"I bought the elite after researching child carriers, So glad…"
09-Feb-2012
I bought the elite after researching child carriers, So glad I made the right choice. my best buy by far. i have used it for my 3rd son before i had used a vaude lent off a friend. The bushbaby is about half the weight and much more comfortable, my son loves going for treks over the common and often falls asleep in it which must mean he's comfy, the sunshade thats included is a great I also use it when it rains, it looks waterproof. the pack has loads of adjustment meaning my wife sometimes uses it and she had no problem adjusting it. Really great pack. Big thumbs up from me. almost forgot, it packs flat too which was handy when we took it Cyprus before xmas. the airline let us take it on as hand luggage. top marks

we decided to go with the elite after buying and trying various other backcarriers, we found this the best fit for me at 6"3 and it also includes everything that you need, hence no need to buy any thing else like raincover or storage bag. really recomened product

We bought one when our daughter was 10 months and we never regret it. My husband who carries her most of the times is happy with the comfort of it and the way the weight is distributed.
It has a lot of features included and the space it provides for all the things needed for a day out is generous. The little changing bag is detachable and is now our main changing bag.
We tried it at John Lewis in Bluewater and Oxford Street, I am not sure if other shops stock it as well.
Regarding the price: it is worth checking the internet, we payed around 25% less than RPP.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

I have to disagree with other members I am afraid. It is way too expensive for what it is. Other carriers in this price range deliver far more.

Excellent carrier - we use it all the time, also around the house to do housework. It's as comfortable as any normal backpack and the pockets and other accessories are very handy.
We bought this due to the mumsnet reviews. Afterwards we realised BushBaby has another model which I believe is newer than the Elite. So compare it with the Pinnacle if you are buying from Bushbaby. In hindsight we might have gone for the Pinnacle, it has a lot of the same features, just a bit more advanced and only slightly more expensive.
We also had a problem tracking down this backpack as no stores in London seemed to stock it! Having rung about 20 stores we called Bushbaby direct and it was delivered on our doorstep two days later! Very good service!Read moreLessMumsnetter EliStar

"We got the Bush Baby elite when our little girl…"
10-Mar-2009
We got the Bush Baby elite when our little girl was 5 mnths and after a months use, I became dissatisfied, started looking at other options because it wasn't as comfortable as I was expecting for either of us. The hip belt felt like rope on our waist and the shape of the frame meant that the pack curved forward. It didn't fit along either my wife's or my back comfortably and we tried every height setting ( we are both 6ft tall). The metal frame also slipped left or right inside the bottom of the carrier, so it always felt twisted on, it was relatively unsafe to put baby in because it would not stay stood up by itself and it didn't have a handle behind the baby to lift, it only had a relatively cheap strap at the front. The biggest issue as we later found out is that our little girls arms were either trapped inside the square compartment ( and children are not square) or uncomfortably heading upwards so she had real no freedom of movement unless the side straps were left quite slack and so then she slopped around on my back. The childs shoulder harness straps connect at the top of th eback of the childs square comparment, this means baby can easily bounce up and down unless these are set quite tight. We have since replaced it with a Vaude Butterfly ( see review on that model). Having used both now for over a month each, there is no comparison in comfort for both child, carrier, safety and ease of use lifting putting child in etc and for some very simple reasons but in particular the way the child is held in the carrier.

i never got to own this one: mine was a horrible heavy lump of a backpack, but i did get to 'borrow'one complete with child when the mother was worn out! it was way better than mine, through comfort and weight, and we were doing some pretty steep yorkshire slopes that day.
but the one i got was free, and this one is expensive.Read moreLessMumsnetter MaeBee

We enjoy getting out and about in the countryside and after a lot of research we went for the Bushbaby Elite because it seemed to offer everything - comfort for baby and parent (excellent adjustability for both), plenty of storage space, weather protection (sun and rain shielding), hardwearing and stylish. Our son is quite content in this and sleeps well - the chin cushion is particularly useful.

31-Jan-2008
I bought the Elite on the recommendation of the staff at John Lewis, they were very helpful in taking my requirements and converting them into the product.
As a self confessed outdoor person I needed a carrier which can go any where in any weather, so the inclusion of all the accessories has allowed me and my wife to take the kids out in all weathers from sunshine to winter snowy walks.
We have since bought a cocoon for our second child, as we have learnt to trust the bushbaby brand.Read moreLessMumsnetter l1ttlef1sh

I bought this to take Luke to nursery - I love it, its so comfortable (I'm only 5'3") but the clever back is eay to adjust to fit me and my husband Ben he's 6'2". It comes with all the bits and pieces you need like a raincover and sun hood, and packs down flat (once we worked out how)which helps for storing it and going on a plane. Highly recomend it
