a pushchair, looks really funky and the rain cover and sun shield have their own bags for storage which is a good idea. It's big back wheels make it very easy to control and it stands on its own when folded which I've never seen before! I still found it quite heavy and it takes a bit of manoeuvring to get it in the car. It's also a little unbalanced and heaven forbid you take the baby out of the pushchair without removing all bags from the back first (including nappy bag)!
We've moved on to a simpler, lighter, stroller now but we did get 6 months good service out of the fastfold. I would recommend it if you're not driving every day!Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

"I have downgraded to the Super-Lite from a Bugaboo chameleon…"
03-Apr-2010
I have downgraded to the Super-Lite from a Bugaboo chameleon as the 2 part folding was annoying me and I felt disappointing in the quality having loved the Bugaboo Frog I had 6 years ago, I was dubious about buying a pushchair that costs so much less than my Bugaboo and it still being able to do all the same jobs but more importantly was lighter and easier to put up and take down, so far I like it.
It can't be everything the Bugaboo is, it can't face forwards and backwards which I liked about the Bugaboo but apart from that it is very similar or better. It is so easy to use, very light and agile. The fold mechanism is good, a little trickier when the seat liner is in place and the fact it can tip backwards very easily (as can all of these style buggies) is a disadvantage over my bugaboo, the under seat basket is not very big, but the bigger bugaboo one is harder to get at.
The HUGE advantage this buggy has over ALL the others of this type is the big wheels at the back, you can easily get over gravel, snow, sand etc The canopy is too small in my opinion and does not offer any real protection, if it came with the sun and bug net as well as the Rain cover(which it does come with) it would be better, but I'm just going to attach my shade-a-bub. It is a real shame this does not come in any girly colours, I would certainly buy a Bright Pink seat liner if they did one!! Overall Quite impressed but it is only 1 week...... My daughter is only 11 months I am not sure it will last until she is 4, but then again the lazy little blighters should not need one then, I think 3 years is long enough to be being pushed about (my son certainly did not miss his original Bugaboo Frog when he turned 3)Read moreLess5 people found this review helpful.

"I chose the Fastfold for my second baby after one…"
30-Nov-2009
I chose the Fastfold for my second baby after one of my friends recommended it to me. I have to confess it was the look of the stroller that first attracted me as I wanted something very different but I was completely won over by the manoeuvrability, ease of use (you really can control it with just one hand) and the fact that I could fit it in the boot of my very small car. My parents bought me the All Terrain Kit wheels when we went away on holiday which meant we could literally take it everywhere! This is a no-nonsense stroller that does exactly what it says it does!

Excellent for when you're out and about. Lightweight and foldable with one hand. Compact and fits in most boots. Ergonomic handles. Raincover/sunshade comes in little pouch bags that zip for storage.
This is a really easy to use pushchair and it does what it says on the tin.
Only downside I can see is that it's a bit too light and if you're baby isn't on the heavy-ish side then it could, in theory, tip over. Mine hasn't though and overall I'm really impressed with it. Great if you're out and about.Read moreLessMumsnetter johnworf

Initially a great buggy, used carrycot so could use from birth. Problems started after a year when front wheels started to freeze, this caused a few dangerous situations when crossing roads the buggy tipped over because one of the front wheels stopped turning. Despite being a good buggy otherwise we had to throw it away as we didn't consider it safe.

A very easy to fold buggy (WITHOUT the footmuff!) Which I would recomend for summer use due to that. Extremely easy to manouver although I sometimes feel that the wider wheels at the front are a little difficult to deal with. Why there is a shopping bascket i dont know as it is unusable!
Great raincover, there is little difference between the seat possitions. Over all a nice buggy.....would go for the newer version with better basket now. Wouldnt use as a main or only buggy though (this was just 1 of my many!!!!!)Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

24-Nov-2007
I've used a Micralite for my son since birth - first the carrycot, which was great - secure, well-protected - but HEAVY! V useful as a travel cot for a small baby. Since he hit 6 months we've used the chair, which he slumped down in for the first 2 months even though he was big for his age. Plus points: (a) As long as the front wheels are sound it manoeuvres brilliantly. (b) It's incredibly light, (c) it folds easily (though it's v tricky to secure in folded position) (d) it fits into the boot of our little Fiesta and (e) it's the funkiest buggy I've seen. Minus points: (a) the recline and upright positions are no good. It needs to go all the way down for sleep. (b) the front wheels on my buggy don't cope with uneven pavement surfaces (c) the basket's not big enough for everything I need to carry. Also (d) apparently it's not easy/ possible to fit a buggy board on the back for child no 2. Apart from those points I like it and would probably use it again for a second child. Bought it on ebay for

Cumbersome to use with MaxiCosi car seat, though connectors are available; lovely, manoeuvrable pram with the carrycot option (though my baby grew too long for it quite quickly), and as a pushchair folds easily, copes with most terrain, and turns on a sixpence. Limited recline though.

I love my Micralite but have had a couple of problems - namely both front wheels have snapped off and the stitching along the top of the seat unit has come undone causing the whole seat to slump. I would say though that Micralite were very quick to put these matters right and overall I'm extremely happy with it.

A great looking buggy that's "very easy to handle" and can be used off-road too. It folds easily one-handed, stands up on its own and is light enough to "pick up with one hand without any problems". You can buy a car seat and carry cot separately, so it can work as a travel system. The only real downside is the meagre shopping basket and the fact that it's "not the roomiest on the market" so may not suit a very large child. But if you're looking for something that does everything "this is a really stylish and versatile option".

The carrycot is very small, not very well attached to the frame. The seat is not suitable from three months! My son in just above average in size with a strong neck at four months but I am looking for something more suitable for him as he sits slumped and unsafe in a seat without a sleeping position. In a nutshell, get something else at least until the baby is older- it is small, light and flexible, you can get around easily, great for shopping and crowded streets, but not for small babies.

While i was pregnant with my son, we hunted high and low for the pushchair which would suit our life style. In a nut shell i strongly believe that the Micralite is by far the best investment we have. Not only is it a 3 in 1 (carrycot- to which i've had the most use of, travel system, its a buggy) Not just any buggy but a lightweight and easy to manoeuver buggy. It comes with everything you could need with rain covers and cosy toats to extra bags!! This is by far the best one i've seen on the market. What an achievement to know i can leave with my son in his car seat in one hand and the frame in the other with no hassle!!

07-Jan-2007
This is a well designed buggy and one of the lightest we found on the market. It takes a 0+ car seat and there's an optional carricot that fits it too. One big advantage for us was that it is freestanding when folded and doesn't take up much room (about 1 foot square). It's easy to push and looks stylish and compact. The carricot is small (our 4 month old will only be in it another few weeks, we think), but the latest model (Newborn Plus) comes with a larger one. We have only a few niggles with it. You have to carry around 3 extra rods to fit the car seat and carricot, which is a nightmare if you leave them behind, because you can't use it! Also the shopping basket is awkward to get anything into as it's so close to the bottom of the buggy. The buggy is quite comfortable with a mesh back which allows air to circulate when it's hot. You'll need the "cosy toes" for winter to stop cold draughts though! There is also no footrest, which may prove uncomfortable for a larger baby or toddler. Overall, we are very happy with it as our main priority was to get something as lightweight and small as possible.

It's a great pushchair, lighweight, easy to get around with in small shops etc...
But i have found the front small wheels a bit of a pain, if i push it over uneaven pavements in Hackney then quite often the front wheel will buckle underneath itself and the buggy won't move, i end up walking into the back of the buggy, and you then have to tip the buggy back onto the two bigger wheels at the back to allow the front wheels to right themselves, very annoying.
However a friend who has the same buggy doesn't seem to have this problem.
Maybe it's just me, or my particular buggy.

its extremely light and is great if you had a c section , can get out and about straight away, or if you use public transport a lot, but if you have a long baby like mine the carry cot doesn't last too long, so its definitely worth investing in the matching car seat as the actual pushchair is a little uncomfortable for a small baby.

07-Jan-2007
A super lightweight buggy. Very easy to fold and cart about as its so lightweight. My baby started using it at 7 months - but we often have to fold a towel under her little botty just to elevate her in her seat position slightly, otherwise, she does tend to look a bit slumped in the chair, but having said that, she can easily sit forward, recline or sleep in the chair. The seat has 2 different positions but to be honest, there is very little difference between the two.
For me the big selling point is how light and stylish it is. I have mine in Olive Green and often receive comments on what a fab pushchair it is.
In my opinion, it beats the Quinny Zapp hands down in practical terms (I had a zapp but returned it as it was lovely to look at but completely impractical - no storage and fixed seat position etc).
I absolutely love this buggy and would urge anyone to 'test drive' it if they are considering spending around ?150 on a new lightweight buggy. I got mine from EBay for this price - delivery was free.Read moreLess"A constant source of compliments, I adore my micralite and…"

A constant source of compliments, I adore my micralite and so does my son. It makes public transport almost easy and goes in the boot of our not-very-big car with ease. An added bonus, the pram section doubles up as a travel cot for the first few months (this is an added extra to make the buggy suitable from birth). The only downside was a somewhat awkward transition from the pram to the pushchair - my son grew a bit big for the pram before he was fully ready for the pushchair.

This really is a great buggy but with a big BUT. It really is not suitable from birth with the cot, or from 3 months with the buggy (unless you've got a strapping baby! With the cot on it, it is top heavy and prone to tipping (especially on cornering buses!). and as a buggy it just doesn't seem comfortable for smaller/younger babies - they always look squished. That said, we've hung onto ours and now our little boy's eight months he really is enjoying it and so are we!

07-Jan-2007
With my first child i struggled across fields and muddy farm paths with an inappropriate pushchair, so for child number 2 I wanted something light weight that would cope with slightly harsher terrain than your average high street and so far the Micralite has been fantastic. The position of the large back wheels mean that it is easy to steer with one hand, making it great for dog walking and because of their size and the lockable front wheels the pushchair doesn't get stuck on uneven footpaths. So far ours has taken on beaches, some very muddy footpaths and some quite steep grassy hills and has not let us down. My only gripes are that the shopping basket is very small and difficult to access when the child is in the pram (I keep poking baby in the back when I use the basket) and hanging much off the handlebars does make it liable to tip, although I have found a small hiking rucksack will fit nicely below the handlebars and not tip the buggy.
In summary if you want an off roader without spending a fortune on a large three wheeler the Micralite is fantastic, just don't expect it to hold a large picnic.Read moreLess"I have only used this buggy with a max cosi…"

I have only used this buggy with a max cosi car seat so far but I had to comment on how fantastic it is to manoeuver when out and about. The folding mechanism is easy and fast (as the name suggests). It is really light, so pushing and steering it with one hand is a synch. So far the only downfall to this buggy is the shopping basket, it is almost impossible to get anything into it when the car seat is fitted.

I loved my micralite, which we had from our son's birth to nearly a year. It was very easy to manoeuvre, and super-light. It is easy to fold and store, and stands alone well, not taking up much space at homre or in the car. Durability seems to be a problem, though. The first was absolutely fine and took quite a bit of punishment, but it was lost and two replacements both broke within a week of purchase (in both cases the front wheel snapped off, so there may be a design fault there). Reluctantly thinking of finding another model.

After exchanging the buggy for another Micralite, the same thing happened, again the front left wheel snapped off!. Both buggies had been used intermittently over 8 to 10 weeks with a maxi cosi carseat fitted. I personally would not recommend this buggy to anyone as the front wheels are extremely weak.

I love my micralite. It's so light and easy to manouevre, I can push it with one finger even with my now heavy toddler in it. It's brilliant on bumpy roads as the back wheels are inflatable. Its really easy to fold up. Mine came with a fleecy footmuff which fits really well into the buggy although my toddlers legs are too long to fit into it now. My only gripe is the rain cover which comes in a tiny pouch that I've never been able to fit it back into. And the sun shade doesn't come forwards enough to be really effective.

I bought this buggy as it had just come out and i wanted something a little but different - didnt want to be another mclaren mummy!
The buggy is amazingly easy to use, and can be folded up and down with one hand. It also freestands when it is folder up so you do not need to bend down to rest it on the ground, or find something to lean it against.
I found this SO handy when waiting at bus stops etc, with DS in my arms and i didnt have to think about the buggy.
It also is extremely light, and even i (a total weakling) can get it on and off the bus with one hand.
It is very easy to get around and has an amazing 360 turning circle. This is perfect for getting around shops and busy streets. The big tyres at the back provide comfort for the baby, while the small wheels at the front control steering. These can also be fixed or not, I never fix mine in place, but if you are used to normal fixed wheel buggies then it might be preferable, or if you are going over uneven ground it is also handy.
It is also very comfortable for your child, as the sling-like design provides maximum comfort. There are no poles behind your childs back to get uncomfortable on. This also adds to the sleek, fashionable design. Also lending to the design are the U shaped handles, which can be moved into any position you like (The buggy even comes with a very handy Allen key for moving them with, on a wee clip near the wheels).
The only downside I would say is that the front bar (where your child might want to put their feet) folds up as part of the design, and this is fine, except sometimes when people try to help you up stairs for example, they generally grab this bit, and this could have the potential to fold. If it did, it would post no actual danger to your baby, but it would give them a bit of a fright. As it happens, this has never actually happened to me, but it is a warning, just to be careful.
The raincover is good as well and very easy to put on and off. It comes in a handy wee carrying bag.
I have found this buggy to be extremely good and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone.Read moreLess"I found that my 2 year old looked very squashed…"

I found that my 2 year old looked very squashed in the pushchair although was brilliant to open and for a pushchair with big wheels it took up little space in my car!

I love this buggy, I have had this buggy for nearly two years for my second and third sons. It is so easy to push with one hand which is important if you have an older toddler and you need to hold his hand. It is very lightweight and easy and quick to fold. You can buy great accessories like the newborn carrycot which I got seperately for my third son, I have also and got the rain cover and sunshade which cover the whole buggy and fit into nice little bags that hang onto the handles for when they are needed. The shopping bag is quite large and there is a little secret zip pocket under the hood for keys and purse and things.
All round great buggy and not mentioned very often, cheaper version of the bugaboo and better in my opinion.Read moreLess"Be very careful, my front wheel snapped right off when…"

Despite initial good impressions this buggy has let us down. The front wheels have seized up on many occasions and despite getting new wheels from the shop where we bought it they are still a problem. The wheels seizing has caused the buggy to fall over on more than one occations and we are now replacing it as we don't think it is safe.

Very very very lightweight - I have three prams/buggies and it is far and away the lightest. Can lift it in my left hand easily whilst holding 12 month old in the other arm. Handle is very well designed too, easy to wheel with either one hand or two. I can pull my wheely laptop bag with one hand and push baby with the other as it is so light and easy to steer. BUT not sure how durable it will be long term - front wheels seem very fragile. It is also terrible for shopping as the lightest bag on the bars tends to overbalance it when I lift the baby out. The hood is also pretty much useless, as their position is too far forward for it to shade them from sun or rain. But my husband won't use any other buggy at all, and my baby boy loves it and sleeps in it more than the other prams including luxurious Silver Cross model, so it's a hit with me for that reason alone!

We had one for a year. Ithink they look great and we used it with a carseat from birth. However we did break it after acouple of holidays, Paris and Edinburgh. The mechanism wore out and the seat tore. It is one of the grooviest looking buggies around.
