"Excellent for travelling with babies - good protection from insects…"
06-Nov-2012
I agree with comments made by other reviewers but it does have some great advantages over traditional travel cots. The cot sheet problem is easily solved. Hem suitable material into a 108cm x 60cm sheet then attach four 55cm lengths of 4cm flat elastic - one at each end and the other two 30cms down from the ends. The sheet then fits round the matress between the velcro pads and stays put even when used by a very wriggly baby!

"Try collapsing this in a hurry!!…"
04-Jul-2012
The night before going away with our baby for the first time, I decided to have a look at the mattress on this cot (borrowed from a friend) as I wasn't sure how I'd put a sheet on it. Answer: you can't! Anyway, as I opened the zip, the cot catapulted across the room and popped up. So it's v easy to put up. However, maybe for a laugh, my friend didn't give us the instructions with it, and my partner and I cursed our way through an hour of trying to fold the blimmin thing up without breaking it. We found a video by Samsonite on YouTube - a full patronising 3 mins of how to put it up, but nothing on how to dismantle. Luckily a kind frustrated owner has also posted on of her own so we wrestled it back in.
It actually works pretty well, is light, and is v portable, although we often put something like a towel or rug under the cot itself to make the mattress a bit softer but the design of the cot doesn't allow you to put a sheet on the mattress which makes for a lot of tedious sponge cleaning.Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

Good idea but unfortunately poor quality - badly finished so there were lots (gave up counting at 40) of loose threads around the seams and throughout the inside. I dread to think what could have happened if my baby had ended up with them in his mouth or wrapped around a finger. There were so many that I took it back for a refund straight away. I have been in touch with the manufacturer but have received no response, so I can only assume that child safety is not a priority to them.

"I find my pop up bubble cot to be great…"
12-Oct-2009
I find my pop up bubble cot to be great for taking on holiday as it is so light and compact that I can put it into my normal holdall and not worry about it taking up valuable space or wieght allowance. Even if you get to your destination and find that there is a suitable cot already provided, you don't feel like you've wasted any effort carrying your own one around!
I find it very easy to put up and take down and the mozzie net is great for when I travel abroad (and for keeping the cat out!).
I find that because it sits directly on the floor that I'd rather not place it on a hard floor for fear of my little one being uncomfy or getting cold and it means that I have to bend down. Ug.
My other complaint is that because the mattress velcros into place, that I can't put the mattress in a fitted sheet to protect it from accidents. I tend to wrap it up in a large cot sheet around the middle of the mattress instead.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

so light and portable, really useful for trips involving baggage limits! lovely soft sides have been good for our 5 week old - who loves to flail his arms around and refuses to be swaddled - he would constantly wake up when he hit his arms on the sides of his moses basket, so we've switched to this as his regular bed. cant imagine he will fit in it much beyond six months, it's failr flimsy, but fine for a newborn (with a different mattress though, the one it comes with is dreadful...)

"We loved the pop up travel cot for the first…"
09-Apr-2009
We loved the pop up travel cot for the first few times we used it. As with other reviewers we put something soft under it to make up for the thin mattress. The big but comes now...
it is ABSOLUTELY USELESS once your child starts moving. We had to rush out at tea time in rural Devon to find a traditional travel cot as our 8 month old son was cartwheeling round the room in his pop up one! My nephew did the same thing in his we later discovered.
I would only recommend this for the short period that your child is out of a carry cot and not crawling so if you are travelling lots at that time then it may well be worth the money but if not, don't bother.Read moreLess5 people found this review helpful.

03-Jun-2008
Our son slept in this cot for 5/6 months as his main bed whilst we travelled around Australia camping. He was 4.5 months when we first used it. Setting up was easy but putting away took abit of practice. It was very light and small. However we had to get a specially made matress to fit it as the mattress with it is very thin and only for occasional use. He loved it and every night when we put it up he snuggled into it like a long lost friend! The zip broke at the end of our trip but by then he had been moving/crawling for a couple of months and often put strain on it by poking his head into the mesh. The mosquito mesh was invaluable and he didn't get bitten once. Not sure it would last until 18 months though as there are no pegs or anything to stabilise it once baby is on the move.

This is a fantastic buy for holidays and camping. Both DS's used it and it was suitable until they were about 2. It's lightweight and encloses them away from bugs and the poking fingers of older brothers when they're sleeping close to each other. It does need a soft layer under the cot as the matress is thin and I had to make my own sheet to fit as the velcro fastenings get in the way of a fitted one. I didn't find it a problem to fold away although it had security at the airport stumped when they wanted to check it. X-ray machines show it up as a wire hoop when in the bag! I would definitely buy one again and will happily lend mine to friends and family now mine are too big for it. I'm keeping it as mine though, as an easier alternative to a traditional travel cot for when little ones visit us!

28-Sep-2007
Very light and easy to carry when compared to a traditional travel cot. The cot carry handles fit over my buggy handles which made it easy getting around with. Easy to assemble, takes a few goes to sort out repacking it but easy once you get the hang of it. Practise it before you go on holiday though! We got for our newborn and it will last a while. Our 3 y.o. loves using it as a tent so he plays in it when we're home. The mattress could be softer, I use a sheepskin under the baby and hard to fit sheets to. A sleep bag is handy. Overall very good and saves the worry of what the cot at hotels will be like. Zips up with mesh to so protects baby from creepy crawlies.

"This is the larger version of the Deluxe pop up…"
14-Sep-2007
This is the larger version of the Deluxe pop up cot. It claims to be suitable up to 18 months. We bought this to take on holiday for our daughter who was 3 months old at the time. We used it a couple of times when she was tiny but she wouldn't settle in the enclosed environment and by 6 months old it was useless as it turns into an expensive hamster wheel once baby is able to roll over or sit up. It is very small and lightweight but only useful if you have a baby who is easy to settle and doesn't move around the cot much or wake very easily - wouldn't we all like one of them!
