"After alot of research of various backpacks we finally decided"
17-Mar-2012
After alot of research of various backpacks we finally decided on the Phil and Teds Metro and are very, very impressed. We have carried our 6month old in it on quite a few walks on distances up to 12miles and have found her very confortable to carry. She also seems to really enjoy it and appears to be confortable and happy- big smiles when put in it and usually sleep not long after - it has enough adjustable straps to enable a cozy fit and we were impressed with the amount of storage space, the sunshade/rain cover has also had alot of use over the last month and is also very effective and easy to fold out. The one con is there is no rain cover for the little ones legs, but easily fixed with a pair of waterproof trousers.

"For a number of reason the one we were lent"
07-Feb-2012
For a number of reason the one we were lent from my brother didnt work out. My daughter looked uncomfortable + it left her with red marks on her thighs,The child harness was massive and fiddley,
Also the pull out sun cover is useless is constantley wants to fold away plus the plastic pole that hold it are really flimsey and dont even support the weight of the fabric around it. we gave it back and bought a different makeRead moreLessMumsnetter AlexisLouise

"We've got the red one - it looks really smart"
22-Apr-2011
We've got the red one - it looks really smart and is very comfortable to carry DD (13mths) in. She'll sometimes sleep in it! The straps are wide and well padded and the stand is strong and secure. I got it on boots.com for £71.99, the cheapest I could find by a long way.
The carrier has a detachable canopy and rainshield but I don't think there's a way of keeping little legs dry. There's plenty of storage space for nappies, snacks, drinks, spare clothes ...
The only problem I've had is that the wearer's chest strap has popped off on mine. I might have been wearing it pulled too tightly but I reckon it will fix.Read moreLessMumsnetter TartyMcFarty

"Absolutely brilliant. Very light and folds down small (so Virgin"
12-Jul-2007
Absolutely brilliant. Very light and folds down small (so Virgin Atlantic allowed me to take it on board as hand luggage). Our little boy was 5 months old when we bought it and he just loves it, at our height when we are out and about and he's more than happy to sleep in it too. The sun/rain canopy is fantastic (it is designed to fit in behind the baby when not in use in a special pocket. Also a brilliant large storage pocket for changing bag, food etc. And good number of pockets on the side for bottles, muslins etc. I am 5'8" and my husband is 6'3 and it fits both of us really easily. I didn't enjoy using slings as they all hurt my already damaged back - but this is a joy to use.
