I've loved this sling! I got it to make breastfeeding more discreet when DS was about 4 months. I really wish I had discovered it earlier. DS absolutely loves it, he's 11 months and he feeds and sleeps in it and we walk miles with it. Whenever I pick it up he kicks his legs and squeals to jump in. would recommend.

Really easy to use, easy to breast feed in, and easy to change positions, but as all the weight is on one side it is not great for my back. DD's breathing sometimes sounded labored in the newborn position. DH prefers this sling to our wrap as you can pick it up and go. I prefer the wrap as the weight is more evenly distributed.

I find this sling really uncomfortable for the newborn positions. It pulls on my neck and I can't get baby in easily. Also find because its on the side you have much less flexibility and movement. Would not recommend anyone with any back problems to use this sling.

This is the most comfortable of all slings that I have tried. Soft and natural and my baby could just curl up and look at me as I got on with what I needed to do. I used it with my toddler too while he sat on my hip and also with my second child. I walked for miles with my baby close to me, even climbed Tintagel Castle on a camping trip. I would recommend this to any new to be mum!

Love this - it's comfortable for both me and baby, easy to pop her in and out, and could even breastfeed in the early days - only wish I'd got it sooner. Once you've got the hang of how to tie it, it's a piece of cake, though it did take a couple of viewings of the DVD to master the technique. My baby loves being snuggled in and often goes to sleep in it, which is very nice for both of us.
I bought mine second hand from another Mumsnetter, which made it good value - it's quite pricey if you buy new, though comparable with other slings/carriers. Last but not least, you can sling it into the washing machine and comes up good as new.Read moreLessMumsnetter zinnia

dd is now 12 but I remember this as our best purchase ever and used it from 3 months to 3 years (after abandoning a front carrying sling which was impossible and uncomfortable.)
We live in a hilly town where many shops have steps, so it was preferable to a pram/buggy. We also did many long distance walks with baby, stopping to feed in a field on the way (happy days.)I could change from sleeping to awake position easily, and it was a fixture in our lives.Read moreLessMumsnetter beckyvicky

This was great - our first child would go to sleep almost instantly when placed in this sling and then we had both hands free to do other things in comfort.
It was very easy to lay her down without her waking. All you need to do is pull the strap over your head.Read moreLessMumsnetter Daddster

I loved this sling. Although it took a bit of getting used to (what baby equipment doesn't?!) once I got the hang of it I loved being able to pop Sam in it and take him about with me anyway. I fed him in it and it was brilliant on holiday as he could just sit on my hip wherever we were (especially good at the airport with pushchair checked in).

A "very natural" sling: "When you're using it you feel like you're cradling your newborn". Everyone found it tricky to use at first as "you have to experiment with different positions unlike more structured carriers". Although it's "versatile" and adapts to accommodate bigger children, "it's probably more ideal for use with a baby". "It's easy to fold and pack" and "is great for short trips as it only takes a second to get baby in and out", plus "it's distributes the weight well so is very comfy". An added bonus is that it's "excellent for breastfeeding".

This takes some practice and still sometimes I put it on and wonder what I did wrong. I am still using just the new-born snuggle however and maybe as the baby gets older and we use the other "settings" it wil lget easier. My husband finds it great - much easier than I do.

I bought this sling to carry my toddler around, hopefully with my hands free to push a buggy.
It proved simple to do up and put on, and to get my son in, however as you move wearing it it tend to bump around and move and I find I need to adjust it every now and then. No matter how I did it up the padding seemed to move up to my neck which was very uncomfortable and not suitable for long use.
I couldn't use it with my hands free, simply because my son would end up leaning back as the sling doesn't quite stay in place. But with an arm holding him, it is okay to use.
It's simple to use, but simply not that comfortable. I'd imagine it would be more ideal for use with a baby.Read moreLess"Wonderful carrier, especially for short trips as its only a…"

Wonderful carrier, especially for short trips as its only a second to take the baby in and out. Excellent for breastfeeding in too. I could feed while out shopping and no-one ever noticed and I was not tied to a chair.

Really great for breastfeeding when going on walks when James was tiny. Useful in different ways as James has grown. He's always enjoyed being in it. Met a mum who was still using it with her 3 year old.

much easier to use than other carriers no clips or swathes of material to tie. Babies are very happy in huggababy slings.

Jem loves being in the sling, he falls asleep instantly and stays asleep for as long as he's in it! it's very simple and easy to use, and both me and my partner can use it. it gets a lot of comments, because its so unusual, and much warmer and cosier than your average baby carrier.

Wonderful way of carrying baby especially when he's small, never fails to put ours to sleep instantly, and you can breastfeed anywhere with it. A little tricky to work out the positioning, and not good for long days out when he gets a bit heavier as all the weight is on one shoulder.

Never even used, seemed very insecure for my newborn who wasn't very impressed. After the first try we didn't get around to using it again as it was such a faff! Now wish we'd gotten a front carrier.

I used a Huggababy with dd3 and loved it, from birth right up to 3. It was fairly easy to use, and great having different positions. The padding is good for sling novices though can be a bit hot in summer. Tried it with dd4 and found it quite bulky (due to padding) - once you have the hang of ring slings you may prefer (like me) an unpadded sling - more flexible, less bulky, cooler. Would recommend a Huggababy as a first sling.

It took a while for me to get the hang of using this sling, but once I got it I found it very easy to get my daughter in and out with no problems. The instructions for use were difficult to follow, and I ended up experimenting with different positions until we were both comfortable. I found it invaluable for travel on public transport, and for those times when my daughter just didn't want to be put down (i.e. the first 4 months of her life). I used this sling almost every day until recently - my daughter is now too heavy for me to carry her comfortably for long periods of time (she is 28 months and 13kg), and we both miss it! This was the best 'baby' purchase I made by far.

A nice way to carry a baby or toddler- especially if you want to get them in and out a lot, but it's hot in summer and akward to get a coat over or under. You can breastfeed discreetly and easily while wearing it though. I managed to feed while walking along using it. Quite a boon for a busy gal!

Excellent sling to start off with until you feel confident wearing your baby - great for men but can feel very bulky for women.

07-Jan-2007
This was by far the best sling I tried, and I tried several. Its main advantage was that after a little practice it was possible to get my baby into the sling in only a few seconds - no fiddly clips or ties. It was very comfortable for me with good padding. My son frequently fell asleep in it, so I presumed he was comfortable too! Fantastic product. The only warning is if you have back problems, because the baby is positioned to one side, the weight will not be symmetrically positioned. That being said, I still found this one far superior to other designs.

Better to use when your baby is very small, inside the house, as can cradle them in a fetal position, never really used it it in the street as would not feel secure that the baby was properly strapped in.

As my baby was born premature this was the only sling i could find that would accommodate my baby. Found it difficult to use at first but once I managed to get my baby in it was a godsend. I found it got slight uncomfortable as my baby got older. In all it was a must for my babys first two months.

I used it for baby 6mths+. I found it so easy to slip baby in, and the hip carrying position was very comfortable for us both. Have carried baby for over 2 hours on occasions! I have narrow shoulders so needed XS size. Like most slings, difficult to manage with winter coats, but possible. Would love to try it with a newborn.
