Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP

Lovely comfortable car seat, easy to fit and very padded. I would definitely recommend it.

We purchased this car seat, even though I had some questions over it's safety in a side impact situation. We felt it was light and flimsy, so my husband gave it a good pull (while it was in the car)... it snapped! Returned it asap and won't be buying another as I think if my husband can snap it while pulling it forward it can't be very safe. I am however still looking for something more sturdy

i bought one of these for dd when she reached 15kg and have now bought exactly the same for ds now that he is 15kg. they can climb in on their own and are able to go to sleep easily on long drives. the seat covers are very easy to take off and wash and go back on without a problem. my dad wrestles with the seats though when he has to put them in or out but i put that down to him more than the product!

This car seat is easy to use and very easy to install. It is comfortable, lightweight and seems to offer tonnes of protection. My four old sleeps as well in it as he did his much bulkier, younger age group seat. It looks nice too - all in all very good.

This has great safety reviews so I bought it for my oldest daughter. It's lovely and comfy, she loves being in a big girl seat.

The downside is that it's too wide for us. We have a Stage 2 and Stage 1 car seat in with this one and they're all really squeezed in. We're going to have to get another one just to fit when my son moves up to a Stage 2 carseat. So very disappointed.

I bought this seat for my son who is 2.9 yrs old, as his younger brother has had to move up a seat from his rear-facing one.

It is a high-back booster with fairly good comfort and protection, but on our first journey my son fell asleep in it and his head and upper body lolled forward so much that I felt it was unsafe to use, despite him being in the right weight and height bracket for this product.

There is a reclining function on the seat but this did not improve things much. I took the seat back to the store (only had it three days and it was still immaculate!)and exchanged it for a Silver Cross Navigator.

I am sure that for an older child, this seat would be fine, but I think it is highly unsuitable for 2-3 year olds or those at the lower end of the weight and height range.

Ideally I would not recommend moving children to this kind of seat until they are too big for their current seat. Of course, a small age gap between siblings, plus financial constraints, mean that that this is not always possible.

Overall, a nice-looking seat but expensive compared to others, bearing in mind that it has a pretty basic recline function and poor side protection for a sleeping child.

Bought this as it looks safe and has recline position.Also liked the fact that it has side protection on the head as well.My daughter loves it as it makes her feel very grown up using the normal seat belts!

Excellent seat - easy to move from car to car, and very comfortable for the child. Infinitely better than the Britax Evolva 123 that I bought for DD - that seat is pretty rotten on all counts!!

I've had this carseat for both my daughters for a couple of years now and it still looks as good as new! It is very durable and versatile and has served our family well.

It is foolproof and offers great support and protection. There are bargains to be had if you shop about.

Would definitley buy again!

Good flexible seat that will be able to be used right up until the child no longer needs any booster, as the back can be taken off. Ds is happy to use it and it offer much more protection than a simple booster.

Our children love their Rodi XPs! We bought them beacause they ahd such good safety reviews on Which and they have been very impressive! The kids say they are comfortable and they feel grown up! Easy to insatll and having the base is reassuring.

I have three of these and have found them to be easy to fit, stylish and comfortable for the children. I managed to get last year's colour through a deal on kiddicare, substantially reducing the price. Only one gripe, the fabric on my son's (black) seat cover has gone very bobbly despite not being that old.

This car seat looks really good and should last a long time as the back can be removed and it converts into a booster seat. The covers are washable and spares can be bought.

One of the more expensive ones, but came up best in the Which? report on carseats. Can seperate the back from the base if you're travelling and dont' want to take such a big base.

An excellent car seat for an older child, giving them head support and protection and allowing them to take a nap without flopping around in the back of the car.

Generally great - our daughter gets in it without any fuss and is very proud of it.

Slight negative, although probably true of other seats too, is that on long journeys her bottom gets uncomfortable. Possibly from the cover material type, but probably just from sitting still for so long.

Seems really secure - likes the base it clicks into. My son loves it and I'm realy chuffed too! Was worried about the next stage being as safe as our Britax renaissance but this seat has reassured me

Good safe car seat(did well in Which? tests) which is easy to fit and which is easy for the child to use.

I found it fiddly - the seat belt sometimes gets caught in the belt guide rather than slipping smoothly which is annoying and I am concerned may compromise the seat's safety. It is however comfortable. I have 3 seats: the Rodi XP, the Graco Sport and the Graco Junior. If I had to buy another it would be the Graco Sport

Weighs a ton but nice solid seat and reclines for sleeping.

This is a great car seat - very comfortable and easy to install. Our kids love the feel that they are like "grown ups" with safety belts rather than having the cross baby belts!

It's comfortable yet lightweight and is really easy to install and/or swap between cars. It has a baseplate which it clicks into - this makes it very easy to locate. It reclines to meet the angle of the supporting seat and has good side support for the child's head. The design is smart and easy to keep clean, with no fussy details.

I think this seat is great. Looks fantastic and luxurious, feels great, nice and soft and the in-car base keeps it solid when you go round corners although this doesn't fit all cars, not that you HAVE to use it. We tried many high backed boosters before forking out for this one. This is the ONLY seat that my son's head didnt flop forward in once he fell asleep and if we slowed down or stopped the car. Have recommended to several friends since.

Everyone seems to rate this car seat and having used the Maxi Cosi XP for 9 months - 4 years, which I really loved and rated in terms of comfort and ease of installation, I found this seat a real disappointment. Even in its furthest reclining position my son can't seem to get comfortable in it for a nap and whilst it's only connected to the seat by the clip at the back and a seat belt, I have found it a real pain to try to fiddle the seat belt out of the slot so I can move the seat to another part of the car.

For the peace of mind of knowing your child is well protected, the extra cost of this is well worth it.
SLightly difficutl to work out how to disconnect from the base - but otherwsie straightforward.

I'd rate this for comfort and safety which means that it does make it good value for money. Solid choice.
