"Best for younger children I think and not strong enough"
10-Nov-2008
Best for younger children I think and not strong enough for tricks. That said, it's excellent value for money and if you just want a scooter for scooting on, then it does what it says on the tin! Cost around £10

"We paid a fiver for one and it was money"
07-Nov-2008
We paid a fiver for one and it was money well spent although the quality is obviously not up there with the best - it folds down well but can be a bit awkward / stiff to do so and there are a few hard edges. However, for it's intended task of pavement / drive cruising it is perfectly good for age 2.5 onward. I think the main issue with any of the small wheel scooters is that they are very dependent on a smoothish surface to work well so are useless on any surface that is soft / cracked / potholed etc. They are also hard work on any form of hill! My own recommendation is that a large wheeled scooter is infinitely more versatile for a ( slightly ) older child although there is a downside in portability.

Very well made, easy to assemble and to close down, strong wheels suitable for most children from aged six upwards as it is strong and able to hold a heavier child

"Cheap as chips these make great presents. My children got"
04-Nov-2008
Cheap as chips these make great presents. My children got these (their first two wheeler scooters) around age fireworks and it took them a while to conquer it, but now age seven and almost ten they both love to go out scooting. We're on, I think, our second or third version of these, but for under a tenner each you can afford not to worry too much. The folding mechanism can be a bit stiff, and did break on one of ours eventually, but unlike bikes these fit into even the most measly boots which means we can actually have a decent length family walk (ie adults walk, children scoot). Plus if you're heading into town and the children get tired/ it starts to rain, you can fold up the scooters and jump on the bus.
