"I was lucky and got a new one cheaply from…"
18-Aug-2010
I was lucky and got a new one cheaply from eBay. but I'd still say it's a decent buy if you get it at full price.
I've used this quite a lot since my son was born and find it easy to put on once you look at instructions online (there were none in the box I had).
If I need to pop out I find it far easier to strap the baby into this and go, than set up the pram.
My son seems comfortable in it and usually falls asleep straight away. I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on with it as he gets older.
Because you tie the straps around yourself, rather than click on an existing frame, I find it adapts quite easily to the user. I'm a shortie and my husband is tall (and broader than me) and we can make it fit both of us. It's gentler on my shoulders than a single-shoulder sling would be too.Read moreLessMumsnetter FortunateHamster

"I have an Ellaroo Mei Tai and a Baby Bjorn,…"
11-Jan-2010
I have an Ellaroo Mei Tai and a Baby Bjorn, and compared with the Baby Bjorn the Ellaroo comes out way ahead. It may not be as easy to put on at first, but once you get the hang of it it's great. Much more comfortable, spreads the weight of the baby, and holds the baby really close to your chest so you almost feel pregnant again. I also like that (unlike the Bjorn) my little boy's arms are held close to his face so he feels more secure. In my experience he loves it and even if he's screaming when I put him in it, within a few minutes he'll be nodding off. I also love the fact it's a bit different from other slings and I feel like a proper tribal mum with it on!

"I bought this because it looked nice and I thought…"

I bought this because it looked nice and I thought it would be good for a hot summer but my baby screamed every time I tried to put him in it. Once in it he did calm down but he was hanging really low no matter how I tied it so I ended up going out and buying a baby bjorn which he was much happier in. The ellaroo was quite an expensive mistake.

Really nice and soft, in a nice range range of colours I've used it in a range of carries from tiny baby to 14 months so far. Instructions are not that great so some practice is needed but "You Tube" is a great help!

I think this sling is great. It spreads the weight across your shoulders and back making it very comfortable to wear. It is easy to put on too. My LO loves being in it, much more than any other sling I've tried. It's a gorgeous design too.
