Trek 2012 Trikester

My 27 month old son has just tried about 40 vehicles in Toys-R-US with no success, then we went to our local excellent bike shop (Ben Haywards, Cambridge) and bought this trike. The trike is brilliant and really well designed. There is a long distance between the pedals and the back wheel so he fairly tanks along without hitting his feet as they go back and forth. The wheels are big so good for rougher terrain, and the pedal shanks are long so he can pedal along with ease, when he has not previously been able to pedal any other trike. The saddle is padded and comfy, and the bike is really handsome looking, so my son did not need to be persuaded away from some other fancy looking impractical model as we have found in so many other shops.

The pedals can be taken off and on and there is room for another child to stand on the back and have a ride. There is also plenty of room for growth, and the trike is super-stable, so no risk of falls.

I had actually intended to buy him a balance bike, but I am much happier with this. He tried several balance bikes and was no interested, but with this one he just buzzes along and steers carefully round obstacles. Well done Trek!
