"Excellent for walks…"
24-Oct-2012
I got the quinny speedi 3 wheeler as a second pushchair after discovering that the pushchair I had originally bought (graco fusio) did not cope well with even the smallest of bumps.
The speedi has large wheels and suspension meaning that it gives baby a smooth ride whatever the terrain. We mainly use it for long walks. It is wider than most pushchairs and doesn't fit round the shops very well.
It is heavy to get in and out of the car and takes up quite a lot of space in the boot. However this is not a problem if you only plan to use it occasionaly.
We bought ours second hand on ebay for a very reasonable price and it was in great condition so clearly stands up to a bashing! We also have the carrycot for newborns and with adaptors it can also be used with a maxicosi car seat.
Overall a good pushchair for longer walks.Read moreLessMumsnetter MrsDuds

"I heart my speedi. I've only given 7 for durability…"
22-Nov-2011
I heart my speedi. I've only given 7 for durability but that's only as I can't comment as we haven't had it long enough.
DD is now in the pushchair section having been in the pram and car seat attachments previously.
This buggy is a dream to push and DD is really comfy in it. The only down sides I've found is it's size (it's still big even when folded) and that DD can't sit fully straight up in it - she always partially reclines due to it's design.
We bought ours second hand and it's going strong still. We had one wheel puncture with a slow puncture but it was easy enough to sort out. I don't see many of these out and about and one woman in a shopping centre stopped me once to say she had one to and she loved it! It's certainly much easier to push than most other buggies I've ever tried.
It is quite large (as in wide) so getting around shops can be interesting (says she who got stuck inbetween bollards in Ikea [blush] ). I also found due to this that as 6 months when I moved my dd to the push chair she was too small for it and we had to buy an insert from quinny for just this purpose of where they are too big for car seat but too little for buggy. This has worked really well. I think it cost me aboutRead moreLessMumsnetter reastie

This is a great pushchair. I like the configurability of it - cot/maxi cosi when baby is very small then you can move on to the push chair and it's very high quality. Additionally you can fix the front wheel so that you can run with it. The cot was very comfortable for my son and I liked how it's positioned higher than most others I have seen. The only complaint I have is that it's quite wide and some London buses are too narrow for us to get in via the front door. The only other thing I would recommend is that if you take this onto a plane be sure to fasten the maxi cosi up otherwise you will probably lose the little straps that are on the buckles.

Love this pushchair, i swapped my quinny buzz for the Speedi so the car seat and carrycot still fit on. Light to push and fols down well with more room if you take the wheels off. As the others have commented, this pushchair doesn't sit upright therefore my son finds this frustrating. The velcro straps that fit throught the loops on the handle; if you undo these and manage to attach them to each other at the back, it pushes the seat upwards more.

I live in the country and do allot of walking - mostly on roads etc but it is really easy to push but not really pratical for going round the shops. I recently purchased a small buggy for my boot. You could walk for miles and you dont know your pushing a pram. Still use the carrycot and carseat allot my baby is 6 mnths.

"We bought this as a travel system (carrycot and car…"
21-Feb-2009
We bought this as a travel system (carrycot and car seat included). I had an emcs and found the light steering and maneuverability on this pram a godsend in the early weeks. Having the carrycot was also really useful as you could clip it on and off allowing my DD to fall asleep in it prior to walks if need be and be moved into the house after walks, etc.
DD is now 2 and still favours this pram over her stroller for comfort and smoothness of ride. DH likes it because he is much taller than me and can adjust the handle height easily. I like the one-handed folding and ease of removal of wheels, as well as the light steering as already mentioned. The cosytoes were really cosy too.
We got a 3-wheeler for using on forest tracks and beaches, and it has coped fine with all the terrain we've tried. Thick mud was about the only thing it didn't deal well with.
Bugbears would be (bearing in mind that no pram is perfect!):
It still is quite bulky when folded.
The carrycot was really heavy (a problem after cs) and has an open hole in the rainhood which is an issue in Scotland in the winter.
The clips which alter the handle height aren't the most secure. They have slipped when we've been pulling the buggy up stairs - but they only slip as far as the maximum height so there's no danger of them coming out.
My daughter loves sitting upright and does get sometimes get frustrated that she's inclined (leading to her sneaking off her straps). I've heard that some get round this by propping the seat up with those elastic hooks you get for roof racks, so I might try that.
I don't think the build quality is as good as a Jane slalom, but the Quinny folds down a bit smaller. We were lured by this, and the fact that the MaxiCosi car seat has great safety reviews (unlike the Matrix) and can be used with an isofix base.
In all, I'm happy with our purchase.Read moreLessMumsnetter hobnob57

Very easy and light to use. Position of seat has not been an issue. At 3 yrs old my tall-for-her-age daughter still fits comfortably. I also use it for my newborn by putting in a bit of extra padding. It takes a buggy board well because the handles are height adjustable. My 3 year old stands inside the handle bar but we have taken off the handbrake lever to give her more space (I never used it anyway). Still, not as maneuverable as the twin Out'n'About Nipper which has slightly larger wheels but then the 3yr old no longer fits in that one.

I would buy this buggy anytime again. Its manoeverability is excellent. It folds up realy easyly and all the wheels come off easyly. It is the only buggy that my daughter still falls a sleep in at the age of one and a half. The hand break has proven to be very useful in our more hilly area.

"I used this buggy from 3 month and found it…"
25-Sep-2007
I used this buggy from 3 month and found it to be an excellent purchase. It is a nice roomy ride for baby and is great for walks. It folds up well and the wheels come off very easily for small car boots.
The only downsides are the fact it is only forward facing (I missed being able to see my little one) and I found it slightly wide when shopping. Also it does not have an upright enough seat for my son - I had to customise mine so that he could sit more upright.
I have since used other buggies and none have had the comfort factor that this one gave my son (he fell asleep very easily in it!). Also I love the fact that you can clip the Maxi Cosi car seat onto the frame and also the Dreami carrycot making it a good travel system.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.
