"Comfortable and excellent value"
20-Apr-2012
I considered a number of seats after talking to a safety advisor at a car seat event run by our local council. We decided against rearfacing due to the vehicle we drive and logistics of getting to a stockist to get it properly fitted. The recaro young Sport was the best forward facing option we came up with and I have not been disappointed. DD finds it extremely comfortable, it is study, the belts are well designed for comfort and safety and the clip is alarmed so I can hear if the little darling undoes the buckle. She sleeps very well in it and we have none of the sweating and discomfort problems which my elder child has in his Britax. I'm going to buy the Sport for him next.

"For that price (£130) looks like cheap Chinese product (quality"
05-Mar-2012
For that price (£130) looks like cheap Chinese product (quality of frame is very poor compared to Maxi-Cosi we've been using). Cover is held on screws! Padding is similar (softness and thickness) to cheap seats from E-bay, so I can't understand why people age so excited about safety of this seat. "Recline" is almost nonexistent and requires a lot of force to adjust. It's very problematic to buckle child with car seat belt (my wide has to get in the car to buckle up our daughter). It's also very uncomfortable for longer trips.
It should be in £50 range, not £130.
We have to get a second seat now and it won't a Recaro...Read moreLessMumsnetter 4rchibald

"I am now a believer in extended rear-facing - however"
02-Nov-2011
I am now a believer in extended rear-facing - however this is a good seat for those who decide not to go down this route.
I purchased this seat as a replacement to the Britax First Class which my son was outgrowing height-wise. The Young Sport head height is extendable so my tall son could remain harnessed til 18kg.
Once used in the high back booster mode it is heavier than most seats of this group but still easy to move around. My son is comfortable in it and his head support if he falls asleep is very good.
The seat is also very sturdy and easy to fit. It is also marketed as the STM Starlight which can be cheaper to purchase, but the seat is the same.Read moreLessMumsnetter sleepevader
