"I wasn't sure if I would ever use a sling…"
04-Jun-2010
I wasn't sure if I would ever use a sling when I bought this, but it was the single most useful thing I had for the first three months. It took a little practise, but I was soon able to foldit, put it on and put my son in it one-handed and it folds away so small it lived in my change bag or underneath the pram.
My son awoke whenever I put him down, so being able to put him in the sling meant I could make (and eat) food, do housework or even just sit and chat without my arms getting tired. It was also useful for the times I wanted to just pop down the road to the shop without the hassle of a pushchair, or when my son became unhappy in the pushchair and wanted to be carried.
My son is now 10 months old and I still use it for short walks as it can secure him on my hip. Can't recommend this highly enough.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"Really comfortable, great for travel as it packs up so…"

Really comfortable, great for travel as it packs up so small. My daughter loves it and sleeps in it really well.
I tried a couple of other slings/ carriers and found them really uncomfortable and bulky, my daughter also did not settle in them. The hotsling is the most useful piece of equipment I have bought as a parent.
it is especially useful when traveling as it does not take up space or weight.
They also come in a range of plain colours, we have a black one so my husband likes to use it!Read moreLessMumsnetter newmumofpoppy

"I absolutely LOVE this sling. Having a new baby and…"

I absolutely LOVE this sling. Having a new baby and a toddler it has proved to be completely invaluable.
The slings are made in America. The Hotslings website (hotslings.com) shows you also all the colours available and how to use it.
The great thing about this sling is that the material is very comfortable (slightly stretchy) and looks fab. You can get it in all sorts of fabrics and designs. I bought it in "sweetpea" and it looks great. Some of the other slings I saw and tried before looked a bit too functional and when you're using it every day I wanted it to look good as well as being practical. Everyone who sees it thinks it's brilliant!
It is a pouch sling which my baby loves. She's 5 months and I'm still using it every day (in fact she's sleeping in it now!) REALLY easy to use although it takes a little bit of practice at the start. They send a DVD with the sling which shows you how to use which is handy. After that you can pop your baby in really easily. I only marked it down slightly on comfort because if you don't put the baby in right it can pull your back / shoulders a little bit. Sometimes I have to take her out and put her back in again to get it just right. Would definitely recommend to all.Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.
