"BEST BUGGY EVER! A STAR, best review here…"
14-Mar-2013
I am a modern dad, and I drive fast cars and motorbikes, so I purchased a VIBE !
Steers perfectly, fits my kids perfectly. Looks like a Ferrari of buggies. Easy to fold, easy to transport. And can fold with both seats and fits in my passage at home. Perfect two seat buggy.
Simply put its best out of all the junk buggies I tested, and trust me I tested around 50.
Is expensive, so thats the downside, but you pay for style, practical use. And if you smart you buy from eBay like I did for half price, so its value for money!
You could buy a Bugahoo, or whatever they call it, or a iSandy, or whatever. But u will be buying piece of junk with hard wheels, and it looks like a wheelchair (Bugawhoboo).
Only real downside is for weak small women. They may find it hard to push, lift and fold. They should get a real man that helps his lady. Thats the solution, a modern cool dad like me.
If you get this you will be the coolest person in your kids school.
Anyhow, just buy it, ignore anyone that says its hard to fold or push, or u need to pump the tyre, they probably drive there car with flat illegal tyres.
So re-cap
1. BEST LOOKING DOUBLE BUGGY EVER
2. EASY TO FOLD AND STORE
3. EASY TO STEER AND VERY GOOD FOR PARK USE
4. I AM A REAL MAN, HELPS HIS LADY AND SUPER COOL DAD OF THREE LOVELY DAUGHTERS AND ONE LOVELY SON (WHO WILL ALSO BE A REAL MAN IN YEARS TO COME)
Hope you enjoyed my review. If not go buy a Bug-a-You. lolRead moreLessMumsnetter johnthedaddy

The vibe was amazing when i first had my n/b dd and 11mnth ds, however now they are nearly 1 and 2 years old it is very heavy to push and steer,It is heavy when lifting into the boot of a car and takes up a lot of space no good if you have a small car!!! Have now bought a mclaren techno twin for going out on walks!! However will keep the vibe for shopping as it is great for getting thru shop doorways, aisles!

26-Jun-2011
I took this one for a spin and found that my 19 month old daughter is already too tell for the toddler seat. We had her on the front as we are expecting baby 2 and he will be at the back, flat.
The toddlers seat can go up and down to accomodate extra long legs but the hard sticky out bit at the top of the toddlers seat is right in the middle of the back of my daughters head. She is far too young to walk everywhere I want to go which is why we need a double. Phil and Teds have failed to consider the taller customer!Read moreLessMumsnetter MummyBump

"For a double buggy it is a huge improvement on…"
15-Apr-2011
For a double buggy it is a huge improvement on any side by side and this is by far the nicest looking double I have seen.
I do love this buggy, it is easy to steer, get up or down kerbs, through doorways and narrow shop aisles.
The only bad points I have found are the brakes can be a bit difficult to release at times and also can be too easy to put on my mistake due to the position of them.
The front seat straps don't seem to be long enough when toddler gets a bit older meaning they can't be secured properly.
The back seat has a recline on it but again when baby gets to about 6 months it is useless as the bar on the top of the seat means they get too tall for it to be reclined.
In spite of all these faults though I still love it and think it is well worth the money.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

04-Dec-2010
i used to like this but as i have now had two where the chassis has sheared at the frame. I no longer am impressed. It has some features that i really like though - it's roomier than the sport, the brake in the handlebar is good and they've improved the shape of handlebar as well. The front wheel has a tendency to buckle and the tyres wear thin very easily. For an expensive bit of kit i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Have owned a vibe for almost a year and absolutely love it.
Its absolutely true what people say about needing to take thw wheels off and lubricate with pledge every now and again and also needing to pump the tyres up every now and again... however in my opion its a small price to pay for a brilliant buggy.
IT looks amazing and works well as long as you have pumped and lubricated.
The only other prestigious alternatives are the Bugaboo and this looks like a wheelchair, only fits one child and has solid wheels that wont let you go up even the smallest of curbs.
Woth the money... ignore the moaners!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"I absolutley LOVE the vibe and think its the best…"
06-Oct-2010
I absolutley LOVE the vibe and think its the best buggy on the market bar none.
Picture the scene... you want to buy a double buggy because you are having a baby and plan to have a second. You probably dont want a side by side because they are big, bulky and ugly. You have probably looked at the Bugaboo and the Phil and Teds Sport / Dash / Explorer because you want a nice looking buggy that holds some cred. You have discounted the Bugaboo because they look a little like a wheelchair (think about it) and the only option for baby number 1 is a boogie board, which you know in reality wont work for long because they will get tired. You like the sport, but lets face it, the brake is crap and the black metal makes it look dated... plus everyone has a sport and it kinds takes away the buzz of owning a prestigious buggy.
So that leaves the vibe... sure its basically a posher version of the Sport for a lot more money, but its worth every penny.
The cool silver and black remind you of a ranger rover sport or an Audi Q7... you know you will be king of the block if you own one of these bad boys, plus they are very easy to collapse and put together. The brake works well and they are easy to manoeuvre.
If I had to poke holes in the buggy (trust me no buggy is perfect) then it would be the following:
a) the front wheel can occasionally be hard to turn. If this happens you need to pump up the typres and take the wheels off and spray them with pledge (silicon based lubricant). This solves the problems everytime.
b) the wheels do deflate now and again. If this happens invest in an electric pump... no big deal. The alternative is a solid wheeled Bugaboo, which means your child gets a bumpy ride and you cant go up even a small curb.
c) the silver frame does seem to scratch easily... not a massive problems and one you can live with.
I would also advise getting the inner padding... not because the default isnt comfy, but you are spending close toRead moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

"Bought this 7 months ago for my then 5 month…"
23-Jul-2010
Bought this 7 months ago for my then 5 month old and 3 year old. The cocoon is great and really cosy and when it works it's a great buggy but it has real problems.
The front wheel sticks. We keep it oiled with pledge and WD40 but sometimes not even they help and we have sometimes had problems even getting it to move. However this week it turned out to be dangerous. The first time was going down hill and the buggy almost tipped over. Thanks to passers by who helped me it didn't. Today it jammed again in the middle of a busy central London street (where we live) and traffic had to slam on the brakes. Not one of my favourite parenting moments.
Hand brake sticks.
Front seat is on the small side for a toddler. They will have to scrunch up if they want to use the foot rest on the front seat and also to fit under the rain shield which barely covers the foot rest.
Also the three point harness on the front seat is too small for a toddler so they can't be securely strapped in.
Hardly any storage when in doubles mode.
Accessories are pricey.
Punctures.
Takes a long time to fold and unfold. Not as easy as umbrella folding buggies, if that makes sense.
On the whole and bearing in mind the seriously dangerous problems with the front wheel sticking I wish I'd saved my money and bought something else.Read moreLessMumsnetter roseb

07-Jul-2010
This is a great pram for toddler & baby and I loved the cocoon. I agree with other reviews about the front wheel - it can stick and then it's really hard to steer - especially with the weight of 2.
It's expensive, but worth it for the ease of carrying 2 and being able to get in and out of shops- although if you only have 1 child, then it is not a patch on the Jane slalom pro (which I still love and use when I only have 1 child with me) The vibe is not great for off road and the ride can be a bumpy, but overall I do not regret my purchase.Read moreLessMumsnetter JaneRobertson

"I have a 15 month gap and couldn't drive when…"
22-May-2010
I have a 15 month gap and couldn't drive when dc2 was born. Lots of walking and public transport. The P&T kept me sane. Very easy to handle, felt very light, got through every door and round shops no problem. Both dcs very happy. The cocoon is a godsend - got to literally sling dd2 over shoulder in without waking him up. Very useful cause dc1 only just started walking when he born and would often want carrying. BUT here are the bad point: ** No storage when in doubles mode. ** The handbrake was stiff as first (though fine after a while and i came to really love it. ** Lots of punctures, and it's very difficult to remove tyre to replace inner tube. Halfords have made a fortune out of me. ** Raincover is too big to carry round and basically unusable. ** Can't recline back seat properly. I am about to sell mine and buy a nipper 360. I can now drive so less public transport. Also, dc2 is now coming up to first birthday and doesn't fall asleep the moment he gets in buggy. I never thought it'd matter to me, but i really want them side by side now so the littler one can see more. All the other smaller problems i mentioned above are really secondary to me wanting to change to a side by side. In all, the Vibe is a joy to push, kept me sane during a very tough year and got me out in all weathers and in all shops. It's a very expensive option though. I also worry that i will by a nipper and really regret no having bought a buggy which allows both/either kid to lie flat earlier.

19-Apr-2010
I bought this for my 2 year old and newborn. The cocoon is brilliant! I would say a must have for a newborn! The pushchair itself has its issues..... The brake can be a bit fickle and lock on when rolling along. Initially when it is new its a bit fiddly to fold down - you must make sure the basket is tucked in before collapsing otherwise it gets jammed under the wheel and it wont close. It is wide and sometimes the steering makes it troublesome to get in and out of shops (cant count the times I've rammed into walls !). The front wheel will stick - pledge or WD40 will do the trick but do it before it rains!!! The tyres are not great - keep them pumped up. Finally - and very worrying, it tipped over with my newborn in ... my 2 year old got out and it just crashed back (both daughters ok!).

07-Apr-2010
I liked this buggy a lot when it was being used for newborn in cocoon and toddler seat up top. Except toddler DS was only 2 and he was already too tall for toddler seat. I had to push the seat through and now there is no recline on it at all.
Now DD 1.5 hates the rear seat and DS 3.5, who i am trying to discourage from using it at all, legs hang over the end of the front seat and he looks ridiculous.
It was good as an inline but wish i had bought the sport as there seems to be much more room in back and it is cheaper.Read moreLessMumsnetter Nettiespagetti

"I have just bought the Vibe, probably my 5th double…"
07-Mar-2010
I have just bought the Vibe, probably my 5th double pushchair! I originally bought the Classic but sold it almost straight away as my son didn't seem to have much space for his shoulders, I also found it a bit flimsy and didn't like having to take the double seat off for folding. I am quite fussy about pushchairs and so far am really loving the Vibe! It helps if you make sure the wheels have air in them-as I found out after a worrying first use!! I read about someone who kept putting the brake on by mistake, but haven't had this problem myself, no pushchair is 100% perfect for everyone, but I really do like this one. Someone said it was heavy, but I now using my roof box to store it as I have a Zaphira and need the 7 seats up all the time-I am a child minder as well as a mum of 2 boys under 5. I can get it in and out quite easily and find folding it and unfolding it quite reasonable time wise and ease wise. I fully recommend it. Good Luck!!

please please do not buy this pushchair my 15 month old who sits in the bottom seat managed to get his hand caught in the wheel....poor thing is distraught to the point he screams when i try and put him in it. I am currently speaking to the company who seem far from helpful.
the back seat is very uncomfortable and does not recline. Trying to put the buggy together when you are alone with 2 toddlers is a nightmare, if you put the baby in first the whole thing topples over!

"I am utterly fed up with this push chair. On…"
01-Dec-2009
I am utterly fed up with this push chair. On our first trip out I hit a tree and a car because of an issue with the front wheel sticking. I got the merchant we bought it from to check it over, and it came back working ok. Two weeks and about four trips (all on-road) later, and the same thing has happened again. This time I nearly ended up pushing my two young children into a main road because of this issue with the wheel pointing in the wrong way. I ended up tipping it backwards and only using the rear tires. I would urge anyone thinking of buying this pushchair to make really sure before doing so.
I agree it looks good, it folds small and the carrycot is great. However to my mind the cons definitely outweigh the pros. Plus I agree with other comments about space, raincover, lack of support for top toddler etc.Read moreLessMumsnetter cajo

Great - very happy with it (finally...) - not used the double kit yet. One thing you need to know - especially you josephines2 - is that you need to lubricate the wheel for it to turn properly.
All you need to do is to take off the front wheel (why not do the side ones while you're at it) and spray some silicone-based polish (pledge will do).
This turns the vibe from being an impossible to drive nightmare to the perfect vehicle for the yummy mummy (or daddy) about town.
So remember - USE PLEDGE AND LUBRICATE!!!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

I've recently bought a phil & teds vibe - the only critisism I have is the direction of the front wheel, if it's facing the wrong way you end up going backwards and forwards! I'm really struggling with it, especially in shops where you turn a lot.
I dont know if it's cos i'm 8 mths pregnant and find it heavy or just not used to a 3 wheeler? It's very frustrating. apart from that I love it. Bit big though.Read moreLessMumsnetter josephines2

29-Jul-2009
Um'd and aw'd for ages then bought one. DS 2yrs when daughter born. He only just fit in toddler seat (had to turn the top inside out). Great whilst in the cocoon for DD. DS loved being high up. Bit of a faff trying to get up and down, as for lying main seat down, drives me bananas after using my Jane for DS for 2 years.
Definately G8 4 double buggy and for 1st 3 months after that not so sure. If i would do it again i would have squirreled myself away or made DS walk (good walker anyway). In saying that did feel house bound for 1st month as DS had tendency to try run away whilst not in buggy.
Raincover not G8 doesnt really fit over both seats even with double.
Still not used to the brake being in middle of handlebars. We stall on occasion even now 8 months on.Read moreLessMumsnetter MrsNetz

"I think my Vibe does the job and fits in…"
13-Jul-2009
I think my Vibe does the job and fits in my boot. However I am a bit picky, and was disappointed with the seat pad not being foam as it looks in the pictures. The tyres are too soft for off road billions of punctures after a walk in the woods. Jane was much better. I love the cocoon but this is only good when they are under about 4-5 months. The extra seat is small and a toddlers head will lol forwards when they sleep, it cant lay back as much as you would like if fitted on the front or back of the main seat. When on the front the extra seat does not allow fixture of the bumper bar, yet this is when you need it most. At 6 months my little one is sitting in the extra seat at the back, and my two year old is in the front. The 6 month old cannot lay back enough but the toddler can, if you want to swap them round it is hard work getting the straps through the seat pad and sleeping bags as the holes for the straps are too small for the pads (which are sewn on to the straps) so forget about changing seats when you are out an about! Forget about buying the storm cover as it is too bloody hard to fold and if you can get it in the basket you cant carry anything else.
Having said all that, it works, you can get around easily with two young kids, We took it on holiday to the new Forest and apart from getting the inner tube fixed, it was durable. Toddler was sick but the seat pad washed easily and dried quickly. It does what I wanted it too, gives me some independence! I can manage going out alone with the two kids. The buggy is easy to fold when you know how, though it does not stand alone when folded, but I just pop it straight in the boot. Nice simple system, with a few teething issues that you can get around, because it is compact and works! The kids are happy in it and slept well when out for the day so, if they are happy, I am!Read moreLessMumsnetter poopoopoo

Hoping when baby and toddler swap around it gets easier to push. Easy to fold and construct. Cocoon bril for newborn, mine slept overnight in it in her crib!

25-Mar-2009
I am really very disappointed with the P&T Vibe and feel it has been a huge waste of money and am selling it after only 4 months. I have 28 month old and a 4 month old and I'm not satissified with the comfort that the pushchair provides for either child. The doubles seat is far to small for my older child (who is skinny but tall for age) and offers this child no head support at all and the harness just fits. I have also found that there is only about 5cms space above the 4 month's old head in the doubles seat before it hits the metal frame which means that soon I will not be able to recline a very young baby. I used a carrycot for my first child and hate to see children sleeping in buggies with hunched shoulders and quite honestly the Vibe is no better than a cheap buggy, accept for the price tag and the fact that it looks good.

I love this push chair. It has big comfy seats for both children and it is really easy to push. My baby is really comfy in the lie flat bit and I can see her face as I push the buggy along (I don't have a cocoon and it is fine without). The brake is great as it is on the handle so really accessible. It is such a compact double and fits most places.
Annoying things: The rain cover is a monster and the shopping basket is small. I have got round this by using hooks hanging from the handlebar. The frame scratches quite easily.
I have heard that it is hard to fold, I have not found this. One of the selling features is that you can fold with both seats attached, but to be honest this is more hassle than it is worth and I don't bother.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.
