Mamas & Papas Baby Carrier Deluxe - City Scape

This is the only carrier I've tried but to be honest I wasn't that impressed by it - it was fine for me when the babies were small but I found they both seemed too squashed in it well before aged 1. My daughter was/is very small for her age but even she had outgrown it by 9 months - my son even earlier. If you're looking for a long lasting baby carrier look elsewhere - it honestly doesn't live up to the description 'deluxe'.

This is our first carrier, and while it serves us decently well, if I had more experience I would *not* have gone with it.

First, the plusses - the carrier is relatively inexpensive (about £40 on sale), and lasts till your kid is 1 year old. It is fully adjustable so whether you are 5 foot tall, or 6'5", you can wear it comfortably. Also, it's a snap together system, which is (to me) less intimidating than a wrap carrier system.

The minusses - The back support is non-existent. There is lumbar support, but it constantly slips/rides up on the back, completely killing the purpose of support. The straps are so long (to be adjustable for everyone) that they get tangled all over the place. Now I can put this thing on and the kid by myself, but at the beginning you will need at least 2 pairs of hands, which kind of kills your ability to be on the go and independent. The burp cloth is useless, it choked our little one when he was tiny. And, one piece has already broken, only 3 months old! If you have the money, I would go with an Ergo - if I had the knowledge, it's what I would have gone with.
