"The papoozle is great for baby from birth to about…"
11-Aug-2011
The papoozle is great for baby from birth to about 9 months. Because of the way the straps go around you, the weight was distributed evenly and you don't really feel the weight of the baby.
Unfortunately for me, my baby likes to wriggle and keep on turning round to look left, right and centre. So the papoozle is not so suitable for me as it restricts my baby 'movement'. It was great when she was younger as she can just lie next to me and fall asleep listening to my heartbeat.
But now (she is a year old), she loves to sit up high (so she can see over my shoulder) so she refuses to sit 'facing me'. If she is facing away, she loves to wriggle so the wrap is usually sort of twisted.
And because she is in the front, it restricts my ability to do housework as her hands and feet are all over the place (can't do my dishes without her dipping into the basin!).
I would recommend this for a young baby but not for 10 months and over.Read moreLessMumsnetter MeghanMc

"I had used a baby bjorn for my first child…"
08-Nov-2009
I had used a baby bjorn for my first child and it hurt my back, so I wanted to try something else. Having hired a Mei-Tei when my baby was in her first weeks, I found that too big for a newborn so tried this one. One of the best baby things I have bought, I've used it most days. It took a little bit of time to get used to getting the baby in a position where she didn't slip down (not a problem when the baby is bigger), but she loves it and I find it very comfortable. She loves being able to face out too. She is now 4 months and it's still going strong. My only criticism is that one of the strips of fabric has slightly stretched (possibly due to my fumbing when my daughter was much smaller), so it's slightly longer than the other 'strap'.

"We bought one of these after reading the reviews on…"
04-Nov-2009
We bought one of these after reading the reviews on here, I wonder if the other reviews are of the same tots bots papoozle??? because the one we bought was a complete waist of money. first of all the it was difficult to work out which way you put the few pieces of fabric on! then once we worked out how to put Oscar in we had to keep adjusting the material away from his neck. Also after a 30min walk to the shop for a paper the fabric around my neck was really sore and red as this was where most of the weight was carried. I wouldnt recomend any carrier that is just fabric with no support.

13-Sep-2009
This was a fantastic sling for me and DD. My DD is really heavy (98th centile) and while other slings pulled on my shoulders and gave me back ache I really liked the way this sling spread the weight so evenly across my back and onto my hips, I could wear her for hours without a problem.
The new instructions are really good and using them I was able to get her into the different positions and breast feed successfully while having her in the cradle hold. Brilliant!Read moreLessMumsnetter LiziBee

"A friend lent me this, so I could compare it…"
11-Jul-2009
A friend lent me this, so I could compare it with the Baby Bjorn which was the only other sling I had used. I found the Papoozle much more comfortable than the Baby Bjorn for long periods of time - I could quite happily carry my 7 month old son for a couple of hours and he seemed very happy in it too. The padded shoulders are a great idea and the design of the Papoozle means that the weight of the baby is spread very easily so I don't get sore shoulders like with the Baby Bjorn. I did however find it a bit tricky to put the Papoozle on and get my son in on my own, I found it much easier when I had an extra pair of hands to help. When I put him in on my own I found that he slipped down quite a lot, although maybe with practice I will get this sorted. Overall though, a good product.

"I know I am going against all the previous reviews…"
18-May-2009
I know I am going against all the previous reviews but I just had to say how disappointed I am with this. I bought it based entirely on the reviews here and can admit that putting it on is extremely easy.
The problem I had is that included with my sling was an additional belly band (another long piece of fabric). It was not mentioned anywhere on the instructions and there was no instructions on the foetal or hip positions. I contacted Totsbots and they sent photos of foetal position but no instructions on how to get to that point. I emailed asking for more help and to date have still received no reply.
The company I bought it from admits this has been a common problem. A new leaflet is due out at some point in future to include these 2 positions. However, based on the awkwardness of using the additional belly band and lack of service from Tots Bots, I have bought a Moby instead. Already I can say it is so much better than the papoozle.Read moreLessMumsnetter EddiesMummy

05-Mar-2009
I've found the papoozle really easy to put on and place my son into. The positions are also easily adjusted. At 4 months he is just over 16lb which means that after carrying him around for more than ten minutes my arms ache, however in the Papoozle I can comfortably carry him around on our 2 hour long walks.

04-Mar-2009
I think the papoozle is an excellent carrier, especially for a sling novice who may find wraps a little daunting. The waist belt offers security and reassurance, as well as making the carrier easy to put on. The fabric makes the carrier comfortable without the need for an origami lesson like some wraps. It offers the best of both worlds, wraps and structured carriers. I can comfortably wear my 8 month old for hours and she is quite happy in it. I also find the extra fabric handy when you need a little extra support and I can imagine it would be great when wearing a tiny baby, though I've not tried it myself. Great sling and great buy!

"The Papoozle is really clever sling and there is nothing…"
04-Mar-2009
The Papoozle is really clever sling and there is nothing quite like it on the market. I would describe it as a hybrid between an Ergo and the Kari-me. So you get the ease and convenience of the adjustable belt buckle with the versatility and comfort of fabric lengths to tie around your body, baby and waist. Because there is less fabric and less tying involved though, it's much simpler to put on that a normal wrap around. Would definitely make a great starter sling for someone who is keen to try wrapping but is put off by the lengths of fabric. You can put the sling on first and put baby in after so it's great for popping in and out of the car/shops etc. Baby can go on the front facing in or out comfortably. The only problem I found with a newborn is there wasn't enough head support and over a long period of time baby's head kept slipping down and I had to readjust the sling. Overall the Papoozle is incredibly comfortable and the extra padding in the shoulders is wonderful. Also the colours are delightful. Ignore some of the other anon reviews I think they are talking about something completely different!

"I have two babies of carrying age so i was…"
09-Jan-2009
I have two babies of carrying age so i was looking for a sling that i could use for either child and this does! I can carry my 11 week old baby either in a nursing carry or upright facing in or out and my 15 month old toddler can be carried on my hip. I can carry the baby for a whole day out and not feel strained at all, and the toddler can be carried for a fair lengh of time. Another good point is that as a plus size mum (20-22) with a very big bust, i found some slings too tight and restrictive but this one has plenty more adjustment so would fit a much bigger person with comfort.
I have washed mine several times and it washes well and will last for a few more babies yet!
In all i found it easy to use, comfortable and good value.Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

"I have tried a lot of slings and carriers and…"
04-Nov-2008
I have tried a lot of slings and carriers and this was by far the best! As a very busy Mam of three (4y, 2y and 5m) and not to forget the dog, I needed a comfy sling/carrier that both the other half and I could use. I always liked the idea of the long wrap around slings but they looked to scarey to use!!
I have used the papoozle since my son was about 2 weeks old. He is now nearly 5 months and he loves looking out. It is very versitile. I can even breastfeed hands free on the go.
He was a very clingy newborn and this saved my sanity!! I have my 2 year old in a single buggy and my son is on the sling. I have a bad back but find the waist band supports me well. I can carry him around all day in comfort. As will any new baby item it takes a few practises to get it right.
Lastly, its machine washable, a must for any baby item.
Fantastic carrier, thank youRead moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

28-Oct-2008
What a fantastic carrier! The previous reviewers be talking about a different product compared to the one I bought recently at the London Baby show. I have two children, a 5 month old and a 2 year old and I carry both of them in it, not at the same time of course, my 2 year old loves it as he does get a bit jealous of his little bro. Easy to put on, sooo comfy even for long periods. Made in the UK too.

Easier to put on than some & great with a new-born, but not once they get a bit heavier (unless you confine your usage to around 30 minutes each time). I thought it looked great - my husband did not (said it reminded him of his first set of coloured flares)
Wished it could have coped with bigger children comfortably as I wanted to keep using this, but it almost hurt as our son stuck into me too muchRead moreLess1 person found this review helpful.
"I was asked to test the Papoozle for a magazine.…"
13-Aug-2008
I was asked to test the Papoozle for a magazine. I must say that I have never been a big fan of slings as I have always been overwhelmed by the amount of fabric! The Papoozle changed my mind though. It is easy to use and really comfy. My baby had chicken pox and cried every time I put him down. With the Papoozle I was able to carry him for hours on end, without getting back or shoulder pain. You can see that they have really looked at all of the other slings on the market and added what they are all missing (whatever that is!). The result is perfect.
