"Love this product.…"

I bought a WeeRide Safe Front from Halfords and love it. I had read the good reviews and saw it was cheap on Amazon, but went to Halfords as I didn’t feel happy fitting myself. After watching the young lad fit it, I think I could have probably done myself. From our first ride Boo fell in love with her seat and if it wasn’t for the weather we would be out every day. I love the fact I have my arms around her and we can see the same things. I found the seat very easy to use and would recommend to anyone.

"very good but...…"

Having just done a nineteen mile bike ride with two year old DS on this I can recommend it. The metal bar stays on the bike and adds an unwelcome kilo or two on my daily commute, however come the weekend, the plastic seat fits in less than 30 seconds. I have two mains gripes with this seat. Firstly DS is able to wriggle out of his straps no matter how tight I make them. Secondly you end up cycling with your knees slightly wide so that you don't kneecap yourself on the seat. This can start to hurt after a while, especially when you have to put the effort in. Otherwise great DS loves it and we get admiring glances from young and old.

"Not for hilly terrains.…"
16-May-2012
I had such high hopes for this bike seat but I found it uncomfortable and difficult to use. If you live in a hilly area, the extra effort you need to go uphill is really increased by the bow-legged riding position. I also found that my child put their hands on my legs the whole time which I found so off-putting but I guess they liked the security. The position of the seat does mean your saddle has to be lower, and again that makes riding harder. I am sure it is nicer for your baby to be upfront but I hated every minute!

Cracking little invention this one, yes I know it's a bit more cash than the basic seats but all I can say is it's worth every penny as use it every day and it's so easy to use. My son loves using the removeable head rest as a steering wheel and now we can't open the garage door now without him wanting to go out on it! Quality!

Bought this as it had such good reviews and was top on Amazon, and now I know why. It is expensive, 3x the price of the other is looked at, but I would still say it is worth it. Main reason is the joy it brings my little man. He laughs and smiles as soon as I get his helmet out. And I can't put a price on that. Plus I feel he is so much safer than a back seat. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

We've been riding wit ours for a couple of months now - in fact I must get it out today! DD is very happy upfront and seems comfortable.
Although it's supposed to be big enough for up to 4yo, it looks quite small to me, but I don't know how it compares to others and I haven't got a 4yo to test it out on!Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

16-Oct-2011
Bought the Safe Front Weeride as always like to buy the latest models! To be honest, couldnt see any major differences with my friend's older version. Now know why she has banged on about it for so long. It is such good fun and feels so safe. I was worried as I am only 5ft 2, but riding wasn't an issue. Saying that, not sure how I will feel when my son is 4 as may struggle to see ove rthe top of him! But as 2 it is fine. He is comfortable, laughing his way round our local area, and I am happy as dont have the battle of getting him in the car seat and I get some exercise. Bought in Evans who were kind enough to fit, such a good bike store, such a good bike seat

Superb product that I take great pride in recommending to my friends. I purchased from Amazon as it was ranked number 1 with them which I always believe is a good sign, and the reviews were faultless.
I received within 24hrs which impressed me. But the real joy came on using the product. Seb absolutely adores his seat and when daddy comes home from work, the first thing he has to do is go out again for a ride. I dont know of any other product we have bought for our son that brings him so much joy, or us! Well thought out design and good value for money.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

12-Jul-2011
Have been using this great seat for 2 weeks so far and can see we'll be getting loads of use out of it. 1 year old DS absolutely loves sitting in it and points at everything as we go along.
It was easy enough to fit, taking about an hour for one person.
I was worried that I would keep bashing my knees off the seat, but in fact it barely makes any difference to my riding position.
Would thoroughly recommend this seat.Read moreLessMumsnetter applejelly

Bought this off Halfords online and got fitted at the store as I am not good at things like that!
Found the seat very easy to use and loved having baby upfront. He is only 7 months but felt very secure in the straps and I was happy as I had my arms aroudn him. He giggled all the way round so knew he was happy. Just hope we keep the good weather.
Thought the thunbscrew to get teh seat off was a bit stiff, so hope that gets easier with time.
Great seat and highly recommend.Read moreLessMumsnetter MarianneH

28-Apr-2011
We love having our DD on the front of the bike. The splayed leg cycling position takes a bit of getting used to but is OK and probably a hazard of any front mounted seat.
we used this from about 16-20 months through last summer. Our DD is relatively slim but we were finding it a bit of a tight fit with the front bracket. If your child is a bit on the chunky side this would be something to consider I think. Not sure how this is going to last until 4 years as the foot rests don't seem to go low enough either. Yet to try it this year now DD is 2.5. Am hoping to get another summer out of it at least but might be a squeeze.Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

What a great idea. I didnt even know there were seats at the front of the bike until I saw someone using a Weeride a few weeks ago. It looked so much fun I asked the rider about it. He raved so much about it I had to buy one and so glad I did.
It is everything I wanted from a seat, fun, easy to use and safe. Really well made. Cant believe more people dont use as soooo much better than a seat on the back.
My baby now grabs her helmet and goes to the front door!
Fantastic product and will go alongside my Bugaboo as best buy for my little one.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

05-Apr-2011
Loved this seat. I bought one after reading so many great reviews. Was interested by the review below as I hadnt seen a negative one before. Not sure why they couldnt dismount by swinging their leg off like most people?
I would also suggest that they didnt have the straps tight enough if they were grabbing your handlenbars. I didnt have either of these problems.
I actually found the seat to be very safe. In fact I only bought after seeing it had met the EU safety standards and reading lots of reviews. Even then I wasnt sure so was comforted that WeeRide are so confident in their product they ofer a no quibble returns policy. This was the only front seat I found that didnt attach to the handlebars which I know would worry me.
Anyway, I love it, wish I had bought sooner.

very disappointed, unsafe to dismount, basically because you cant come down and forward to dismount because the seat is in the way, even with my seat at lowest point i have to lurch to side and get my toe down (cos you have to stay on the seat). not happy to use this seat on my bike. also my daughter grabbed the handlebars and my arms at various times and pushed, doesnt seem very safe that

Great idea. Simple to fit and use.
Only issue I had was that i have a dutch style bike so I cant slide off the front of the seat now as the baby seta is there. But now swing leg off behind so no problem.
Good fun and extremely safe imho.

09-Oct-2010
I don't want to give the WeeRide Kanagaroo a bad review as I'm sure it's fantastic for some people, but it didn't work at all for me so I would like to warn others about what I think is real problem with it.
The issue is that in order to stop safely with this seat on your bike you need to be able to put your feet on the ground while sitting on the saddle. This is because you can't move forward off your saddle (as I would normally do when stopping) because the seat is in the way. There's no way I can comfortably ride a bike with the saddle that low. On a trial run my son absolutely loved it though so I would have had no worries on that score. Plus it seemed very well-made.
We've just bought a Pletscher rear seat and will see how that goes, although it seems incredibly heavy.Read moreLess4 people found this review helpful.

Wasnt sure about buying a front seat as people told me they were dangerous.
Bought one called a Safe Seat which was anything but.
Then a friend told me about weeride as it attaches differently to other front seats.
Love it. Great fun with my 3 year old and feel totally safe as weight is in the middle and doesnt affect my steering.
John also loves it as it is so comfortable.
Expensive, but worth it IMHORead moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

I thought this seat was excellent. I upgraded my old Kangaroo to the Deluxe version, and it is definately the flashest bike seat I have ever seen! The cushions are very thick and soft and you couldnt make your little one more comfortable. We love the fact that John can sit in front of us and chat to us and ejoy the view. I dont know whether rear of front seats are safer, but I certaibly like the fact I can see what he is upto. But forget safety, this seat is just great fun!

24-Mar-2009
This is a seat that sits on a crossbar and so the bike feels much more stable than when it's carrying a seat on the back. Plus they can see out so it's more fun for the child. It's reasonably easy to fit and comfortable for the child plus you get to snuggle them a bit as you go along. Works well from 6 to 18 months on average.
