"We wanted a tent you could stand up in, that…"
04-Jul-2010
We wanted a tent you could stand up in, that would be big enough for us to be cooped up in during a bit of rain, and light enough to cart to the odd weekend festival without sacrificing too much space or comfort.
This has the 2 bedrooms at one end and the other 3 sides have huge windows so you can be inside but not feel closed in. The 3 sides have a door on each so you can choose your exit and cover up the others depending on which way the wind is blowing/whim/where the mud is/whether or not you are camped next to someone who gallivants about naked over breakfast.
We keep the 2 bedrooms unzipped as one big one and push the blowup beds together but when ds is bigger we will probably separate them if he wants his own space.
It's really easy to put up, it's colour coded and everything is logical even to camping virgins like us. And it has an integrated floor so no bugs and if it does rain it won't sloosh in over the edge of your groundsheet.
And I like the storage pockets. And the fact that the internal space is arranged in such a way that you can keep all your clobber in there but it doesn't feel crowded. (And we have a lot of clobber.)
We also bought the extension for the front so that we can have a separate dining bit with a bit of a shelter, and somewhere to enjoy a gin and tonic at dusk that's not totally exposed to the elements.
Lastly, the front side is slightly sloped so if it's windy it's more aerodynamic than some others, and doesn't take such a battering.Read moreLessMumsnetter kitbit
