"An excellent all rounder with all the expected Outwell quality…"
16-Jul-2008
An excellent all rounder with all the expected Outwell quality and a few differences (eg bed layout) that suit the larger family well.
The tent is easy to pitch (although heavy so does require 2 at stages), very waterproof and solid.
The bed pod layout is 2 X 3 beds at back as per normal Outwell six man, plus a separate hanging pod for two people that easily acomodates our kingsize airbed, although admittedly no luggage as well (easily stored behind pod).
The built in canopy is a must for cooking in the wet etc, and fantastic for sitting under on warm summer evenings with a glass of something nice.
There are extras available, the footprint is always a good buy as they protect the SIG- arguably the most vulnerable part of a SIG tent. Plus if you're going to resale it (as we tend to after a season or two), advertising as used with footprint increases sales ime.
The kids room is a useful addition if there's a chance it might be wet (eg camping in the UK!), only snag is tat the existing pod doesn't slip out, has to be folded down.
We also have the carpet- a luxury and not essnetial, but ime great for keeping warm, and a boon if you have a crawler!
